RARE CUSTOM CHEVY SILVERADO 2500 EXTENDED CREW CAB 3 ROW SEATING 4X4 V8 GAS FLATBED TRUCK. ONE OF THE COOL CUSTOM THINGS ON THIS TRUCK BESIDES THE EXTENDED CAB IS THE REAR AIR BAG SUSPENSION (NO REAR LEAFS). IT ALSO HAS A CUSTOM FUEL TANK AND ALUMINIUM FLATBED WITH GOOSENECK HITCH. THE TRUCK HAS FOUR LARGE DOORS (THE EXTENDED CAB DOESN'T HAVE DOORS). THE TRUCK HAS TORSION KEYS PUT IN FRONT AND BLOCKS IN REAR WITH 2" BODY LIFT TO HANDLE THE SUPER SWAMPER DIRECTIONAL IROK 33 TIRES WITH WELD RACING WHEELS AND SPARE TO MATCH. IT ALSO HAS A SUNROOF ABOVE 3RD ROW SEAT AND LEATHER IN 2ND ROW THAT FOLDS DOWN. THE TRUCK IS NOT PERFECT THOUGH AND HAS A FEW THINGS THAT NEED TO BE ADDRESSED (LISTED BELOW). THE TRUCK DOES HAVE POWER WINDOWS AND DOOR LOCK BUT NO POWER SEAT OR CRUISE. A/C BLOWS COLD.

HISTORY- THE TRUCK CAME FROM CALIFORNIA IN 2012 WITH 6,255 MILES ON IT AND SAT IN MY GARAGE IN UPSTATE NY UNTIL I HAD THE FRAME EXTENDED AND PUT THE FLAT BED ON IT TO MEET MY NEEDS IN WEST VIRGINIA FOR A JOB BACK IN MARCH. THE TRUCK HAS NEVER SEEN SNOW AND SAT ON A MOVIE SET FOR YEARS IN HOLLYWOOD AS A CAMERA VEHILCE UNTIL I PURCHASED IT AND HAD IT SHIPPED TO NY. IT HAD A BIG CAMERA BOOM ON IT THAT WAS REMOVED AND I USED THE BASE TO HOLD MY SPARE TIRE. THE TRUCK IS CURRENTLY NEAR CLARKSBURG,WV AND READY TO GO. THE MILES WILL CHANGE A LITTLE BECAUSE I STILL DRIVE IT. BEING IT WAS USED TO HAUL CAMERA CREWS AND EQUIPMENT THE COMPANY DID A FEW THINGS TO IT THAT STILL NEED TO BE ADDRESSED.

THE ISSUES- THE TRUCK DOES HAVE A FEW SCATCHES AND DENTS IN IT THAT WERE NOT CAUSED BY ME BUT I HAVE THE PAINT FOR THE REPAIR. THE SHOP THAT EXTENDED FRAME AND PUT FLATBED ON SANDBLASTED THE ALUM. BED FOR SOME REASON. THE WELD WHEELS WHERE PAINTED BLACK IN CA AND WHEN I STRIPPED THEM THE CHROME STARTED PEELING AND FLAKING.THE PREVIOUS OWNER REMOVED PASSENGER AIR BAG SO I PURCHASED ONE AND IT WOULD NEED TO BE INSTALLED. IT ALSO HAS A LIGHT HITCH ON BACK END SO IF YOU EVER WERE TO PULL A HEAVY BUMPER PULL TRAILER YOU WILL HAVE TO BEEF IT UP. I ALSO HAVE BUSHWAKER WIDER FRONT FENDERS FLARES FOR IT. CARPET IS ABOUT 3 INCHES SHORT OF COMING TO 3RD ROW SEAT. NO FRONT HEAD RESTS. NO REAR SEAT BELTS ON OUTER 2ND ROW.

THE TRUCK IS USED AND I'M SELLING IT AS IS WITH NO WARRANTIES OR GUARANTEES. BUYER WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR SHIPPING (I WILL NOT DELIVER TRUCK). I HAVE THE TRUCK LISTED ELSE WHERE AND HAVE THE RIGHT TO END AUCTION EARLY. I HAVE 100% FEEDBACK AND WANT TO KEEP IT THAT WAY SO I HAVE DESCRIBED THE TRUCK THE BEST I CAN BUT AS I HAVE NOTED IT'S USED AND NEEDS A FEW THINGS. I WILL REQUIRE A $500 DEPOSIT AT AUCTION END AND BALANCE DUE WITHIN 7 DAYS OF AUCTION CLOSE OR CASH UPON PICK UP. IF YOU DON'T HAVE THE MONEY DON'T BID, I KNOW SOME BANKS DON'T LOAN MONEY FOR OLDER THAN 7 YEAR OLD VEHICLES SO MAKE SURE YOU CAN PAY BEFORE BIDDING.

