NO RESERVE!!! RELISTED Again!!! 1st time Nova was sold but due to extenuating circumstances the deal did not go through. I decided to keep it. Next time buyer checked on shipping and decided it was too expensive. Unfortunately I really do not have room for it. Hate to sell as it is a blast to drive and everyone loves the car. Wheels in pictures do NOT come with the SALE. Nova is being Sold with a set of basic steel wheels and used tires. This will allow you to put on the wheels you want. (I do have a set of ORIGINGINAL 14 x 7 Rally Wheels and Tires on another auction. If you win the car and the wheels I will put them on the car for transit to you) 1966 Chevy Nova Convertible. As most of you know The Nova was NOT available in a Convertible in 1966. This car started life as a base model 4 door sedan with a 6 cylinder and a 3 on the tree manual trans. That is it. It was made into a convertible and the rear doors were welded in. I have owned many muscle cars over the years but this car gets the looks. My kids still love it and do not want to see it go. I just have too much going on. It is mostly original paint and interior. The quarters are resprayed as the doors were welded in. It is a real cool car to cruise around in. It has so much potential to be whatever you want it to be. This body looks great as a convertible. GREAT GAS MILIAGE!!! NO Rally Wheels go with car. (Was receiving a lot of interest last time in selling the car without the Rally's so buyer could put on there own wheels). The car runs and drives great. Everything works except the horn (Works just not hooked up at the wheel), the speedometer needle seems to have fallen off but the odometer works, and the indicators work but the cancelation cam needs to be replaced as you have to manually cancel. There is an antenna but no stereo. It has guages in place of the stereo (Temp, Oil Pressure and Volts). The Nova runs cool and oil pressure is strong. Always starts right up. Has a new battery and voltage regulator. Trans is strong and the clutch is great. Has newer brakes. Carb was rebuilt. Body: The body is in good overall condition. It is solid in the back and trunk. There is some rust appearing on the lower rear of the front fenders. The floor is a little spotty in places with some sheetmetal pieces covering a few holes. The nice thing is no hacking has been done to the floor at all. It has a very solid engine compartment all the way back to the cown. The inside where the front door hinges are is showing some rust. On the top below the windshield on the passanger side is showing some rust. Not around the window frame though. The body is not saging but I was going to go all the way and support it for durability. The person who made the car welded a frame conector on the drivers side. I was going to get a weld in pair of frame connectors and add a rear sway bar. This would cost a total of $200.00. The frame connectors are less than $100.00. The other side does not have one. The doors are solid with surface rust at the bottom. I have an extra set of front doors that are complete with windows and are rust free for the winning bidder to have 1st right to purchase at $100.00 for the pair. The hood and trunk are in rust free condition. The rear quarter emblems are no included (See pictures). The front LH fender could use a little work. I have an extra original that goes with the car. The front of the LH door has a little damage to the sheetmetal only. The grille is nice and the trim is in good overall shape. Bumpers have nice chrome with a few dings and 1 dent in rear LH side of Bumper. I have done some research and some people add the tops from a earlier Nova convertible with the windshield header. I was going to lower the front windshield and make it a roadster/speedster style Nova. Interior: The interior is mostly original. The dash is solid with no rust at all. Under the dash is solid as well. It has its original front and rear seat. The carpet has been replaced and seats recovered at some point. It has seat belts for 2 people in front. (Rear Seat Belts in pictures have been removed) Someone added a bar across the back of the rear seat. It is like an amusement park ride bar. Kids have a ball with it. The heater is not hooked up. I would assume it needs a core and that is why it was bypassed. The lights all work. Turn signals work, They do not cancel though. That is a manual process. The wiper switch operators the wipers but there are no arms or blades. There is no door glass or window cranks in the doors or rear quarter sections. As you can see in the pictures there is a strip covering where the windows would go on the front doors. They can be added. I have the fronts in the extra doors but nothing for the rears. I had not plans of putting glass in it. Too cool the way it is. The steering wheel on the Nova has been changed out to a custom aftermarket one. Trunk: The trunk is in excellent condition with no rust at all. There is no spare tire or jack assembly. Underside: The subframe, front inner fenders, rear wheel wells and trunk area are solid with no rust at all. As well as the subframe rails. Engine: Runs strong with no noises. Has a Flowmaster mufler so it sounds pretty cool. These 194 6's have a lot of torque. The heater is bypassed Trans: Shifts great and the cluch is solid. I was going to get a hump and add a floor shifter to it. Top: Well, There isn't one. The well area has a simulated boot on the back. It would cost a lot of money and time to get to this point with one of these cars when you can drive this one the way it is or fix it up the way you want and drive it at the same time. These are not inexpensive cars any more to acquire. Watch My listings as there will be 73-74 Chevy Truck Parts and more 70-71 Cuda Parts coming soon. I am more than happy to answer any questions so please ask any questions before bidding. Also ask to bid if you have less than 10 positive feedbacks. Been burned too many times in the past. I will cancel bids with less than 10 positive feedbacks if you do not ask before bidding! Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. There are many transport companies out there. I have found that Uship is a great way to find a shipper too. $500 deposit via Paypal is due within 3 days of end of the auction. Remainder due within 7 days via Cash in person, Wire, Cashiers Check or Money Order. |

What if the mid-engine Corvette is really a Cadillac?
