UP FOR SALE IS THIS 1972 NOVA YENCO TRIBUTE. THIS NOVA RUNS AND DRIVES PRETTY GOOD. ENGINE SOUNDS LOUD AND STRONG AND TRANSMISSION SHIFTS ON TIME. IT'S NOT A RESTORED CAR OR CAR SHOW QUALITY. THIS CAR IS A NICE EXAMPLE OF A CLEAN DAILY DRIVER, BUT IT IS STILL CONSIDERED A PROJECT BECAUSE IT NEEDS A FEW THINGS AND HAS A FEW FLAWS... I PUT NEW BRAKES ALL AROUND AND A NEW WHEEL CYLINDER THAT WAS LEAKING. AFTER DOING THE BRAKES AND THE WHEEL CYLINDER IT STARTED TO FEEL SPONGY, I HAVE BEEN TOLD IT NEEDS BLEEDING. ALSO, NEEDS DOORS AND TRUNK WEATHER STRIPPING, AND GAS GAUGE DOES NOT WORK. WINDSHIELD HAS A CRACK AND PAINT HAS A FEW DINGS AND SCRATCHES HERE AND THERE BUT LIKE I SAID IT'S A NICE DAILY DRIVER. THE SEATS LOOK LIKE NEW, CARPET IS GOOD BUT NOT ORIGINAL LOOP CARPET, DOOR PANELS ARE NEW AND IT NEEDS A HEAD LINER. TIRES WILL NEED REPLACING IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO DRIVE LONG DISTANCE (TO BE SAFE). THEY LOOK GOOD BUT I DON'T KNOW HOW OLD THEY ARE, FRONT TIRES ARE A LITTLE TOO BIG AND RUB A LITTLE WHEN YOU TURN ALL THE WAY. ALL LIGHTS WORK INSIDE AND OUT. IT HAS AN AFTERMARKET DISTRIBUTOR, ORIGINAL MANIFOLDS, ALUMINUM INTAKE AND 4 BARREL CARBURETOR. WHEN I BOUGHT THIS CAR A FEW YEARS AGO OWNER TOLD ME ENGINE HAD BEEN REBUILT AND HAD VERY LOW MILES, SINCE I HAD IT I PROBABLY PUT 15 MILES, IT'S BEEN SITTING AND IT NEEDS DRIVING. IT HAS A FLOW-MASTER TRUE DUAL EXHAUST, THIS NOVA HAS ALL 4 ORIGINAL GM CORVETTE RIMS AND CAPS. I'M JUST TRYING TO DESCRIBE THE CAR TO THE BEST OF MY KNOWLEDGE SINCE YOU ARE NOT PRESENT. Question of the Day: Worst year of the Malaise Era?

The Malaise Era for cars in the United States spanned the 1973 through 1983 model years, and featured such abominations as a Corvette with just 205 horsepower (from the optional engine!) and MGBs with suspensions jacked way up to meet new headlight-height requirements. There were many low points throughout this gloomy period, of course. The horrifyingly low power and fuel-economy numbers for big V8s during the middle years of the Malaise Era make a strong case for 1974 or 1975— the years of Nixon's resignation and the Fall of Saigon, respectivelyÂ— as the most Malaisey years. But then the GM-pummeling debacles of the Chevy Citation and Cadillac Cimarron could make an early-1980s year the low point. 1979, the year of the ignominious Chrysler bailout? You choose! 2014 Chevrolet SS makes its live debut

Chevrolet showed off the new 2014 SS in an airport hangar last night, its first rear-wheel-drive performance sedan in the US since the Impala SS from 1997. We'll have more to say about the SS later today, but this is the sedan that Chevrolet sees as the final piece in restoring its performance credentials. For those of you looking for a manual transmission, however, that wish will go unfulfilled - at least for now: the only two options buyers will have are the color and whether or not they want a sunroof.
We'll work on getting some more angles (in better light) today at Daytona International Speedway, but with fans seeing the car for the first time, we don't hold out much luck of getting a clear shot. So for now, enjoy the high-res gallery above.

Minor updates coming to 2017 Chevy Volt

The 2016 Chevrolet Volt has just appeared at dealerships, but already the talk has turned to the mildly updated 2017 model going on sale in a few months. The new Volt has already won the 2016 Green Car of the Year award and is sparking a noticeable uptick in sales over the outgoing model. Chevy is now planning to keep interest in the second-generation Volt strong with some tweaks and increased availability. The main equipment change to the 2017 Volt will be the option of adaptive cruise control on both the base LT and uplevel Premier, according to CarsDirect. While the Volt already offers safety technology such as blind-spot monitoring and forward collision warning, adaptive cruise has been conspicuously absent. But the largest change will be that the 2017 Volt gets nationwide availability. GM decided to focus on strong markets for the original Volt when it chose where to introduce the new model. Buyers interested in the second-generation model have until now been limited to making purchases in states such as California, Maryland and the Northeast. This will all change soon. Conversely, you can have a 2016 Nissan Leaf now in all 50 states, or a 2016 Toyota Prius very shortly. But in our first drive of the Volt, we found it to be, "an efficient, no-compromise EV" and worth the wait for those who don't live in the states with the strictest emissions laws. Perhaps the reason the 2016 Volt is already being given an injection of dealer incentives is because of its relatively short lifespan. The 2017 Chevy Volt should arrive on dealer lots by spring 2016.
