1959 Chevy Big Window Step Side. This truck is totally custom from the ground up. It has tons of money spent on it but has been sitting in my shop for the last 2 years untouched. The frame is a street rod frame that has been boxed and braced. It has a 2" drop Heidts super ride 2 front end kit with the upgraded wildwood brake system. The front calipers were ordered polished and have yet to be put on. The disc brake rear end is out of a buick grand national and is attached to the frame in a four link configuration with chrome adjustable links. The body is in great shape and has had a lot of custom work done to it. The roof has been chopped three inches as well as both doors. The doors have had suicide hinges installed and refitted to the body. The bed has had a custom roll pan installed along with rear led lights installed in the pan. The drivers rear fender has been modified for a gas door. The fire wall and dash have been smoothed for additional custom look. Front bumper and grille are in great shape as you see from the pictures. Included with the truck is a rear under bed mount stainless steel fuel tank set up for a ls1 fuel pump - fuel pump is included and installed. I also have new griffin radiator with condenser yet to be installed. This truck is a great project that I will never get done. You could not buy the parts in this truck for what my buy it now is, not to mention a solid truck. The tires and wheels do not go with the truck it will be on rollers when you pick it up. I have clear Florida title in my name. I have also already purchased the front and rear custom glass along with the needed weatherstrip to install them $1900 just for the glass. I have a ls1 available at end of auction. It has 64k miles with computer and harness for an additional $2000. This is not included with the auction but can be purchased once truck is sold. Feel free to bring me offers for the truck is for sale locally. Reserve the right to end auction unless truck meets reserve then I will not end the auction. Please ask all questions prior to bidding and get permission from the powers to be. Bid to win, truck is sold as is. I have excellent feed back so ask any question and get honest answers. What is pictured is what you get so please once again if you have questions Ask.

2016 Chevy Volt will be available across Canada, unlike most of US [UPDATE]
Wed, Sep 16 2015UPDATE: The story's been updated to add a response from General Motors of Canada. It's not enough that the Toronto Blue Jays may be the most intimidating team in Major League Baseball. Now, it appears that our neighbors to the north will also have some bragging rights in regards to General Motors' Chevrolet Volt extended-range plug-in vehicle. Specifically, most of Canada will have access to the 2016 version before most of the US will. In fact, the car will be available in Canada before people can buy it in Michigan. A trip to Windsor, Ontario, anyone? The Volt, which will boast a longer plug-in range than the current version, could go on sale in Canada as soon as November, GM Authority says. The model's second-generation version may debut in California as soon as this month, and is slated to be sold later this year in the 10 other states that abide by the so-called CARB (California Air Resources Board) rules for zero-missions vehicles. Those states include Oregon, Maine, New York and Massachusetts. But not GM's home state of Michigan. Either way, the new generation model's debut can't come soon enough for the US automaker, as Volt sales in 2015 have seriously lagged the 2014 numbers because of people waiting for the new version. "We will receive the 2016 Volt in Canada this fall, starting with our key Volt markets in Quebec, Ontario and British Columbia," wrote General Motors of Canada spokesman George George Saratlic in an e-mail to AutoblogGreen. "Note these are also the three provinces that provide provincial incentives on EV purchases. We'll then roll out Volt to the rest of the country." Last week, details were revealed about the first sales of the 2016 Volt, where marketing efforts will be concentrated among the largest plug-in buying states in the union. The other 39 states will get their shot starting next year with the 2017 model-year variant. Related Video:
Vert-A-Pac train cars kept your Chevy Vega's price in check
Fri, 01 Mar 2013Our apologies to those who've seen this before, but for the rest of the class, how awesome are these pictures of the Vert-A-Pac shipping system General Motors came up with to ship the Chevrolet Vega back in the 1970s? Developed along with Southern Pacific Railroad, GM was able to double the amount of Vega models it could ship by packing them into the unique storage cars vertically.
At the time, rail cars could fit 15 vehicles each, but Chevrolet was able to lower shipping costs by making it possible to ship 30 Vegas per rail car, in turn allowing the price of the Vega to remain as low as possible. Each rail car had 30 doors that would fold down so that a Vega could be strapped on, and then a forklift would come along and lift the door into place. All the cars were positioned nose down, and since they were shipped with all of their required fluids, certain aspects had to be designed specifically for this type of shipping, including an oil baffle in the engine, a special battery and even a repositioned windshield washer reservoir. See for yourself in our image gallery above.
How long will the 'golden age' of performance last?
Sat, Mar 26 2016High-powered sports and luxury cars were everywhere at the New York Auto Show, prompting the obvious question for enthusiasts: How long will this golden age of performance last? Industry leaders have some time before regulations elevate the Corporate Average Fuel Economy level in 2025. Even then, they expect cars rippling with power to survive in some form. "Is it the end of an era," I don't think so," said Ola Kallenius, Daimler AG board member for Mercedes-Benz cars marketing and sales. "That performance element of individual mobility I don't think will ever go away." Kallenius, who oversaw the company's AMG division from 2010-2013, expects it to continue to grow. Last year, AMG sold a record 68,875 units around the world, an increase of 44.6 percent over 2014, with strong growth in the US, China, and Germany. Still, there's always the potential for gas to spike, and pending fuel economy regulations are looming. That could lead AMG to add electrification to its products, Kallenius said, pointing to the electric SLS as a test case. Chevy is also thinking ahead, said Al Oppenheiser, chief engineer of the Camaro. He wouldn't bite when asked about electrification for the Camaro (he did say "never say never"), but admitted in 2025 "it's going to be pretty tough to sell V8s." For now, things are rosy for muscle cars, and Chevy confidently showcased the 640-hp Camaro ZL1 in coupe and convertible form in New York. "I think that this is truly the golden age of performance," Oppenheiser said. It's hard to disagree. News & Analysis News: The 2017 Mazda MX-5 Miata RF was a show-stopper in New York. Analysis: There was a palpable energy when this RF — for Retractable Fastback — was revealed the night before the show at a trendy off-site venue near the Hudson River. Even as a parade of SUVs and flashy luxury cars rolled out the rest of the week, the Miata remained a hot topic. The Retractable Fastback is really a clever targa top, with part of the roof stowing behind the seats, adding about 100 pounds compared to the standard convertible. It makes the car more practical and arguably more attractive. The RF continues Mazda's tradition of selling the Miata with a hardtop variant. The first and second generations offered a detachable one, and a power retractable hardtop (a $1,700 option) was available on third-gen models. Judging by its reception in New York, the RF could prove to be even more popular than its predecessors.
