See the seller's listing for full details and description of any imperfections.Seller Notes:"The truck has some body damage consisting of a large dent on the passenger side of the tailgate, a medium sized dent above the wheel well on the passenger side of the bed, and some paint chipping on the lower corners of the bed/roll pan in the rear. The gas gauge doesn't work due to the use of a aftermarket fuel cell located in the bed. The ABS system was deleted to allow the front inner fenders to be cut in order to provide enough clearance of the tires to lay frame in the front. The emergency brake was deleted as it protruded below the frame to allow the truck to lay frame. The truck can be hard to start when it's cold due to the aftermarket fuel pump but it always starts after a few tries."

I'm selling my custom 2000 Chevy S10 with the 4cyl 2.2l engine and 5 speed manual transmission. I just got the truck a couple months ago and I love it but I have to sell it for financial reasons otherwise i'd keep it. The truck was a project as most highly customized vehicles are so it needs some little things here and there to be 100% perfect but everything works and looks great as it sits. The truck has a high quality air bag suspension system that was professionally installed by the previous owner. The truck lays frame completely front and rear and looks awesome cruising down the road or layed out. This thing turns heads wherever it goes. It also has 18" chrome rims and the tires have about 60% tread left. Other custom work done to the truck includes a GMC Sonoma front end conversion with a more stylish bumper, grill, and headlights, a Chevy Blazer interior swap changing it from a bench seat to two buckets and a center console, an aftermarket 12 Gal fuel cell in the bed with a high flow inline fuel pump, a custom two tone red and black paint job with red metal flake throughout, relocated door handles to the bottom of the doors, a shaved gas door, a shaved tailgate handle, a black tonneau cover, smoked tail lights, and a Hurst T-handle shifter. The previous owner also did an electric radiator fan conversion which frees up some power and raises the gas mileage a bit. The aftermarket inline fuel pump makes the truck hard to start when it's cold so you'll have to crank it 3-5 times in the morning but it always starts. The suspension parts are all from Thorbecke Brothers, look them up they make the best parts for S10's. The front end has their tubular control arms and Airlift Dominator bags. The inner fender liners are cut to allow the truck to lay frame with 18" rims. The rear has their 5 link setup with frame notch, shocks, and Airlift Dominator bags for a high quality ride. There are 2 Viair 480C compressors hooked up to I think an 8 Gal tank in the bed. There are 8 valves for full FBSS control and a 10 switch control box in the cab that does FBSS, each corner independently, pancake, and see-saw. I believe the air line and valves are 1/2" as the truck raises and drops really fast. There are 3 air gauges in the a pillar on the drivers side for tank pressure and each bags pressure. The bad stuff is there are a couple dents, one on the passenger side of the bed above the wheel well and the passenger side of the tailgate is smashed in. The bed corners and edges of the roll pan in the back have a little cracked paint from the bed hitting the ground when dropping the truck. The gas gauge doesn't work because of the aftermarket fuel cell so I just use the trip meter when I fill up. The truck gets about 24 mpg. There is no emergency brake as the previous owner removed it because it hung below the frame and prevented the truck from laying completely. He also deleted the ABS module because it was located on the fender liner which needed to be cut in order to allow the tires to raise high enough to lay frame in the front. Other than that the truck runs and drives well. I just did a tune up (plugs and wires) and an oil change with Mobil 1 High Mileage synthetic as well as replaced the starter. The clutch grips well and the transmission shifts as it should, although the Hurst shifter is very tight and has a short throw so it takes some getting used to. The truck is overall a great summer toy and will get lots of attention wherever it goes. It's a blast to drive and with a little love it could be in perfect condition or just drive it as is and have fun.

GM tinkering with Silverado, Sierra model mix amidst strong early sales

Mon, 04 Nov 2013

Variety, as they say, is the spice of life. That's a lesson that is currently being taught to General Motors, because despite a strong showing from its 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, the General's pickup sales still can't best those of cross-town rival Ford.
With 59,163 trucks moved, GM fell just over 1,000 units short of toppling Ford, and one of the main reasons for that, according to GM's chief sales analyst, was due to a lack of variety in the engines and body styles available on dealer lots. "We are still over-weighted toward crew-cab V8 trucks. Our light-duty mix will moderate over time as our launch progresses," said Kurt McNeil.
Loading dealers with the popular combination of the 5.3-liter V8 and the four-door, Crew Cab body style was intentional during the truck's launch, but as supplies of leftover 2013 models, which are being sold at heavy incentives, are beginning to wane, both budget-conscious and high-dollar buyers are looking elsewhere instead of at the volume model pickups.

Take a close look at the guts of the Chevy Volt battery, powertrain

Sat, Aug 9 2014

Just how intimate would you like to get with the powertrain in a Chevy Volt? If you're anything like YouTube user d55guy, then spending a half hour filming yourself taking apart the battery pack, motor, inverter and more for a look inside sounds like your idea of fun. After all, this way you get to see the cooling system, the heavy safety kill switch and count up the individual cells in the battery modules. Fun! Turns out, we also enjoy languidly paced Volt dissection video goodness, and we think you might want to see it as well. So, we've embedded two videos below and if you don't have a better understanding of how the Volt is put together after watching them, well, at least you can't say we never tried to show you anything. Given that what's really happening here is the organized 'destruction' of an expensive and potentially dangerous object, let's talk safety. There's a serious disclaimer at the beginning of the videos and on the YouTube description page, but we feel the need to repeat the gist of it here: do not try this at home. The creator of the video says he is a trained engineer and has been doing things like this "for the better part of a decade," so he apparently knows what he's doing. With that in mind, watch it all below. When you're done seeing the insides of a Volt powertrain up close, if you need more filmed EV dissection/destruction, check out this video designed for first responders approaching a damaged Tesla Model S. GM might outsource vans to AM General

Thu, Nov 26 2015

General Motors will possibly boost production of the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon at the Wentzville Assembly Plant in Missouri by contracting out some commercial van manufacturing to AM General. Demand for the two midsize trucks continues to boom, and GM would like to take advantage of the strong market for them. The possible deal came to light in a letter to workers at the factory, according to Automotive News. "This potential partnership would free up production capacity and allow the organization to capitalize on our ability to build midsize trucks to further satisfy customer demand," a portion of the document allegedly said. AM General would reportedly only take over assembly of the cutaway versions of the Chevy Express and GMC Savana. Customers and critics have quickly embraced the latest Colorado and Canyon since their introduction. The Chevy just won back-to-back Motor Trend Truck of the Year awards. GM also had to add a third shift and extra workers in 2014 just to keep up with demand. The Wentzville plant even increased employment on the weekends earlier in 2015 to assemble an extra 2,000 of the trucks each month. While the two pickups boom, deliveries for the Chevy Express and GMC Savana are down 26.9 percent and 26.6 percent respectively through the first 10 months of the year. GM doesn't break out numbers for the cutaway versions, but they make up about a third of production, according to Automotive News. AM General built the Humvee for the US military and does some contract work with automakers. For example, the company's Indiana factory now produces the Mercedes-Benz R-Class for export to China. Here's hoping this potential deal will help both GM and AM General keep their factories humming. Related Video:
