I PURCHASED THIS 2009 CHEVY DUMP NEW IN JANUARY OF 2010.  IT HAS BEEN A VERY DEPENDABLE VEHICLE. I RECENTLY STARTED A NEW JOB WHICH REQUIRES ME TO TRAVEL AND I NEED TO PURCHASE A MORE FUEL EFFICIENT VEHICLE.  MY PREVIOUS JOB WAS ONLY 1.5 MILES FROM WHERE I LIVE WHICH IS A MAJOR REASON FOR THE LOW MILES.  THE BOSS V-BLADE SNOWPLOW AND CONTRACTORS DUMP BED WERE INSTALLED AT THE DEALER NEW AND READY WHEN I LEFT THE LOT.  I PLOWED MY PARENTS AND GRANDPARENTS DRIVEWAYS AND OUR LOCAL CHURCH LOT.  THE BLADE HAS SEEN SEEN AVERAGE TO LESS THAN AVERAGE USE BECAUSE OUR PAST TWO WINTERS HAVE BEEN VERY MILD.  IF YOU HAVE NEVER HAD A V-BLADE IT IS AWESOME.  YOU CAN V IT BACK TO PLOW A ONE LANE NARROW DRIVE OR STREET IN A DEEP SNOW MORE EASILY.  THIS ALLOWS THE SNOW TO FALL OFF BOTH SIDES AND MAKES A SMALLER PILE PLUS IT IS EASIER ON YOUR TRUCK.  YOU CAN ALSO V IT FORWARD AND TAKE ALL THE SNOW WITH YOU IN A SPECIFIC AREA IF NEEDED.  YOU CAN ALSO ANGLE BOTH HALVES OF THE BLADE TO FORM A STRAIGHT BLADE AND PLOW CONVENTIONALLY IF PREFERRED.  BOSS HAS AN AWESOME ATTACHMENT SYSTEM AS WELL.  IT HAS THE RT3 MOUNT.  YOU UNPLUG TWO WIRES AND THROUGH TWO LEVERS AND SIMPLY BACK UP.  PUTTING IT ON IS JUST AS SIMPLE.  THE BLADE ALSO HAS A FACTORY FLAP WHICH I ADDED THAT KEEPS SNOW FROM BLOWING OVER THE BLADE AND ONTO YOUR WINDSHIELD.  THE TAILGATE SPREADER PICTURED IS AN OLDER SNOW-EX 575 WITH A NEWER DRIVE MOTOR AND A VIBRATOR.  IT WILL BE INCLUDED WITH THE TRUCK IF IT SELLS FOR THE BUY IT NOW PRICE.

PROS:    THE TRUCK WAS PURCHASED NEW AT COUGHLIN CHEVY IN POLLSAKI OHIO NEAR COLUMBUS.  IT HAS NEVER BEEN WRECKED.  IT HAS BEEN SERVICED BY THE BOOK AND THE OIL HAS BEEN CHANGED WHEN PROMPTED AND BEFORE EVER REACHING EACH 5000 MILE INTERVAL.  I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER.  IT ALSO HAS A FULL SIZE BUD WHEEL SPARE, FRONT AND REAR DOT APPROVED FLASHING LIGHTS IN THE BED, UNDER-THE-BED TRUCK TOOL BOX, FACTORY CHEVY FRONT FENDER MUD FLAPS, TINTED WIDOW RAIN GAURDS, AND TREATED SIDE AND REAR BED EXTENDER BOARDS FOR HAULING DEBRIS AND OR MULCH.

CONS:   THE TIRES WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED BEFORE NEXT WINTER.  IT HAS A SMALL CRACK IN THE PLASTIC ON THE RIGHT FRONT BUMPER COVER AND THE PASSENGER SIDE MIRROR IS CRACKED. A LIMB HIT THE BUMPER AND MIRROR DURING A SNOW STORM BUT NO DENTS TO THE BODY OCURED.   THE AIR BAG LIGHT IS ON.  THIS DOES NOT MEAN THE AIR BAG WILL DEPLOY WITHOUT REASON.  I WAS TOLD IT WAS A BAD SENSOR CAUSED BY THE SNOW BLADE.  I AM CURRENTLY DISPUTING THIS WITH GM BECAUSE THEY INSTALLED THE BLADE AND I FILLED A WARRANTY CLAIM ON THIS ISSUE BEFORE THE 3YR / 36K MILE BUMPER TO BUMPER EXPIRED.

THIS TRUCK IS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION AND HAS LOW MILEAGE AND USE. KELLY AND NADA VALUE OF THE TRUCK ALONE IS STILL HIGHER THAN THE BUY IT NOW SO THAT'S LIKE GETTING THE BLADE AND SPREADER FOR FREE!  I AM STILL DRIVING THE VEHICLE SO THE MILEAGE COULD BE SLIGHTLY HIGHER THAN WHEN I LISTED.   IT IS FINANCED CURRENTLY THRU ALLY(GM).   I WILL ACCEPT CASH, PAYPAL, OR CERTIFIED CHECK BUT PAYMENT MUST BE VERIFIED AND CLEARED BEFORE TRANSFER.  I WILL WORK WITH YOU IF YOU WANT TO VIEW THE TRUCK OR MAKE DELIVERY ARRANGEMENTS.  THE TRUCK IS FOR SALE LOCALLY SO I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO END THIS AUCTION.  FEEL FREE TO CONTACT ME ANYTIME OR CALL 304-673-0943 WITH ANY ?'S.

