I have owned this Blazer over 20 years and have decided to sell it to make room for other projects. I completed a frame off restoration 7years ago and have only put about 3,600 miles on since then. The body was extremely clean with minimal rust but I completely stripped it down and blasted the main body, doors and frame. The hood is a new Goodmark 2" cowl hood, new fenders core support, inner fenders and GM grill, new bumpers. The color is a 1998 Chevrolet Truck color "Emerald Green Metallic" and the seats are out of a 1995 suburban with the factory quick release adapted to the bed. The engine was professionally overhauled and is the original 350 bored thirty thousands, has an Edelbrock perfomer cam and intake with a Thunder AVS carburetor. The transmission is a turbo 350 that was overhauled as well with a shift kit installed. The headers are Flowtec, (I still have the exhaust manifolds) with an aluminized 2.25" exhaust with Flowmasters. I replaced all the trim and emblems with new vent window assemblies and windshield. Has a factory tach gauge cluster with tilt wheel, I replaced the speedometer, gas gauge and fuel sender but the gas gauge is not reading the correct levels. I have the fiberglass factory top but never restored it because I like driving it has a convertible and did not want to scratch up the top of the bed rails. I do have all new seals and weatherstrips including the window rubbers that go with the truck. It is a factory a/c truck and I have the original components as well but never got around to installing it, I would put a vintage air kit anyway. It has factory power steering and the original power assist front and rear drum brake setup that works as good as new. The front differential is the original Dana 44 and GM 12 bolt rearend with 3.07 gears in an open differential. This Blazer is a blast to drive and gets a lot of attention everytime I take it out for a spin. Thanks for looking!

Even if GM does close all 5 of those plants, it'll still have too many
Wed, Nov 28 2018DETROIT — General Motors' monumental announcement on Monday that it will close three car assembly plants and two powertrain plants in North America and slash its workforce will only partially close the gap between capacity and demand for the automaker's sedans, according to a Reuters analysis of industry production and capacity data. Sales of traditional passenger cars in North America have been declining for the past six years and are still withering. After GM ends production next year at factories in Michigan, Ohio and Ontario, it will still have four U.S. passenger-car plants — all operating at less than 50 percent of rated capacity, according to figures supplied by LMC Automotive. In comparison, Detroit-based rivals Ford and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles will have one car plant each in North America after 2019. The Detroit Three are facing rapidly dwindling demand for traditional passenger cars from U.S. consumers, many of whom have shifted to crossovers and trucks. Passenger cars accounted for 48 percent of retail light-vehicle sales in the United States in 2014, according to market researchers at J.D. Power and Associates. This year, sedans will account for less than a third of light vehicle sales. That shift in turn has left most North American car plants operating far below their rated capacities, while many SUV and truck plants are running on overtime. The collapse in passenger-car demand is a challenge for nearly all automakers in the United States, including Japan's Toyota and Honda, which have the top-selling models in the compact and midsize car segments. Toyota executives said last month they are evaluating the company's U.S. model lineup. But Toyota also plans to build compact Corolla sedans at a new $1.6 billion factory it is building in Alabama with partner Mazda. The obstacles facing GM in its plans to close more auto factories became apparent on Tuesday as U.S. President Donald Trump threatened to block payment of government electric vehicle subsidies to GM. While it is not certain that Trump unilaterally has the power to do that, he made it clear he intends to use his office to pressure the company to keep open a small car plant in Ohio that GM says will stop building vehicles in March.

GMC Envoy could be returning as GM files for 'Envoy' trademark
Thu, Dec 27 2018The GMC Envoy could be on its way back, if a recent GM trademark filing is any indication of the future. To be exact, GM's trademark filing is for the name "Envoy," and is applicable to "motor vehicles, namely, sport utility vehicles, engines therefor and structural parts thereof." A victim of the recession and high gas prices, the original Envoy – related to the Blazer, and more recently the TrailBlazer and similar GM SUVs – was discontinued after the 2009 model year. In today's SUV-happy market of low gas prices, unearthing the somewhat familiar Envoy name makes a certain amount of sense. As soon as gas prices start trending in the other direction, we'll all be saying the opposite, though. What this SUV will take shape as is the big question now. With the Chevrolet Blazer well and truly on its way, there's every reason for a GMC version of Chevy's stylish new crossover sporting the Envoy name. Another, less likely, possibility is a Traverse-sized vehicle to slot between the shorter Acadia (10 inches shorter than the Chevy Traverse) and the body-on-frame Yukon. GM could come out of left field and make the Envoy a Buick too. It fits the bill with the "En" beginning, and Buick undoubtedly has crossovers in the works. We think that's even more unlikely, but it's important to remember that we're still in the speculation phase. Soon we'll drive Chevy's new Blazer, and perhaps have more news then. Check in next week for that. Related video:
