1966 Chevrolet Corvair Corsa Coupe 140 4 Speed Vintage on 2040-cars

I am selling this 1966 Corsa for a long time friend of mine who had owned it for well over 30 years. He has owned many Corvairs over the years, and this coupe and a 1965 Corsa turbo convertible are the best two of his cars and both were primarily used in corvair club events ,primarily being car shows in the area. He took pride in both of these cars and they were always maintained in top condition. This is a stunning coupe that looks fantastic and shows why the late corvair is one of the best body designs to come out of GM in the 60s. Light weight, strong unit construction and fully independent suspension and and great high winding 4 carb engine make these models a blast to drive today. This car is a numbers matching coupe and is an original Corsa (willow run produced) with a 140 HP engine(TO224RB).The paint code is N-N Madeira Maroon. 7,330 Corsa coupes were built in the US in 1966, the last year for the Corsa model 737. Most corvair people consider 1966 corvairs the best year built with the most improvements . The engine was completely rebuilt approximately 10 years ago at 72,872 miles and slightly modified , and it is smooth and fast. . I have a complete list of work performed at that time. It has re-jetted carbs and electronic Ignition. The brakes are good and it stops straight. It has a dual master cylinder upgrade. The exhaust is a fully welded Clarks system. This car has been in South Carolina for all of its life and the structure and underside is very clean and has not been covered up with paint or undercoat . There has been a small rust repair done at the battery tray area. The paint is in good to above average condition It is 8 to 10 years old and shows a few scratches here and there . It looks great and is a top notch finish ,except for 3 areas .The left rear behind the tire has some small paint bubbles ,along with both lower fenders just forward of the doors. Also there is a very small spot below the windshield right side fender. The last 4 photos show the areas. The bumpers show some minor wear and a couple scratches ,with one spot of weathering on the right front. Most all of the other trim and moldings are excellent. The interior shows no issues other than a blemish on the drivers door panel . But a new door panel is included with the sale. The headliner is great original , dash pad is perfect, as is the carpet and seat upholstery. The drivers seat is a little soft and may need some new padding to make it like new. There are no tears . The rear area is carpeted and looks very nice. The radio has a power antenna installed so the car cover fits snug. The tires and wheels are 14" chevy steel wheels with 205 70 14 tires. If you have any questions regarding the corsa feel free to ask ,I can also supply the owners contact info . |

Petrolicious profiles one man and his duo of '64 Impalas
Wed, Jul 1 2015Restoring any vintage car is a labor of love. In the end, the investment of time and money is often more than the vehicle is realistically worth on the open market. Deciding to take all of that work on yourself doesn't make things any easier, but it can only increase your connection to the project. Don Rogers, the subject of the latest video from Petrolicious, shows this passion perfectly with his duo of 1964 Chevrolet Impalas – a hardtop and convertible. Both of these Chevys had been sitting for years before Rogers got his talented hands on them, and he did all of the work himself. Now, driving the pair is therapy for him, and he's not worried about anything breaking because he knows he can put it back together. Rogers says he enjoys wrenching on his vehicles even more than going to shows. Doing your own work comes with advantages, like tailoring a project's look to your preferences. It's not original, but Rogers used the crimson interior color from a '59 Impala on his convertible to make the interior pop with the top down. Rogers is undoubtedly a talented builder, and his work is worth checking out in the latest from Petrolicious. Related Video:
2020 Ford Escape hybrids vs other crossover fuel sippers: How they compare on paper
Wed, Apr 3 2019Along with a new generation of Escape, Ford also reintroduced the world to the 2020 Ford Escape Hybrid. And if that weren't enough, Ford is adding a plug-in hybrid version. This is a sign of the times: people are more crossover crazy than ever, but are also seeking ways to use less fuel, whether it's for environmental or purely money-motivated reasons. The Ford hybrids aren't the only fuel-efficient compact crossovers on the market. They will be going head-to-head with conventional hybrids including the 2019 Kia Niro, 2019 Nissan Rogue Hybrid and 2019 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid. There are other plug-in hybrids including the 2019 Subaru Crosstrek PHEV, 2019 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV and the plug-in version of the 2019 Kia Niro. There are even a couple diesels in the form of the 2019 Chevy Equinox and 2019 GMC Terrain. So we've rounded up the details on all these crossovers to see who leads and lags in criteria such as power, fuel efficiency, space and price. Check out all their details below. 2019 Subaru Crosstrek Hybrid View 68 Photos How do their engines and fuel economy compare? Conventional Hybrids and Diesels Let's face it, if you're buying one of these crossovers, one of the things that matters most to you is just how frugal with fuel they are. We'll start off with the conventional hybrids and diesels, and the clear victor is the Kia Niro, which in base FE trim, manages to hit 50 mpg combined. This is thanks to it sharing its powertrain with the Hyundai Ioniq, the Hyundai equivalent of the Toyota Prius. Buyers should take note that only the FE returns such high fuel economy. The LX and EX drop to 49 mpg, and the S Touring and Touring get 43. Even then, the least efficient Niro is the most efficient of the normal hybrids and diesels. It is nearly the least powerful, though, with 139 horsepower. Just behind it is the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid. It delivers 40 mpg combined, and it has an ace up its sleeve: it comes standard with all-wheel drive. Every other vehicle in this powertrain group has front drive standard, and the Niro isn't available with all-wheel drive at all. If that weren't enough, the RAV4 Hybrid also boasts the most power at 219 horses. While we can't say anything about Escape Hybrid fuel economy, we do know that it will make 198 horsepower, which is close to the class-leading RAV4. The least powerful of these is the Equinox and Terrain, and they return the worst fuel economy at 32 mpg.
Survey says $25k barrier is a problem for EVs
Sun, 01 Dec 2013
The majority of consumers are more or less priced out of the market.
Electric cars are gaining popularity with the general public, but are they still too expensive? According to a survey 1,084 consumers by Navigant Research, a consulting firm located in Boulder, CO, 71 percent want their next car to cost under $25,000, while 41 percent won't go a cent above $20K. Looks like people are even thriftier than we'd originally thought.