Former Fisker CEO has some advice for Tesla Motors

Wed, Oct 22 2014

Former Fisker Automotive CEO and ex-Chevrolet Volt vehicle-line director Tony Posawatz has some words of caution for Tesla Motors. The long-time automaker executive questions the California automaker's long-term viability – and gives some praise – in a talk with Benzinga, which you can listen to below. While the all-wheel-drive D that Tesla unveiled earlier this month in Southern California wowed a packed crowd, Posawatz (starting at around minute 4:45 in the interview) says Tesla would've been better off taking the resources it expended toward that Model S upgrade and directed them towards speeding up the development of a more affordable plug-in. Perhaps a number of investors agreed, since the company's stock fell the day after the D was announced. Posawatz says Tesla has been over-reliant on the sale of ZEV credits. Posawatz also says that Tesla has been over-reliant on the sale of zero-emissions vehicle credits in California for its earnings and questions whether the automaker will ever work at a large enough scale to sufficiently drive down costs and make consistent profits. Tesla CEO Elon Musk would take issue with this characterization. Posawatz first made his mark in the plug-in vehicle world when he was the vehicle-line director at General Motors for the Volt extended-range plug-in from 2006 to 2012. Later that year, he joined extended-range plug-in maker Fisker Automotive as its CEO, though quit that job during the summer of 2013 as the company was descending into insolvency. He joined the Electrification Coalition this past March. News Source: Benzinga Green Chevrolet Fisker Tesla Electric PHEV Tony Posawatz

PickupTrucks.com's latest test results in a familiar winner [w/video]

Wed, 19 Jun 2013

PickupTrucks.com has gone and thrown the latest batch of half-ton pickups into a cage match to see who would come out on top. The site put the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, GMC Sierra 1500, 2013 Ford F-150, Ram 1500, Toyota Tundra and Nissan Titan through a battery of tests. Those included 0-60 miles per hour acceleration, 60-0 mph deceleration, fuel economy, a hill climb, and payload and towing. They even threw the rigs on an autocross course to evaluate overall handling. Each truck was given points based on how it scored in each evaluation.
Who came out on top? Somewhat surprisingly, the 2013 Ford F-150 walked away with the gold, though fewer than 50 points separated first and fourth place. Head over to PickupTrucks.com to read the full evaluation and the final results. You may be shocked to see exactly where some of the segment's newest additions placed. You can also watch a video on the test below.

Mopar Hellephant is sold out, but here are 4 other awesome crate V8s to try

Mon, May 6 2019

Despite a relatively enormous $30,000 price tag, Mopar's 1,000-horsepower supercharged Hellephant crate engine sold out in just 48 hours. Some enthusiasts may have missed out on the crazy engine due to lack of funds, or they just assumed there would still be some Hellephants down the line. But worry not, swap-happy gearheads. There are plenty of V8s in the world to pick from, and we highlighted four favorites. They're not as powerful, but they're all cheaper, and still have a lot to offer. Mopar 6.2L Hellcrate Odds are a lot of prospective Hellephant buyers were Mopar fans to begin with, so we'll start the list with the next-most-potent offering: the Hellcrate. This is the same supercharged 6.2-liter V8 found under the hood of the Dodge Charger and Challenger Hellcats and the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk. It makes 707 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque like those cars, too. It's also about $10,000 cheaper than the Hellephant engine at $20,020, and that leftover money can be used to finish the project or for aftermarket upgrades to get it closer to the Hellephant's output. GM LS9 6.2L The Hellcrate isn't the only factory supercharged crate engine on the market. From General Motors comes the supercharged 6.2-liter LS9 V8. This is the engine that was used in the C6 Corvette ZR1. At 638 horsepower and 604 pound-feet of torque, it doesn't make as much power or torque as the Hellcrate. But it does boast a dry sump oil system. So instead of pumping oil out of a pan at the bottom, the engine uses an oil tank mounted remotely that pumps oil into the engine. This means the engine is shorter overall, and can be mounted lower for a better center of gravity. It also means that there's almost no risk of running the engine dry in hard cornering, as could happen with a normal oil sump where the oil can slosh to the side without the oil pump. Basically, it offers some major benefits if you want supercharged V8 power for a road course car. It's also a tad cheaper than the Hellcrate at $18,149. But get one while you can, because GM is only selling what's left from when it was building the C6 ZR1. Ford Aluminator 5.2XS Our pick from the Blue Oval lacks a supercharger, but it's still pretty sweet.
