1991 Chevrolet V2500 Suburban Silverado Sport Utility 4-door 5.7l on 2040-cars
Torrance, California, United States
| 1991 SuburbanV2500 4x4 1GN6V26K0MF113137 5.7 liter TBI This is a good condition V2500 Suburban. California weather has been good to it (no rust), but the sun has faded the paint and the clear coat is flaking off in some areas. The plastic chrome strip molding is cracked and peeling. There are some small scratches and chips in the paint. The windows have the factory tint. The front passenger and rear window motors operate slowly. Strict California smog certification is required every two years and it always passes with no problem. I am the 3rd owner (purchased in March, 2004). I have all receipts and documents, including repair orders and documents from the previous owner. We have all taken exceptional care of this truck. The Engine was replaced in 11/07 with a new Blueprint BP38302CT crate motor. See the link at blueprintengines.com/index.php/gm-383-bp38302ct serial number 250088. The transmission was rebuilt at 120,888 miles in 12/11 by Cres-O-Matic Transmission, Hawaiian Gardens, CA. See the link at longbeachtransmissionrepair.com. It is still under warranty (until 12/14). I've driven less than 3,000 miles since the trans rebuild. This is a good, strong running truck. It is not driven daily, typically only used 3 holiday weekends a year for recreation. It doesn't get used as much as it should and that is why I am selling it. Feel free to email me or call me direct with any questions: (310) 600-1632 Aside from the engine and transmission, other parts replaced include: > 4 tires in 7/2009 (Dunlop A/T Radial Rover) > Front wheel bearings replaced at the time of new tires 7/2009 > 4 Bilstein shocks > Complete exhaust system (Edelbrock headers, Flowmaster exhaust,) > Brakes (calipers, cylinders, master - system flushed every 3 years) > Radiator (454), high flow water pump, fan clutch > TBI & all emission components & fuel pump > Alternator (Powermaster) > Starter motor (Jegs) > Power steering box, power steering pump, and steering column shaft > Distributor & coil (MSD) > Air conditioning compressor and system rebuild |

GM may kill 6 car models as it works with UAW to tackle sales slump
Fri, Jul 21 2017The president of the United Auto Workers union said on Thursday the union is talking with General Motors about the potential threat to plants and jobs from slumping U.S. car sales. GM's response will be more trucks and SUVs, and sources say at least six slow-selling car models may be killed off. "We are talking to (GM) right now about the products that they currently have" at underused car plants such as Hamtramck in Michigan and Lordstown in Ohio, and whether they might be replaced with newer, more popular vehicles such as crossovers, Dennis Williams told reporters. "We are tracking it (and) we are addressing it," Williams added. GM has cut shifts at several U.S. plants this year as inventories of unsold cars have ballooned. Industry analysts said more jobs could be at risk as the automaker wrestles with permanently shrinking production of small and midsized sedans. GM is reviewing whether to cancel at least six passenger cars in the U.S. market after 2020, including the Chevrolet Volt hybrid, which could be replaced in 2022 with a new gasoline-electric crossover model, Reuters has learned from people familiar with the plans. Other GM cars at risk include the Buick LaCrosse, Cadillac CT6, Cadillac XTS, Chevrolet Impala and Chevrolet Sonic, sources said. Some analysts have singled out GM's Hamtramck plant in Detroit as one of the most vulnerable because of plummeting car sales. The plant, which opened in 1985, builds four slow-selling models: Buick LaCrosse, Chevrolet Impala, Cadillac CT6 and Chevrolet Volt. In the first half, it built fewer than 35,000 cars, down 32 percent from the same period in 2016, according to suppliers familiar with GM's U.S. production schedule. The typical GM assembly plant builds 200,000-300,000 vehicles a year.COMING ATTRACTIONS: TRUCKS AND SUVS GM must "create some innovative new products" to replace slow-selling sedans "or start closing plants," said Sam Fiorani, vice president of AutoForecast Solutions. The auto maker already has begun to shift future production plans from cars to trucks, according to Morgan Stanley auto analyst John Murphy. He estimates that fewer than 10 percent of the new vehicle models that GM will introduce over the next four years will be passenger cars, with the rest divided among trucks, SUVs and crossovers. GM plans to add production of the new Cadillac XT4 crossover next year to its Malibu sedan plant in Fairfax, Kansas.

Leaked GM document shows GMC Sierra I6 diesel is more powerful than F-150's
Thu, Oct 4 2018GM told us earlier this year that the 2019 GMC Sierra would be getting a 3.0-liter I6 diesel option, but it never mentioned power or fuel economy figures. Hold the phone though, because a leaked GM Canada document just showed up online that lists out the details we've been waiting for. Originally published by TFL Truck, the 3.0-liter oil-burner supposedly makes 282 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque. For those who are counting, that's more than the Ford F-150's 250 horsepower and 440 pound-feet from its 3.0-liter diesel. It soundly bests the 240 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque from Ram's 3.0-liter diesel as well. Fuel economy is another story, though. The promotional material states that it will get 28 mpg on the highway, which is 2 mpg short of the F-150's 30 mpg — mind you, it's only capable of that magical 30 mpg figure in rear-wheel drive form. There's another caveat here, too; these are numbers for Canada, so they're not exactly finalized EPA figures. However, we wouldn't expect drastic differences between the two when the American numbers come out. The leaked documents also state the diesel Sierra will be capable of towing 7,800 pounds. That number seems remarkably low when compared to the F-150, which can tow up to 11,400 pounds with its diesel. Extra power and torque would have us assume that GM could get even better numbers than Ford, so we're going to hold our final judgment for official word. A 10-speed automatic will do the shifting on the diesel, just like on the 6.2-liter V8. Since the Chevy Silverado is also expected to get this engine, we can assume the figures would be almost, if not identical, to those we see here. We recently drove the 2019 Sierra and Silverado without the diesel engines, so go check those reviews out if you'd like to know more of our thoughts on the redesigned GM trucks.
