Up for sale here I have a 1949 Chevrolet five window truck with with clear Ks title that matches the body tag. The truck will have good roller tires on it for transport. I'm also including a 50 Chevy cab and front clip for parts to build the 5 window. If you're building a rat rod you may not want the cab and clip and I'll take $500 off if you don't want the parts truck. The 5 window is a good builder but will need some floor, kick panel, cab corner, and some cowl work. They have all been patched in the past and need redone. The front fenders have been welded to the cab and need ground off if unless you're building a rat. That's why I'm including the front clip that is nice shape other than some bent grill bars. The 5 window is missing most of its interior parts but almost all of those parts are on the parts cab other than the radio plate. I have a nice 4 speed floor plate that isn't pictured but is included. I also have the original hood has a bend on the back corner that can be straightened out and a bumper bracket to replace the broken one on the truck. The truck was a 4 speed and I have one from the blue truck I will include if you want it. There is no engine, driveshaft, glass, seat or front bumper and it maybe missing some other small parts. The bed floor is now metal and the rear end has been changed to an open rear with u joints. I don't know what it's out of but the width works well. The rear fenders are solid on the 5 window but have been straightened and had some dents filled in the past. The drivers door stainless is missing but the windshield and passenger side are there and pretty nice. The running boards are rust free but have some slight bends that can be worked out of the edge. There are also some holes drilled through the boards where they had things mounted over the years. The drivers side board has been welded to the rear fender. The rockers are rust free and the doors are usable with just a small amount of rust through on the inside of the passenger door. The front bed panel is dented up as well as the tailgate. The drivers bed rail has a dent on the top. The frame is straight and rust free on the truck. Overall this truck is a good builder or an excellent rat candidate with several coats of patina. If you have any questions email or call me at 785-220-4411. I have more pics if you want me to email you some just let me know what you'd like to see. There is a $500 deposit due within 24 hours of the auctions end and the balance is due within 7 days. Shipping is the buyers responsibility but I'll help in anyway that I can. This is for sale to the United States only so if you live in another country don't bid. Check my other auctions for more trucks like this. Thanks and good luck bidding.
The frame of the parts truck is not included and there is no title for the parts cab as it is missing the body tag.

Rumor: 2016 Chevy Volt gets 53 miles EV range, 40% increase
Mon, Aug 3 2015While we're still waiting for the official word from GM, news is creeping around the Internet that the 2016 Chevy Volt will get a big boost in all-electric range and gas-burning efficiency. According to new rumors out today, the second-gen Volt will be able to go 53 miles on a full charge, have 106 MPGe and be able to get 42 miles per gallon on the official EPA numbers. Compared to the outgoing first-gen Volt (38 miles EV range, 98 MPGe, and 37 mpg) these are all impressive increases. The all-electric range boost of almost 40 percent is the biggest surprise, though. We knew the new Volt would get better numbers than the first-gen model, but when GM debuted the car in Detroit earlier this year, it said it suspected the Volt would get a 50-mile range, 41 mpg and 102 MPGe. We'll be keeping an eye out for official confirmation of all these new numbers. Volt drivers are already making most of their driving miles electric. The number sits at about 80 percent currently, and GM has said it expects this to climb to 90 percent in the new model. GM said in May that the 2016 Volt will start at $33,995, a bit lower than the current Volt's MSRP of $34,170 before any tax breaks. So, for less money you'll be getting much better fuel economy. What's not to like about that? Preorders are already open for interested buyers in some parts of the country. Chevrolet considering midsize crossover to slot between Traverse and Equinox
Mon, Jan 9 2017Crossovers are the new hotness, and automakers are looking to cash in by offering a size and shape for every customer. With Chevrolet's debut of the new 2018 Traverse in Detroit, which grew ever so slightly compared to the first-generation model, there is now a midsize-crossover-sized hole between the three-row Traverse and the compact Equinox. When asked about that obvious space, a Chevrolet spokesperson told us the company is looking into the possibility of expanding its crossover lineup. It should be a relatively simple thing to do, since all it would take is reskinning and rechristening the GMC Acadia with a bow tie, and we all know how much GM loves platform sharing. Although they're now different sizes, the new Acadia and Traverse still use the same platform; the Acadia is now on a short-wheelbase version of the C1XX while the Traverse uses long-wheelbase C1XX parts. A short-wheelbase Chevy built on the C1XX likely would be differentiated visually from both the Acadia and the larger Traverse. It may seem like flooding the lineup with more and more models would cannibalize sales of existing ones, but Chevrolet said it would rather have customers stay within the brand rather than going to another automaker. There have been whispers that some form of the Blazer name (possibly TrailBlazer) may make a return on a midsizer, but if it does don't expect an old-school body-on-frame SUV like the old one. In the end, if Chevy builds it, customers will come. Related Video:
Lutz dishes dirt on GM in latest Autoline Detroit
Mon, 20 Jun 2011Bob Lutz sits down for Autoline Detroit - Click above to watch video after the jump
Autoline Detroit recently played host to Bob Lutz, and, as is always the case, the former General Motors vice chairman dished out some great commentary. Lutz was promoting his new book Car Guys vs. Bean Counters: The Battle for the Soul of American Business, and talk quickly turned to his role as it related to product development and high-level decision making at GM. While on the topic of brand management, Lutz revealed a few rather interesting tidbits about his former employer:
All Chevrolet vehicles were required to have five-spoke aluminum wheels and a chrome band up front, as part of the Bowtie brand's overall image.
