York, Pennsylvania, United States
Up for sale I have a Beautiful 1956 Chevrolet Short Bed Pickup Truck that was in process of a complete restoration and only needs a few finishing touches. Powering the truck is a 283sbc with a 4 speed manual and a posi traction 3:42 rear axle. Up front is a completely rebuilt subframe from a 79' Trans Am including power steering and power disc brakes. There has been a ton of NEW parts put on this truck in the last few months including: New Drag Thrust Wheels, New Avenger GT Tires, New Aluminum Radiator, New Painless Wiring Harness(installed just needs hooked up), New Summit 4 Speed Shifter, New Billet Polished Mirrors and Gas Pedal, New Ultra Premium Brakes, New Wheel Cylinders, New Ultra Lite Gauges(fuel, volt, oil, and water temp), and New Summit 600cfm Electric Choke Carb. The paintwork was professionally done using PPG base/clear in a bright "Viper Blue" color and looks absolutely stunning! Engine compartment was detailed in black. This was not a "rust bucket" truck to start, all of the original sheet metal was used in the restoration. There has been over $12,500 invested NOT COUNTING A DIME FOR LABOR! Only needs a few things to be finished( fuel tank, driveshaft, glass, and wiring harness hooked up). I will require $500 Paypal deposit within 24 hours of auction close and the balance to be paid within 7 days of auction close. This is considered a "used" vehicle and there is NO warranty on this truck. Please call Dave with any questions 717-334-0944 Truck is located in Gettysburg, Pa |

These cars are headed to the Great Crusher In The Sky
Fri, 24 Aug 2012It happens every year. We bid adieu to some cars and trucks that will be missed, and say good riddance to others wondering how they stayed around so long. Whether they're being killed off for slow sales or due to a new product coming along to replace them, the list of vehicles being discontinued after 2012 is surprisingly long and diverse.
CNN Money has compiled a list of departing vehicles, to which we've added a few more of our own. In the slow sales column, cars like the Lexus HS 250h, Mercedes-Benz R-Class and the full Maybach lineup appear, while the Ford Escape Hybrid, Mazda CX-7 and Hyundai Veracruz are all having their gaps filled with more modern and more fuel-efficient alternatives. Obvious exceptions to the rule include models that still sell in decent numbers like the Jeep Liberty and the Chrysler Town & Country (which will eventually be replaced by a crossover-like vehicle).
Check out our gallery of discontinued cars above, then scroll down for more information.
The Corvette Museum sinkhole has been filled
Wed, Feb 11 2015After swallowing eight of the most prized pieces of the collection from the National Corvette Museum, the massive sinkhole from a year ago is rapidly becoming nothing but a bad memory. Based on the museum's weekly construction update, you can barely see the remnants of the 25-foot deep hole once in the floor. The Corvette Museum's Skydome was not always going to look like this. The original hope was to keep the sinkhole there as a tourist attraction. That plan eventually fell through, though, and instead it was decided five of the less-damaged Corvettes would remain unrestored. Progress has been moving fast to get the repairs done. Even a month ago, the hole was still very visible, and the construction company used remote-controlled Bobcat loaders to fill it in. Now, the museum has launched a contest to guess how many tons of stone it took to fill in the massive crater. The winner gets a print of the 2009 Corvette ZR1 Blue Devil being lifted out.
