1972 Chevy c10

Up for auction is one bitchin 1972 C10 short bed pickup!  This truck is a head turner!  There aren’t many out there that look this good.  It gets constant thumbs up and attention everywhere it goes.

These c10s are steadily climbing in value, and this particular truck is sure to be a solid investment.  It's got the right look, the right color combination, and all the right upgrades that make it as desirable as a C10 gets!  This is not an amateur built or thrown together to sell truck.  It was done right and it shows!

This truck had a full feature is the Sept. 2012 issue of Classic trucks.  The new owner will receive a copy of the magazine.  Since the feature the truck has had many improvements and upgrades.

The motor is a correct date code 1972 402 Big Block.  It runs great; doesn't miss a beat!  The underside of the hood is nicely detailed. It has a 50's style Cadillac batwing air cleaner which has been sprayed gloss black and hand pinstriped.  The alternator was also sprayed gloss black and a billet pulley and fan added.  The tranny is a smooth shifting 400 turbo. The truck has a dual flow master exhaust that’s sounds perfect.

The truck has factory power steering, and factory power disc brakes.

The interior of this truck looks awesome!  The bright red leather really pops against the black.  The gauges were restored and look great.  A billet specialties leather wrapped steering wheel was added along with a billet shifter and turn signal lever.  The column was upgraded to a tilt column from a corvette.  Everything on this truck works.  All lights, blinkers, turn signals, horn, wipers, gauge lights, gauges, radio, ect…  It has a CD player and some nice sounding speakers.

A new Gen 5 Vintage air heat and AC kit was installed and keeps the cab ice cold in the summer and nice and warm in the winter.  New factory reproduction dash vents were added to keep the AC install looking clean.

The gas tank was removed from behind the seat and a new Blazer tank was installed between the frame rails, with a filler neck in the bed.

The wheels are Billet Specialties Vintecs, 18x8s in the front and 20x10s in the rear, wrapped in new z rated tires.

The truck fully adjustable 4 corner air ride suspension, which is brand new. The ride height can be changed with the push of a button and can be fully monitored with the gauges in the cab.  The rear end has been C-notched and a brand new set of dropped spindles were installed in the front.

This truck is extremely straight and flat down the sides.  Lots of time and care invested to get one as straight as this. The black paint is very slick and has a mirror finish.  The truck has been done for some time and it has been driven, so there are some minor signs of age and is not perfect, but still looks fantastic! The doors open and close very nice.  All the gaps are good and everything lines up nicely.  The cab is super solid. This truck was done right and it shows!

When the truck was built the bumpers were re-chromed. A new grill, door handles, mirrors, ect. were installed.  Pretty much everything on the truck was redone.

This truck runs and drives great! It has been driven on many long hauls and does great on the highway. The seat was moved back and lowered a bit to make for more leg room.  It’s a very reliable truck.  I had it on a 300 mile run recently without a single issue.

Overall, this is a great truck!  It runs good, drives good, sounds good, and looks good.  It’s a blast to drive and cruises down the road very nicely!  Its ready to hop in and enjoy!

This truck can be yours today, serious buyers can reach me at 314-393-0565.  Please read the listing prior to calling and only call if you are an interested buyer.  I reserve the right to sell the truck at any time.  Most of the vehicles I list do not make it to the end of the auction, if you want this truck, don’t hesitate to call, and don’t be surprised if its sold tomorrow!

Thanks!

Lutz dishes dirt on GM in latest Autoline Detroit

Mon, 20 Jun 2011

Bob Lutz sits down for Autoline Detroit - Click above to watch video after the jump
Autoline Detroit recently played host to Bob Lutz, and, as is always the case, the former General Motors vice chairman dished out some great commentary. Lutz was promoting his new book Car Guys vs. Bean Counters: The Battle for the Soul of American Business, and talk quickly turned to his role as it related to product development and high-level decision making at GM. While on the topic of brand management, Lutz revealed a few rather interesting tidbits about his former employer:
All Chevrolet vehicles were required to have five-spoke aluminum wheels and a chrome band up front, as part of the Bowtie brand's overall image.

Race Recap: Rolex 24 at Daytona was fast and feisty

Mon, Jan 26 2015

Let the record show that victory at the 2015 Rolex 24 at Daytona went to the No. 02 Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates Target/Ford EcoBoost Riley DP driven by Verizon IndyCar drivers Scott Dixon and Tony Kanaan and NASCAR drivers Jamie McMurray and Kyle Larson. The winner did 740 laps to cover 2,634.3 miles in 24 hours and 57.667 seconds. That's a statement to this year's pace in spite of 18 cautions, two more than last year: the Michael Shank Racing Ligier got pole with a time of 1:39.194, slower than last year's pole time of 1:38.270; however, the winning car last year only did 695 laps. The fight for top honors was shaved to a four-car battle over the first third of the event. The No. 02 Ganassi car took the lead on the first lap, swapping it well into the night with the No. 01 Ganassi car, the No. 10 Wayne Taylor Racing Corvette DP, and the defending champion No. 5 Action Express Corvette DP, all of them staying within about 20 seconds of one another. The Action Express car had a fuel connector come loose and lost three laps getting towed back to the pits to have it reattached, but was back in the lead 18 hours in. The No. 01 Ganassi car dropped out with recurring clutch problems 22 hours in, retiring not long after. A race-within-the-race is where the concluding action happened, a seven minute, 30-second dash from the end of the last caution to the checkered flag. During the penultimate pit stops with an hour to go, Dixon was in second place followed Jordan Taylor in the Wayne Taylor Racing DP into the pits but beat him out, taking the lead. The Action Express car was in third. In the last pit stops of the race, Dixon gained even more time, getting a four-second advantage over Taylor. Then a full-course caution came out twenty minutes before the finish when a Prototype Challenge car hit the wall and caught fire, bunching up the field. That closed the pits, but the Wayne Taylor Racing car had to pit during that yellow because of a miscalculation of driver time. No driver can be behind the wheel for more than four hours in a six-hour period but Jordan Taylor was going to go over, so he came in to swap out for brother Ricky. That cost the team any chance of second place, since they took an additional drive-through penalty for entering closed pits. When the track went green again, Sebastien Bourdais in the Action Express car stayed all over Dixon for the final five laps but couldn't get around him.