Tue, Jun 28 2016Call me crazy, but I'm not convinced the mid-engine Corvette is the next Corvette. The rumor is strong, yes. And, contrary to some of the comments on our site, Car and Driver - leader of the mid-engine Corvette speculation brigade - has a pretty good record predicting future models. But it's another comment that got me thinking: or maybe it's a Cadillac. There is clearly something mid-engine going on at GM, and I think it makes sense for the car to be a Cadillac. First off, check out how sweet the 2002 Cadillac Cien concept car still looks in the photo above. Second, there are too many holes in the mid-engine Corvette theory. There are too many holes in the mid-engine Corvette theory. The C7 is relatively young in Corvette years, starting production almost three years ago as a 2014 model. Showing a 2019 model at the 2018 North American International Auto Show would kill sales of a strong-selling car before its time. Not to mention it would only mean a short run for the Grand Sport, which was the best-selling version of the previous generation. More stuff doesn't add up. Mid-engine cars are, in general, more expensive. Moving the Vette upmarket leaves a void that the Camaro does not fill. There's not much overlap between Camaro and Corvette customers. Corvette owners are older and enjoy features like a big trunk that holds golf clubs. Mid-engine means less trunk space and alienating a happy, loyal buyer. Also, more than 60 years of history. The Corvette is an icon along the likes of the Porsche 911 and Ford Mustang. I'm not sure the car-buying public wants a Corvette that abandons all previous conventions. And big changes bring uncertainty - I don't think GM would make such a risky bet. Chevrolet could build a mid-engine ZR1, you might say, and keep the other Corvettes front-engine. Yes they could, and it would cost a ton of money. And they still need to fund development of that front-engine car. I highly doubt the corporate accountants would go for that. But a Cadillac? Totally. Cadillac is in the middle of a brand repositioning. GM is throwing money at this effort. A mid-engine halo car is the just the splash the brand needs to shake off the ghosts of Fleetwoods past. And it's already in Cadillac President Johan De Nysschen's playbook. He was in charge of Audi's North America arm when the R8 came out. A Caddy sports car priced above $100,000 isn't that unreasonable when you can already price a CTS-V in that range.
2014 Chevrolet Corvette C7 Convertible offers a few more views before reveal
Mon, 04 Mar 2013Over the weekend, Chevrolet released its first images of the new 2014 Corvette Stingray Convertible. Now, ahead of the droptop's official introduction tomorrow at the Geneva Motor Show, the automaker has given us a few more shots of the softop C7 showing off the car's rump albeit from a high, strategically positioned angle.
From this angle, it's hard to get a sense for how long and flat the decklid really is, but we can easily see that, like the rest of the C7's design, the new convertible's decklid and tonneau cover are far more detailed than the current car. We also get a better look at the rear haunches sans brake vents, which have apparently been moved to underneath the car in order to accommodate the top's hard cover.
As for the overall styling of the C7 convertible, with the top erected, we get some idea of what a coupe design (as opposed to the Stingray's fastback shape) would look like on this car. The C5 Corvette most recently had a coupe model that did away with the large glass hatchback, and we recently reported on a low-cost "coupe" model potentially being added to the C7's repertoire.
Weekly Recap: Electric Rapide concept showcases Aston's future
Sat, Oct 24 2015Aston Martin showed off an all-electric Rapide S prototype this week and announced an agreement with investment firm ChinaEquity to explore development of a production version of the sports sedan. The car could arrive in about two years if the project advances, and it would be built in Gaydon, England. The concept car, called the "RapidE" was developed with Williams Advanced Engineering. The electric Rapide is meant to highlight British innovation, and it was revealed during a state visit by Chinese president Xi Jinping to the United Kingdom. Spec were not available for the concept on display. "The car we showed in London is a fully running concept but not yet defining [of] our choice of battery, motor, inverter, etc," spokesman Simon Sproule said. "Now that we have a clearer path for producing the car, we will be defining all the parameters." Aston Martin has been vocal about its electric ambitions this year, and Sproule told us at the New York Auto Show that an all-electric Rapide could cost $200,000 to $250,000 or more. "It's a study, but we're serious about it," he said. Some reports have indicated the electric Rapide could pack as much as 1,000 horsepower. Aston considers electric technology the strongest play for modernizing its powertrains and meeting emissions standards around the world. Hybrids and all-electric models can offer high outputs and strong torque delivery, which is in keeping with the Aston's image as a sportscar maker. Company brass prefer this option over dropping down to four-cylinder engines. And yes, V8s and V12s remain part of the plan. The electric push is part of Aston's future strategy to remake its lineup, which includes refreshing its sportscars, building a production version of the electric all-wheel-drive DBX concept shown at the Geneva Motor Show, and adding a four-door Lagonda. OTHER NEWS & NOTES Domino's serves up purpose-built delivery car Domino's revealed a purpose-built pizza delivery car based on the Chevy Spark. It's called the DXP, for Delivery Expert, and it can handle up to 80 pizzas. The pies stay warm thanks to an oven located behind the driver's seat, and the DXP is sauced up with a puddle-lighting feature that projects the Domino's logo outside of the car. Power comes from the Spark's stock 1.2-liter four-cylinder engine rated at 84 hp that gets up to 39 mpg on the highway. Chevy dealers will be trained to service the DXP.
