1990 Chevrolet Silverado K5 Blazer 1990 Blazer K5 V8 5.7 TBI Engine, with 700r4 Transmission. The truck has 52k miles and drives like it. The truck is solid with no Rust. The truck was bough from some local winter visitors a little over 2 years ago. The truck was like most cars that have been in Arizona for a while the paint was completely faded and I started off with a fresh paint job. The truck was originally the charcoal gray, I decided to add silver to make it stand out. I decided to go with a two tone and I get a lot of compliments from it. The paint job was done approximately December 2012 and still looks like it was done yesterday! The undercarriage was coated in chassis paint to make look new again. There is an endless amount of accessory items that have been replaced as most of what was installed in the truck was either dry rotted or just completely faded or I just wanted to make it look new again. The interior was in good shape but decided to get a new carpet, and redo the seats and headliner/visors to make it look new again as the old carpet and seats were faded and had some stains. I have done my very best to get my mechanic to correct any oil leaks it had. As of right now I haven't noticed any oil leaks. The pictures should speak for themselves. I would have no problem driving this truck anywhere, it has low miles and has brand new tires that still have nubs on them. The jack and handle and windshield wipers are not in the pictures but I do have them and will install them before the truck sells. We get about 1/2 inch of rain per year so the chances of needing the wipers in Yuma are slim to none so when the truck was painted I didn't put them back on. The truck has stock cruise control, A/C and it all works! Even the stereo is original, it has never been cut and wiring is still as original and stock as it can be. I have had my fun with it driving it (drove very little) and restoring it.. I actually rarely even drive it therefore I'm deciding to free up some space in the garage and add some money back into the savings account by selling some of my toys that I don't play much with. Here is a list of some new parts within the last year: Windshield Rear Glass Door Weather Strip Door Glass Weather Strip Camper shell Weather Strip Door Panel Aluminum Inserts Door Carpet Kit Carpet Kit Seat Upholstery Dome Lens Silverado Shell Emblems Side Moldings Wheel Arch Moldings Rear Quarter Panels (Interior Upholstery) BF Goodrich 32x11.50x15 Tires x 4 Fuel Pump Rally Center Caps Sill Plates Spark Plugs Spark Plug Wires Distributor Cap/Rotor Oil Change on 5/20- approximately 100 miles since last oil change Air Filter Gasoline Filter Windshield Wipers A/C 134 Conversion Serpentine Belt Battery Differential Oil Change Valve Cover Gaskets Valve Stem Seals The not so good: Driver Door window goes up and down like it should but the Passenger Door Window and Rear window are slow to go up and down but DO go up and down, I have not replaced those window motors (this was in my list to do next but never bothered me enough to change them). The truck only has speakers in the dash. When i had the rear quarter panels done I didn't install speakers as I wanted to do a custom stereo system. The interior quarter panels are a blank canvas to add the speakers and stereo system of your choice. Also, it is barely noticeable in the pictures but the rear bumper does have some minor dents in it, I never considered replacing because it is barely noticeable. The dash pad does have a couple hair line cracks as most trucks this age do. PLEASE NOTE: There is a mileage discrepancy in the CarFax due to the DMV assuming it had 152k miles instead of the 52k miles it actually has. The speedometer goes up to 6 digits. I have an appointment with the DMV this week to fix this issue, they have to do an inspection and I have to provide the documentation that shows the actual mileage. The Carfax clearly shows that the truck only has 52k+ miles as well as the history that was given to me when i purchased it. I have worked on the truck for the last 2 years but have driven it very very little. Maybe about 300-400 miles total. (I didn't drive it much to not add miles to it). I drove it locally to a car meets and such but most of the time I transported the truck on a flatbed to keep the miles low. I am not a mechanic, please come and inspect the truck, ask for more pictures or simply send me an email with whatever questions you might have. Please email me any questions you might have and I will try to respond promptly. Please note that the deposit is NON-REFUNDABLE. Please ONLY bid if you intend to buy. Thanks again and happy bidding! |

Chevy preparing new Camaro ZL1 Convertible?
Wed, Feb 3 2016It's a given that when an automaker introduces a new performance model, it's only a matter of time before an even hotter variant arrives. The Ford Mustang begets the Shelby GT350 and the Dodge Challenger R/T spawns the SRT 392 and Hellcat. And for Chevrolet, that progression sees the Camaro SS evolve into the ZL1. That's probably what our spies have captured here. The convertible variant of GM's most powerful Camaro is betrayed not by its big, black wheels or quad exhaust tips – both of those items have been fitted to the far tamer 1LE in the past – but by its brakes. To put it simply, they're enormous. The old ZL1 had 14.6-inch rotors in front and 14.4-inchers in the back, with Brembo-branded six-piston calipers up front and four-piston binders at the rear. While the overall size of the calipers doesn't appear to have changed much, it looks like the rotors – especially in front – seem to take up a larger space inside the front wheels than in last year's model. Perhaps Chevy moved to a straight 15-inch rotor? It's difficult to discern any more from these images, though. Chevy did a fine job with the camouflage, making it difficult to pick out ZL1-specific body parts. From the rear spoiler to the front fascia to the side sills, each body piece looks like it's the same as the standard Camaro or is just completely obscured. If this is a Camaro ZL1, it seems like Chevy may have just stuffed the vital organs inside the body of more pedestrian droptop. According to our spies, it's unlikely that Chevy will mix things up under the hood. Expect the 6.2-liter, supercharged V8 from the Corvette Z06 and Cadillac CTS-V to move the ZL1 from 550 horsepower to around 640 ponies when it debuts for model year 2017. A six-speed manual transmission will be standard, while the Camaro's big brother will probably donate its eight-speed automatic. Artist imagines eerie world where cars have no wheels
Thu, 24 Jan 2013The wheel ranks right up there with the telescope and four-slice toaster in the pantheon of inventions that have moved humankind forward. But what if a circle in three dimensions had never occurred to anyone, and we all had just moved on without it? Perhaps we'd be driving around in Lucas Motors Landspeeders with anti-gravity engines. Or maybe we'd have the same cars we do today, just without wheels.
That's the thought experiment that seems to have led French photographer Renaud Marion to create his six-image series called Air Drive. The shots depict cars throughout many eras of motoring that look normal except for one thing: they have no wheels. The models used include a Jaguar XK120, Cadillac DeVille (shown above), Chevrolet El Camino and Camaro, and Mercedes-Benz SL and 300 roadsters.
Perhaps one day when our future becomes our past, you'll be able to walk the street and see with your own eyes the rust and patina of age on our nation's fleet of floating cars. Until then, Monsieur Marion's photographs will have to do.
GM follows Ford and Honda in skipping SEMA
Fri, May 20 2022The list of automakers skipping SEMA has become longer. First reported by Muscle Cars and Trucks, and confirmed to us by a company representative, General Motors will not have an official presence at the aftermarket show. It joins Ford and Honda in leaving the show. It will be a large hole in the show, with the GM brands typically filling a significant swath of available show space in one of the main halls. GM hasn't provided much explanation for the move, either. The GM representative provided Autoblog with the same statement that Muscle Cars and Trucks got: "GM has made the decision not to participate in the 2022 SEMA Show. The SEMA show has always inspired us, and accessories and performance parts remain an important part of our business." We also asked if we would see any sort of announcements around the time of the show — Ford said it has plans to share some things around that time — however, the GM representative said that the company has no immediate plans for announcements. Certainly things could change between now and the November show, though. SEMA had previously noted that other exhibitors would help fill in some of the space vacated by these major OEMs. Another OEM, Volkswagen, is returning to the show after an absence, which will also help with the display deficit.
