Hi, up for grabs is probably one of the nicest trucks your going to come across in your searches....trust me I've
looked. Everything is done and done right. This truck was just completed and underwent a 2 year restoration and
believe me there's no disappointments. Theres only 1,600 miles put on the truck. If your in the market for a GMC
big window step side look no further. Truck is damn near show quality. Below I'm going to try and describe exactly
what I see and know about this truck.
Starting With The Outside: Laser straight and rust free body. Shaved rain roof rails and all emblems. Painted a
satin black with just enough clear to make it pop. There's all new chrome including front bumper, headlight bezels,
parking lamp lenses, outer door handles, mirrors, tailgate chains, wiper cowl and bullet wiper covers(wipers work
and will be included). All glass, frames, rubbers are brand new. I had the glass smoke tinted front to back and
looks great. Bed is many tubbed and has a nice wood kit installed. It shows signs of use because it's used and not
covered up. I replaced the GMC grill for the better looking Chevrolet. All headlights, taillights, and turn signals
work as they should.
Inside: All brand new top to bottom. Whole inside of cab was painted a gloss red and is show quality. Dash was
pulled and painted and an all new wiring harness installed so all electrical is in proper working order. New seat
foam and 2 tone red and black cover. There's new carpet, floor mats, window cranks, inner door handles, inner
rearview mirror, new aftermarket stock looking radio (amp and small sub combo behind seat..needs install) , all new
dash chrome knobs replaced, Ididit chrome tilt steering column and billet steering wheel, billet dash with chrome
face guages (everything works), red headliner and inner glove box. There's a badass Kilduf quick shift floor
shifter installed that works great. Red top Optima Battery and billet battery cover are brand new and are located
behind front seat for easy accessibility. Inside is perfect as you see.
Motor: everything done ! Here we go..... Professionally built 355 small block, Scat crank, Eagle Rods, Speed Pro
pop up Pistons, bored 30 over balanced, true double rolling timing chain, Chromally hardened push rods,...1.5
aluminum roller rockers, Lunati camshaft 525-548 lift cam, World SR. Heads, 202.160 exhaust stainless Manlet
valves, high rise single intake, 750 Cup Race Demon carburetor, polished long tube headers, Spectre chrome
aircleaner & breather, chrome alternator & brackets, belt system, upgraded chrome power steering and pump, MSD
ignition & HEI distributor, frame mounted master cylinder, oversize 4 core radiator with polished overflow, Erson
valve covers, etc, etc.....you get the idea. Price this motor out and you'll know what your getting. A ton of
horsepower. I'd put this truck up to anything street or track.....badass ! Yes runs on pump gas.
Transmission is a built 350 with 3000 stall that shifts with no hesitation.
Exhaust is a custom Duvall setup with race bullets 3inch pipe....you will love the sound..its a beast !
Frontend, Suspension and Undercarriage: Frontend has a Mustang 2 front clip with disc brakes, full front and rear
coil over adjustable suspension with 4 link in the rear, Ford 9inch reared with disc brakes, Possi rearend with 350
gears, gas tank has been relocated underneath the rear of the bed with top mounted gas filler.
Truck is currently rolling on a new staggered set of chrome 20inch B/G wheels with big tires. If you prefer more of
a old school street rod look I have a very clean set of staggered 17inch Torque Thrusts with very good tires for a
reduced price. Lug pattern is Chevy 5x4 3/4 front & back.

Next-gen Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra may use carbon fiber
Thu, Dec 7 2017It's been generally accepted that the next generation of full-size GM trucks will use some sort of strong, lightweight material for the beds while retaining steel for the cab. While aluminum seems like the most obvious choice, according to Automotive News, the Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra will incorporate both aluminum and carbon fiber in their beds. The publication cites sources from within GM, though it seems the introduction of this comparatively exotic material mix is still a few years off. While carbon fiber is both stronger and lighter than steel and aluminum, it takes significantly more time and money to produce, essentially relegating the material to small-volume cars. The main benefit for trucks is the resulting reduction in weight to improve fuel economy without sacrificing the tough, rugged capabilities truck buyers expect. The Ford F-150 made the switch to aluminum for the 2015 model year and it's proved highly successful. It seemed like it was only a matter of time before the competition followed suit. Automotive News says that the next-gen trucks will launch with aluminum beds and that it will take a couple of years before we'll see any carbon fiber incorporated into the design. Even then, only look for the composite material on higher-trim models, with a trickle down to lower-spec trucks possible further in the future. In 2011, GM announced it was working with Japan-based Teijin Limited on a carbon fiber reinforced thermoplastic. There's a good chance that material's introduction will be on trucks. Would you pay $17 a month to give your older Ford connectivity?
