1976 Chevy Nova Rally Ss 4 Speed on 2040-cars
Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania, United States
Engine:305 c.i.
Drive Type: Manual
Model: Nova
Mileage: 33,800
Trim: Rally
1976 Nova Rally SS, 305 c.i., 4 barrel Rochester carb, Borg-Warner Super T10 4 speed, 10 bolt 3.73 posi. 33,800 original miles on the body. Engine is out of a 79 Malibu. It has been freshened up with a new valve job and hardened valve seals, bottom end of motor was checked and needed nothing! Runs perfect, shifts great. Body is very solid with original floors, trunk, fenders, quarter panels, rocker panels etc. Car was stripped down to bare metal. There was some minor body work done at the front and back of the rear wheel wells because of some rust starting but it was nothing major. Rust was cut out and small patches welded in and all metal body filler was used. There are 2 small spots on the passenger door that will some attention as this was restored about 8 years ago. Paint job is not the greatest, base coat clear but showing some signs of age. Still the car is a good 10 footer but the new owner would probably want to repaint it at some point. Black stripes are decals. Drives great, no shakes or rattles, just like a car with this low mileage should. I bought it when it had only 28,000 miles on it and went over the whole car. Garage kept. When I had the car on Ebay a few months ago, i had a radical 400 small block in it, but that engine ended up having some issues so it was pulled. The new parts I put on it are brakes, radiator, waterpump, shocks, Dynomax headers, clutch setup, transmission rebuilt, hurst shifter, the 3.73 posi was built new by a professional drivetrain shop, custom bent 2 1/2" stainless exhaust with Dynomax Super Turbo mufflers. The interior is all original except the front seats. They are out of a Camaro and I recovered them. Door panels, trim, dash, headliner, kick panels, console, etc are all in great shape. The original carpet is starting to show its age in a few spots but still looks good. Heater, defrost, blower all work great. All dash lights work, along with the horn, wipers, dome light, even that damn key buzzer!! Only the backup lights don't work because I never put a switch on the tranny. Glass is good, doors open and close like they are new. All new weatherstripping. 8" ralley wheels with 215 70 15 tires with lots of tread yet. Chrome around windows are in ok shape for aluminum, some scratches but you know how that gets over the years. Bumpers are nice for the most part with only a ding here and there but still shine very good. Rear tail lights are in great shape inside and out. I'm sure i'm missing some thing but I hope I described this car enough to make the new owner comfortable with what they are getting. I would not hesitate to drive it anywhere. I just have one too many toys right now, so i'm selling this one. If you like this generation Nova, I think you will love this one. Email any questions, just don't ask what the reserve price is please! Thanks for looking.

Regular-cab, short-bed Chevy Silverado Trail Boss pickup looks great
Fri, Jul 30 2021For all the wild popularity of full-size pickups, there's one configuration that U.S. buyers are no longer offered: the regular-cab, short-bed truck. Interestingly, however, GM still does make this configuration, and both the Chevrolet Silverado and the GMC Sierra are offered with it — in the Mexican market. That body style, however, is available solely in ultra-basic work-truck form. But a custom wheel shop, JC Wheels in the Mexican city of Culiacan, has converted one of these Silverados to Trail Boss trim, and we're digging the result. The sporty shorty Silverado Trail Boss comes to our attention via GM Authority, after the shop posted it on their Instagram feed. The shop added a 3-inch lift, assist steps, Chevy alloy wheels, a Trail Boss front fascia including red tow hooks, and Trail Boss badging. They also added dark window tint, which seems like a good idea in sunny Mexico. In the U.S., the Silverado Trail Boss isn't offered at all in regular-cab form; it only can be had as a double cab or a crew cab, the latter with a choice of a short bed or standard bed. But size is often a hindrance for trucks that actually get driven on trails, where this regular-cab, short-bed variant's smaller wheelbase would be an advantage. Beyond that, the Trail Boss upgrades keep this configuration from looking like a basic-spec machine. That's even more true of the same outfit's previous efforts: the conversion of the GMC Sierra regular-cab, short-bed pickup into a Denali. With so many buyers choosing pickups as personal-use vehicles, it's not hard to think that this configuration could find an audience here. But the key would be to do as this Mexican firm has done and offer it in the desirable off-road and luxury trims, rather than as a basic work truck. Would you buy one? Sound off in the comments below. The next step would be to use this configuration as the basis of a full-size, two-door SUV, in the mold of the classic Chevy K5 Blazer and GMC Jimmy.
GM to add 1,200 workers at 2 Michigan factories
Sat, Feb 29 2020DETROIT — General Motors is adding 1,200 jobs at two Michigan factories to build midsize SUVs and two new luxury sedans. GM said Friday that its Lansing Delta Township plant will get a third shift and 800 more workers to build the Chevrolet Traverse and Buick Enclave SUVs, which have three rows of seats. The Lansing Grand River plant will get a second shift and 400 more workers to build two new Cadillac sedans, the CT4 and CT5. Employees laid off at other GM factories will fill the new jobs first, then workers will be added, GM spokesman Dan Flores said. The company has not determined yet how many new people will be needed, he said. Both additional shifts will start working sometime between April and June, the company said. Lansing Delta Township now employs about 2,500 salaried and blue-collar workers, while the Grand River plant has 1,400. GM sold more than 147,000 Traverse SUVs in the U.S. last year, a 0.4% increase from 2018. Enclave sales were up 3% to just over 51,000, according to Autodata Corp. Related Video:
Take a close look at the guts of the Chevy Volt battery, powertrain
Sat, Aug 9 2014Just how intimate would you like to get with the powertrain in a Chevy Volt? If you're anything like YouTube user d55guy, then spending a half hour filming yourself taking apart the battery pack, motor, inverter and more for a look inside sounds like your idea of fun. After all, this way you get to see the cooling system, the heavy safety kill switch and count up the individual cells in the battery modules. Fun! Turns out, we also enjoy languidly paced Volt dissection video goodness, and we think you might want to see it as well. So, we've embedded two videos below and if you don't have a better understanding of how the Volt is put together after watching them, well, at least you can't say we never tried to show you anything. Given that what's really happening here is the organized 'destruction' of an expensive and potentially dangerous object, let's talk safety. There's a serious disclaimer at the beginning of the videos and on the YouTube description page, but we feel the need to repeat the gist of it here: do not try this at home. The creator of the video says he is a trained engineer and has been doing things like this "for the better part of a decade," so he apparently knows what he's doing. With that in mind, watch it all below. When you're done seeing the insides of a Volt powertrain up close, if you need more filmed EV dissection/destruction, check out this video designed for first responders approaching a damaged Tesla Model S.