Camaro spy shots show subtly different grille, front fascia

Sun, 03 Feb 2013

It looks like there some changes in store for the Chevrolet Camaro - the only thing is that we just don't know what Chevy has up its sleeve. Looking at these spy shots, we'd initially be inclined to think that there is just a minor facelift or a new special edition, but upon closer inspection, there are a few oddities about this car that definitely have us intrigued.
The most obvious difference on this prototype is the slightly restyled front fascia with a smaller lower air inlet and the two-bar grille. Then we get to some of the car's mysterious details. For starters, this fascia has the SS vent above the grille, but it looks to be blocked off. Granted this could just be a one-off piece used for testing. What really piqued our interest was at the rear of the car where it has quad exhaust outlets that are used on the ZL1. Could this be the LS7-powered Camaro that we reported on back in December?
At this point, your guess is as good as ours as to what we're looking at here, so let us know in the comments what you think this could be.

GM to idle car production at five factories as Americans continue CUV love affair

Mon, Dec 19 2016

In case you needed another reminder that Americans have fallen out of love with sedans, General Motors today announced plans to idle five factories in January in a bid to cut its inventory to 70 days. Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly ( Buick LaCrosse, Cadillac CT6, Chevrolet Volt and Impala) and Fairfax Assembly in Kansas ( Chevy Malibu) will stop production for three weeks. Lansing Grand River ( Cadillac ATS and CTS, and Chevy Camaro) is going down for two weeks, while Lordstown, OH ( Chevy Cruze) and Bowling Green, KY ( Chevy Corvette) will go idle for a week each, Automotive News reports. GM's shutdown reflects a broader problem with the company's supply – at 847,000 vehicles, the company's supply increased unsteadily from a low of 629,000 units in January of 2016. That's more than a 25 percent increase in the past year. Citing information from Autodata, The Detroit News reports that at the end of November, GM had a 168-day supply of LaCrosses, 177 days' worth of Camaro, 170 days of Corvette, 121 days for Cruze, 119 days for ATS, 132 days for CTS, and 110 days of CT6. Meanwhile, inventory of the company's more popular vehicles is actually below the professionally accepted 60- to 70-day supply, The News reports. The Trax, Colorado pickup, and GM's full-size SUVs are sitting below 50 days and experiencing year-over-year sales increases. GM needs a rethink of its inventory levels, which is something that's apparently coming. "We're going to be responsible in managing our inventory levels," GM spokesman Jim Cain told The News. Another unnamed spokesman told Automotive News the company's day-to-day supplies would "fluctuate before moderating at year-end." But at least one analyst thinks this won't be the last time Detroit needs to stop production to level things out. "Incentives are elevated, residuals are declining, and rates are rising," Brian Johnson, an analyst with Barclays, told The News. "And while GM in particular may benefit in the months ahead from new product launches, it's important to recognize that GM's inventory is elevated at the moment, and it wouldn't surprise us if they need to announce another production cut – which could pressure the stock." 2015 Chevrolet Trax

Thu, Dec 4 2014

After the obligatory product presentation for the 2015 Trax, I caught up with Steve Majoros, Chevrolet's director of marketing for crossovers and cars, and asked him to elaborate on which markets his planners believe will be the hot starters for this tiny CUV. Without much hesitation, Majoros began to click off traditional sales havens for Subaru, namely, New England and the snowy bits of the East Coast, Colorado and the Pacific Northwest. That news might not surprise you, but it did me. Perhaps it's something as basic as the Trax's tall-hatchback looks, or the emphasis Chevrolet put on the urban driving cycle during my test in San Diego. But before my chat with Majoros, I'd considered this a crossover pointed at the Millennial city mouse more than his bumpkin cousin. But a closer look had me re-examining the granola cred of Chevy's smallest crossover. Having spent my fair share of time in New England and around New Englanders, I started by mentally listing the Trax's Subaru-like traits: practicality, thrift, all-weather ability and, well, just a dash of ugliness. (I suppose a hatchback needn't always be ugly to sell in Maine, or Boulder or Portland... but a 'distinctive' face doesn't seem to hurt.) After a day of driving through sunny San Diego and its surroundings, I can say that Trax makes an interesting case for itself against the standard bearers of the L.L. Bean set, but I'm less sure of its argument for young urbanites. The Trax looks a lot like an Equinox whose suit shrunk in the wash. Chevy's has downsized its own, rather conservative crossover styling to fit the proportions of the subcompact Trax; to my eyes, it looks a lot like an Equinox whose suit shrunk in the wash. That's fine for offering a cohesive look for the Chevy family of crossovers, but it seems out of step with the rest of the segment. If the Trax's current competitive set were the cast of a high school-based TV show, the Kia Soul would play the lovable nerd, the Nissan Juke perhaps the outsider musician and the Subaru XV Crosstrek the athletic outdoorsy kid. Chevy may see the Trax as the hipster chick wearing intentionally ironic mom jeans, but to me the styling is a little too on the nose; more like an actual grownup trying to hang with the kids. These mom jeans are genuine. Per my earlier point, that quasi-conservative look may be just fast enough for staid New Englanders, but I have a hard time seeing the bluff, big-Bowtied front end playing in Bushwick or Wicker Park.
