I am selling a 1949 Chevy pickup truck. This vehicle is in great shape, with zero rust and an engine that you have to listen hard to know it is running! I bought this truck with the intention of hot rodding it but it is simply too nice to cut up by me. It is up to the new owner to decide. The previous owner did a ton of restoration to the truck, including a few welded patches (small) and new all steel front fenders which still have the stickers up underneath them! Bed is solid and interior in very nice shape. There is probably some bondo someplace, but I can not find any. Frame is clean as well. Engine runs beautifully and transmission shifts as it should with the "granny gear" that will climb a tree. Wiring was replaced and looks great. All systems operate as they should and truck is certainly road worthy since the previous owner was driving it daily. I would probably still trailer it away though as it is an older vehicle that probably needs to be gone through before taking on a long trip.. Brakes are good with a new master cylinder.

This truck is as solid as you will find and as mentioned runs beautifully. Presently it is in black primer but would be an easy paint job with very little prep work needed. I will answer all questions promptly and if you choose to have a phone conversation shoot me a number and I will call you back. Truck is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction early. Feel free to make reasonable offers but I do not intend to give the truck away and know what it is worth. I have a clear NH title that will go with it. There are a ton of extra parts that you can see in the pictures including another motor that was professionally rebuilt in the lower level, tranny, water pump, fuel pump, gaskets, shop manuals etc., too much to list. Presently all parts are strapped into the bed.

GM recalling 250,000 SUVs over door electronics

After a door-fire investigation that dates back to February, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has officially announced a recall today that affects around 250,000 General Motors SUVs for a faulty driver's door module. The recall applies to the Buick Rainier, Chevrolet Trailblazer, GMC Envoy, Isuzu Ascender and Saab 9-7X from the 2006 and 2007 model years, as well as the 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer EXT and GMC Envoy XL for vehicles sold and/or registered in the Snow Belt.
Road salt use in these midwestern and northern states can lead to corrosion of the driver's door module on these GMT360 and GMT370 vehicles, which allows water to come in contact with the circuit board. If shorted out, the vehicle's power door locks and power windows will not work, and could possibly lead to overheating and, in some circumstances, a fire. No official word on how many total vehicles caught on fire, but back in June, 28 fires had been reported to the government agency. A fix for the problem is still being worked out, but all affected vehicle owners will be notified by GM.

If you plan on using a vehicle's third row a lot, let us at least make the suggestion that a minivan would be a smarter bet than anything you're going to see on this list of best three-row SUVs. Their third rows are bigger, more comfortable and easier to get to. The kids will definitely be happier. Here are our two top choices. OK, now that that's out of the way, we totally get why minivans are totally depressing and that if the kids want to be happier, they can buy their own darn vehicle. You're buying, you're driving, you're being seen in it and you'd rather have a three-row SUV. Fair enough. Luckily, there are more choices than ever and they're really good. The best do a particularly good job of being family friendly without looking like a drab transportation appliance, although really, you can't go wrong with any of the mainstream three-row SUVs. Now, some of the luxury choices are a bit suspect, including those that are otherwise very appealing but have cramped third-row seats (the Genesis GV80 comes to mind). Hillary Clinton takes to campaign trail in a van called Scooby

It still seems way too early to even starting thinking about the 2016 presidential election, but candidates are already throwing their hats in the ring. Among the officially announced hopefuls so far is former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. To kick off her run for office, she recently embarked on a long-distance road trip from her home in New York to the campaign battleground of Iowa. Rather than a limo, she was driven there in a conversion van (pictured above) that Clinton named Scooby after Hanna-Barbera's famous, mystery-solving dog. According to Yahoo Autos, the vehicle itself is a Chevrolet Express that has been customized by the Explorer Van Company, and Time says that it's also armored. Clinton isn't behind the wheel, though. All those years in public office mean that the Secret Service does the driving. Of course, the vehicle in Scooby Doo was named the Mystery Machine, and Scooby was mostly brown, not black. To explain the somewhat odd naming, Clinton traveled around in a brown van during her 2000 Senate campaign in New York, and it earned the nickname Scooby, according to Time. Apparently, the moniker has stuck for her latest ride. If the start of the Clinton campaign seems early, she isn't the first White House hopeful to arrive in Iowa this year. A bunch of possible Republican candidates already met at summits in the state at least twice to gain favor ahead of the caucus there. No word on what they were driving...