Fri, Mar 30 2018When it was first introduced in 2007, there was nothing like the original Ford Sync system, since it allowed car owners to connect and use a portable device better than anything that came before it. And because it was a brought-in/tethered and software-based system, Sync leveraged a device's connectivity and was easily updated. It took competitors awhile to catch up: Toyota Entune wasn't available until 2011, and Chevy MyLink didn't roll out until 2012. But now Ford is the one playing catchup since it stuck with the brought-in strategy while most other automakers were quicker to add connectivity via an embedded cellular modem. Ford initially installed 2G/3G modems in its small fleet of electric and plug-in electric vehicles starting in 2012 so that owners could keep tabs on charging. Embedded connectivity came to Lincoln in 2014, and Ford began adding onboard 4G LTE via Sync Connect to select cars starting with the Escape in 2015. To get more cars connected more quickly, last week the automaker rolled out its FordPass SmartLink solution that plugs into the OBD port of 2010 to 2017 model year vehicles. This lets owners retroactively get onboard Wi-Fi, set up a "geo-fence" to keep tabs on a car's location, receive vehicle health reports and allows remote engine starting and door locking/unlocking using a smartphone app, among other features. But to connect older Ford vehicles will cost owners $16.99 a month for two years, not including installation. Ford throws in 1 GB of data or a 30-day trial, whichever comes first, after which owners have to add the vehicle to their Verizon shared data plan, which supplies connectivity for SmartLink, or establish a new account. (Disclosure: Autoblog is owned by Verizon.) By comparison, GM's 4G LTE data plans start at $10 a month for 200 MB and goes up to $30 for 3 GB, and owners can also add a car to an AT&T shared-data plan. But OnStar doesn't have a separate monthly subscription for the embedded modem or an installation charge, and standard features via the RemoteLink Mobile App are free for the first five years of ownership. FCA's Uconnect Access service also uses an embedded modem to provide similar telematics features for $20 per month following a free one-year trial, while a la carte in-car Wi-Fi is offered for $10 per day, $20 per week or $35 per month.
Diesel Power finds the ultimate modified oil-burner
Sat, 24 Aug 2013For nine years, Diesel Power magazine has run the Diesel Power Challenge, this year's grindfest being "a week-long torture test that features seven events, nine trucks, 8,000 horsepower, and nearly 15,000 pound-feet of torque." The road to being crowned "the most powerful truck" starts with a dyno run, and then continues through the completion of a CDL-style obstacle course, an eighth-of-a-mile drag race while towing a 10,000-pound trailer, a quarter-mile drag race without a trailer, a fuel economy test in the mountains and finally a sled-pulling test through a 300-foot-long packed-mud pit.
What kind of trucks get into such a fight? Last year's winner, for instance - who upgraded his truck this year to prove he didn't "luck into the win" - drives a 2008 Ford F-250 Super Duty with a 6.4-liter Power Stroke V8 upgraded with a custom intake, Elite Diesel triple turbos and a two-stage nitrous system. Another competitor has a 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 powered by a 5.9-liter Cummins inline-six, upgraded with Garrett turbos, dual-stage nitrous, a seven-inch exhaust stack and twin fans built into the bed to cool the Sun Coast Omega transmission. The numbers on that truck: 1,255 horsepower, and 2,063 pound-feet of torque at the wheels. Naturally, as the image above might suggest, things don't always end well.
You'll find all five videos covering this years challenge below. A scene in the dyno video sums it all up perfectly: a competitor leaves his nitrous on too long and the crew is treated to some ominous poppings, he leans out the window, throws both hands up and shouts, "Amer'ca!"
