1960 Chevy Apache C20 Custom 3/4 ton, 283 engine, 4 speed, 2wd, 8 cylinder, original truck except for the seats. Brakes have been gone over, but pull to the right, need adjustment. Has rare rear bumper slide out for slide in camper. Original paint, no bondo, just a few dents and rust. Has rust in door and by windshield, though this panel is available (see photos). Starts easy, runs great, valve ticks every once in a while. Plywood bed. Great truck to drive as is, low geared, had it up to 65mph, though I wouldn't want to see it at 80mph. Also a great truck to restore, these are not seen in any condition, very rare. The temperature ran a little warm on me, I think the thermostat was sticking. Radiator looks like it's been redone. Original split ring rims, and comes with after market rims and new tires. Rare factory hydraulic clutch and hand brake. As is. Call 540-514-1013 with any questions. Thanks.

GM issues stop-sale order for 2024 Chevy Colorado, GMC Canyon pickups
Tue, Feb 20 2024General Motors has issued a stop sale for the midsize 2024 Chevrolet Colorado and 2024 GMC Canyon pickups due to software problems, the Detroit Free Press reported Tuesday. The newspaper had previously reported that trucks were piling up in GM's Wentzville Assembly holding lot. Well, now we know why. As happened with the 2024 Chevy Blazer EV late last year, the midsize pickups are grounded until further notice. While GM declined to reveal the nature of the software issues to the Free Press, we've seen the chaos inflicted by the company's current digital suite manifest in the Blazer's rocky launch. In some cases, those EVs were effectively bricked (whether permanently or temporarily) by glitches that plagued the infotainment. And because modern infotainment touches virtually every aspect of vehicle operation, what might sound like a trivial issue can quickly snowball. The Edmunds test vehicle produced "the single longest list of major faults" the outlet had ever seen. Some trucks have already shipped to dealers and will remain on hold there until serviced and released; it appears GM will continue to hold trucks at its Missouri production facility until they receive software updates to address the ongoing issues. GM did not provide a timetable for software fixes or the resumption of customer deliveries.   Â
Chevy, GMC have electric pickups coming. Is Cadillac next?
Fri, Jan 7 2022GMC already has an uber-expensive electric pickup in the Hummer EV. By now you've no doubt seen the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV. It's a pickup. It's electric. It looks a little bit like an Avalanche. Hmm. You know what else was a pickup that looked a little bit like an Avalanche? Why, the Cadillac Escalade EXT, of course. Cadillac Escalade EV-T yes or no?https://t.co/R1AXThRzIG@therealautoblog @Cadillac — Byron "Don't do anything Byron says. Ever" Hurd (@Byron_AB) January 7, 2022 So, hypothetically, if Cadillac were to build an Escalade EXT with an upmarket interior, Super Cruise, a minimum of 300 miles of range, 10,000 pounds of towing capacity, a locking frunk and 5-passenger seating, plus all of the nifty doodads and gadgets we've already seen on the Silverado ... would it sell? OK, this isn't entirely hypothetical. In fact, I received a survey from Cadillac this morning asking just that. It's an interesting question. And it's one we're putting to you, the readers. So, what say you? Cadillac Escalade EV-T? Yes or no? Related video:
Consumer Reports criticizes small turbo engines for misleading performance, fuel economy claims [w/video]
Tue, 05 Feb 2013Consumer Reports has taken aim at at small-displacement, forced-induction engines, saying the powerplants don't manage to deliver on automaker fuel economy claims. Manufacturers have long held that smaller, turbocharged engines pack all power of their larger displacement cousins with significantly better fuel economy, but the research organization says that despite scoring high EPA economy numbers, the engines are no better than conventional drivetrains in both categories. Jake Fisher, director of automotive testing for Consumer Reports, says the forced induction options "are often slower and less fuel efficient than larger four and six-cylinder engines."
Specifically, CR calls out the new Ford Fusion equipped with the automaker's Ecoboost 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine. The institute's researchers found the engine, which is a $795 option over the base 2.5-liter four-cylinder, fails to match competitors in acceleration and served up 25 miles per gallon in testing, putting the sedan dead last among other midsize options.
The Chevrolet Cruze, Hyundai Sonata Turbo and Ford Escape 2.0T all got dinged for the same troubles, though Consumer Reports has found the turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder in the BMW 328i does deliver on its promises. You can check out the full press release below. You can also read the full study on the Consumer Reports site, or scroll down for a short video recap.
