C10 Custom Deluxe Lwb: Factory Air & Am Radio, New Paint & Interior, Low Miles!! on 2040-cars
Conroe, Texas, United States
| 1972 Chevy C10 Custom Deluxe: First offered in 1960, Chevrolet introduced a new body style to truck fans which was more light weight and featured an independent front suspension that gave it a car-like feel.
The "Glamour Pickups" are hands down the all time favorite with Chevrolet pickup collectors. First for their refined, handsome styling but also for their drivability, quality engineering and excellent power. It was in the Glamour
Pickup Era that Chevrolet pickups made the major transition from being merely utilitarian to high-styled "personalized" pickups.
Monaco Luxury has sold numerous C10s of this era over the last few years and needless to say, we know what to look for when we buy them. After all, there were thousands of these trucks built and many are still on the road today. What sets the good trucks apart from the herd and bestows them future collectability are its factory originality, its known history, and of course its current condition. We'll briefly discuss each and then let you decide if this is the right truck for your collection (we already know it is but you're the one cutting the check!). This beautiful C10 rolled off the assembly line with the same drivetrain it maintains today and in the same striking Red Orange & White two-tone paint. It retains an uncut dash with the original AM push-button radio and working factory A/C. Originally purchased at Chapman Chevrolet in Chandler, AZ, this C10 spent its entire life in Arizona before coming to Texas in late 2013. The odometer shows just under 55k miles and per the previous owner's statements, title information and our inspection, we believe the miles to be accurate. The truck arrived in Texas in a very unmolested, rust free, and original condition. It had slight damage on one bed side and both the rockers that was easily addressed. We restored this C10 to its original glory and treated it to a few upgrades that made it both fun to drive and show. The entire truck was repainted in the original paint scheme an the underside was cleaned and treated with a black rust preventative. The interior originally featured a orange and white Highlander bench seat that is no longer available so we covered the seat in black vinyl and installed brand new carpet. Additional features and options include; 350 V8, Auto, RWD, Power Steering, Power Disc Brakes, Factory A/C (upgraded to R134), Tilt Wheel, Push Button AM Radio, Chrome Grill/Bumpers/Mirrors, Vent Windows, New Battery (June 2013), HEI Distributor, 15" Rally Wheels, and Thick BF Goodrich Long Trail T/A P235/75/R15 Tires! We recommend you jump in this truck and take a road trip with nothing but thumbs-ups and camera flashes to get in your way. With the "Buy it Now" option you can own this classic Chevy truck now and receive FREE SHIPPING* to your driveway. Not only is shipping free but we will handle all of the shipping arrangements and provide complete cargo insurance while in transit. Why wait a week just to be out bid at the last second by another bidder? We sell 90% of our cars with the low “Buy It Now” option. This classic Chevy is not a vehicle you are going to find at your local dealership. Reserve is set just below the “Buy It Now” price. Why wait? “Buy It Now” and get your new C10 home safe and hassle free! If you are local or have your own transportation arrangements, we may accept a slightly lower offer. * USA - excludes; Alaska, Hawaii, Washington, & Maine. Nissan Leaf makes it 19 in a row for record sales; Chevy Volt drops 21 percent
Wed, Oct 1 2014The Nissan Leaf continues its streak of "best month ever" sales with 2,881 EVs sold in September. Compared to the 1,953 sold in September 2013, that represents an increase of 47.5 percent and, as Nissan itself must be tired of saying by now, it marks yet another best month ever, same as last month and now the 19th in a row. Okay, sure, we know, Nissan will tout this run for as long as it can, but we're certainly expecting it each month, so if it ever doesn't happen, it'll be interesting to see how Nissan talks about it. Year-to-date, Leaf sales are up 35.7 percent compared to 2013. In any case, Nissan's director of EV marketing, Toby Perry, sent AutoblogGreen a statement that said, "Nissan Leaf owners have turned into some of our best marketers, and they jump at any opportunity to share their enthusiasm with friends and family. Take National Drive Electric Week – a grassroots celebration of all things EV and the perfect platform for LEAF owners to showcase the benefits of going electric. After celebrating with EV owners in more than 130 cities across the country, we saw a significant increase in Leaf showroom visits with midweek traffic just as heavy as what we see on the weekends." Year-to-date, Leaf sales are up 35.7 percent compared to 2013. Over on the Chevy Volt front, things aren't quite as rosy. After coming off a good August (the best sales month of 2014 by almost 500 units), Volt sales were down to 1,394, a decrease of 21.1 percent compared to September 2013. So far this year, Volt sales are down 13.2 percent year-over-year. It's kind of a stretch, but perhaps people are already waiting for the next-gen Volt, which will be revealed at the Detroit Auto Show in January, to go on sale? Speaking of things we say every month, our in-depth round-up of US green car sales is in process and will be appearing soon. Until then, please discuss how these two long-standing plug-in champs are doing on the sales floor. Green Chevrolet Nissan Electric Hybrid PHEV ev sales hybrid sales
GM Design shows what could have been and what might be
Thu, May 27 2021We periodically like to check in with GM Design's Instagram account to see what they're cooking up. Even better is when we catch a glimpse of an alternate history of what legendary designers from The General's past were thinking, though those ideas may not have made it into production. This week, for example, the account posted some illustrations from George Camp, whose career at GM spanned nearly four decades, from 1963 to 2001. One of the renderings is of what appears to be a 1971-72 Pontiac GTO Judge, but with two headlights instead of the production unit's quad beams. The rear departs from the canonical version most dramatically, with a massive integrated wing. Other bits that didn't make the production cut include large side vents, a gill-like side marker and rectangular intakes below the headlights that wouldn't be out of place on a modern design today. Amazingly, from what we can make out of the date, it appears that the drawing was done sometime in 1965, which makes it quite prescient.      View this post on Instagram            A post shared by GM Design (@generalmotorsdesign) There's also a very aerodynamic interpretation of a Corvette ZR-1. To our eyes it splits the difference between the 1986 Corvette Indy concept and a fourth-generation F-body Pontiac Firebird, so perhaps parts of Camp's work on this sketch did make it into physical form. There's also a radical sports car concept from May 1970 that resembles the Mazda RX-500 concept from the same year, a Syd Mead-looking Cadillac coupe, and an Oldsmobile with a cool take on the company's trademark waterfall grille and elements of the Colonnade Cutlass at the rear. Other recent posts include a FJ Cruiser-like off-road EV, a sleek coupe with the Chevy corporate grille, and a rendering of a Silverado-esque pickup that looks far better than the current production version.      View this post on Instagram            A post shared by GM Design (@generalmotorsdesign) It's pretty easy to lose hours in the account, but it's always fascinating to see GM's visions of what could have been and what might be. Chevrolet planning low-cost Corvette under Stingray?
Wed, 27 Feb 2013If you're burnt out on musings about the Chevrolet Corvette, you'll want to go ahead and skip this post. Motor Trend reports General Motors is hard at work on a low-cost version of the seventh-generation sports car for 2015. Rumored to be called the Corvette Coupe, the car will forgo the Stingray and skip the 450-horsepower 6.2-liter V8 engine in favor of a 5.3-liter V8 with under 400 ponies. If you're keeping track, that's a shade of the same engine found behind the headlights of the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra.
The report also suggests the Coupe will receive a number of aesthetic tweaks to separate it from the Stingray, including different front and rear fascias as well as new front fenders and a rear diffuser. Motor Trend says the point of all this is to cut the car's price tag, which means we may see a Corvette on showroom floors for less than $50,000 if this car comes to fruition.
