SELLER REMARKS |
![]() |
When you sell as many cars as we do here at Streetside Classics, you learn a few things, and this 1955 Chevrolet 210 2-door is a good lesson in price versus quality. There are a lot of other 1955 Chevys out there, but we don't think you'll find a higher quality car for less money anywhere else, making this spectacular 210 something of a bargain.
If you're only shopping price, well, this isn't your car. But if you want the nicest car that your dollar can buy, well, please keep reading. We've gone over this car pretty carefully and can't find any glaring flaws in that gorgeous cranberry red paint. The show-quality finish simply glows in the sunlight and the incredibly straight bodywork only helps with the dazzling eyeball appeal. Great gaps, razor-sharp details like the speed lines on the front fenders, and a final polish that makes the paint look miles deep all give this car an exceptionally high-quality look. Beautiful chrome trim certainly helps, and the bumpers, grille, and other hardware is all either recently restored or replaced with exacting reproduction parts that fit right and sparkle against the red paint. The 210's simpler trim forces the bodywork to speak for itself, and when you come see this car in person, you'll know what we mean when we say it's truly exceptional.
The interior also received a tasteful makeover that preserves the 1950s vibe while adding all the creature comforts to which we've become accustomed. A newer split bench seat was covered in handsome two-tone tan upholstery and it's got power actuation, too! Matching door panels use original-looking patterns and factory hardware to create an appropriate look and the dashboard is still the twin-cockpit design that was so trend-setting in 1955. The three-spoke steering wheel is wrapped in creamy tan leather and while the factory instruments remain in the dashboard, auxiliary Stewart-Warner dials were neatly tucked into the bright band of trim running through the center. Upgrades like the neatly-installed A/C system, a tilt column, and a great-sounding AM/FM/CD stereo make this a first-rate cruiser and even the trunk was fully upholstered to match, suggesting that no corners were cut in the car's construction.
If you're going to drive, you need reliability and nothing delivers like a 350 cubic inch Chevy crate motor. Dressed in plenty of polished aluminum, the neatly detailed engine bay is easy to service and looks great for those times when you open the hood at a gas station and catch an admirer or two. A big aluminum radiator keeps it cool under almost any conditions and the Holley carburetor and aluminum intake help build horsepower. Power front disc brakes, a beefy TH400 3-speed automatic transmission, a stout Ford 9-inch with 3.50 gears inside, plus a great-sounding custom dual exhaust system are other pieces of the puzzle that make this car a fantastic driver. Most of the suspension pieces were powdercoated for durability and since this car was built to drive, there are big sway bars fore and aft, as well as a new gas tank and modern shocks. A set of Torque Thrust wheels add a period performance look and carry staggered BFG radials for a very cool stance.
This is one of those cars that you just couldn't come close to duplicating for the price. So yes, you can find cheaper Shoeboxes, but if quality matters, then this car is going to blow you away. Call today!

Just looking at the new 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, it's not hard to see that the car's design was created with aerodynamics at the forefront, but Chevrolet designers point out exactly what went into designing the iconic coupe in a pair of recently released videos. The videos show the Corvette going through early design phases, including clay models and wind tunnel tests, as well as talking to the car's chief engineer, Tadge Juechter.
Both videos help explain various aspects of the C7 Corvette, but it's the aero tuning of the car that is most interesting. This includes extra attention paid to the lower air dam and vented hood to help reduce drag and lift, while the rear quarter inlets are for differential and transmission cooling. Juechter said that some of these aero-tuned elements were inspired from GM's involvement in racing.
If you have about five minutes and you can't get enough information about the new 'Vette, then check out the videos posted below.

"It looks like a Volt had an evening of regrets with an i3." That's AutoblogGreen editor-in-chief Sebastian Blanco talking about the car you see here, the 2017 Chevy Bolt. Our trusty spy photographers caught the new Bolt EV fully uncovered at a photo shoot, ahead of its official debut at the Consumer Electronics Show in January. To say the styling looks familiar would be an understatement. There's a lot of Volt elements here, and the nod to the BMW i3 is definitely valid. It's not unattractive, it's just sort of, well, there. Never mind, the Bolt will have a lot going for it when it launches, should earlier rumors come to fruition. The hatchback is expected to have a 200-mile electric range, and should cost right around $30,000 after incentives. The Bolt will be built in Michigan, and will likely arrive at dealers in early 2017. Chevy knows this one's going to be huge, and the company is fully committed to launching and marketing the Bolt the right way. We'll have the full details in January at CES. For now, feast your eyes on His Boltness in the gallery above. Let us know what you think about it, in the Comments.

Two of Detroit's own are ensnared in controversy today. In an interview with Fox News' Megyn Kelly, mulleted musician Kid Rock told those protesting the Confederate Battle Flag to "kiss my ass." Now, Chevrolet, which is sponsoring Rock's summer concert tour, is under fire for its support. "We are committed to our sponsorship of Kid Rock's summer tour and are confident that he will provide his fans, many of whom are proud Chevrolet owners, with a spectacular concert experience that celebrates American Freedom," a Chevy spokesperson told The Detroit Free Press last week. The company also uses the Kid Rock anthem Born Free in its pickup truck advertising. The company's position is not sitting well with the Detroit chapter of the National Action Network, though, which has called on GM to pull its support for the embattled artist. "It's obvious to us that, by supporting [Rock], while he's making inflammatory statements, General Motors becomes an accomplice if they allow him their support to stand behind his statements," the Rev. Charles Williams II, NAN's Detroit chapter director, told the Freep. As controversial as Rock's comments are, it's not entirely clear when the last time he actually waved that flag was. The Freep reports that several concertgoers don't recall seeing the flag during his most recent tour, or even over the last few years of concerts. In a 2002 interview with the paper, Rock, real name Robert Ritchie, said that the flag had been used as a symbol of southern rock and a rebel spirit, saying: "It's not about hatred or being a racist. I like Southern rock music, and a lot of people died under that flag for beliefs they had, right or wrong. But it stands for rebel, and my love of Southern rock." Related Video:
