Hello all, this is my 1966 Chevrolet Nova 400 or/and Chevy II. This is an original 283 V8, two speed powerglide car. The VIN indicates: 1: GM, 16: V8 Chevy II Nova, 69: 4 door 6 Passenger, 6: 1966, W: Willow Run,

MI.  Pretty rare for a 4 door.  Although now it now has a 280hp 330 Ft. Lb. 305 in it with a "K" case TH350 3 speed trans, Lokar shifter and 8.2 10 bolt. PLEASE: Serious BIDS only.  Call Jeff with any questions or

before bidding so we can talk business, 951-764-5573. The engine is worth $5000 alone.  This is a drivers car; something you can drive everyday, not worry about door dings, scratches and such.  If I were to keep this

car, which is possible, I'd suicide the rear doors, lower it, put bigger wheels and tires on it, TCI front clip, etc.  This is very fun car to drive, it even gets 18-22 MPG when you're not on it: thanks for looking.

As for the engine, we picked a Performer Edelbrock cam and intake combination. Part numbers: 2102 cam and lifter, and 2104 intake. We chose some flat top pistons with 10.2:1 compression. I spent about 12-14 hrs

on the heads, bowl blending and getting them to look like CNC machined heads. These heads have 1.86 intake and 1.5 exhaust valves and fabricated valve covers. Felpro gaskets, king bearings, stock crank and pink

rods. An aluminum radiator, spal electric fan and a Flex-a-Lite 17,000 GVCW trans cooler keep this thing cool. There is a 600cfm Holley vacuum secondary carb on top with an Innovate wideband for ease of tuning. I would recommend a wideband air fuel meter to anyone tuning or driving a carbureted vehicle. It tells

you any air fuel mixture and when it is OFF, which seems to happen often if you don't drive your car often. A Mallory Unilite Distributor with Accel plug wires and Splitfire plugs.  A Jacobs performance coil sparks all

that fuel coming from that Holley 600 CFM carb. Expelling through a custom 2.5" Flowmaster exhaust, 40 series 2 chamber design for optimum "noise disturbance"!  It's loud ;)

Brand new gas tank and sender, rebuilt 10 bolt rear end with new carrier bearings, axle bearings, pinion bearings, 3.08 gears. All new single master cylinder, drum brakes and lines, rebuilt steering components with

bushings and caps, rear sump pan, power steering linkage but no ram or box, stock suspension but will need new bushings. Custom Flowmaster exhaust, coated ram horn manifolds, 2 chamber Flowmasters so it's

loud and obnoxious. New 1330 u-joints so they are bigger and stronger than the 1310 stuff. Rebuilt TH350 with 2-3 stage shift kit; will chirp tires on the fwy!!!! Not very safe if you'd ask some, but fun!!!!

There is so much to list about this car, I could tell you about every inch but it's late, don't feel like typing anymore. So just call me, text me, email me, Skype, whatever. Jeff, 951-764-5573. It will chirp the tires from

second to third; ON THE FWY!!!! Fun, Fun, Fun. Most body work has been done with it being painted in a flat black primer; needs minor work near the gas cap area and will need to be taken down again if you

wait too long. Clear title and current Tags!!!!

This is a rust free California car and fast. I definitely would not sell this car unless my situation called for it, so my 66 has to go. Unfortunately my son and I picked a car that is very light and it was too fast for my

teenaged son to drive; responsibly. It was totally his fault too. At 14 he can build some serious engines, or he got lucky for his first time. We built a 305 that dyno'd at 215hp and 255ft lbs. at the rear wheels!!!! With a

30% drivetrain loss that is 280hp and 330 ft. lbs. at the crank ;) There is no way I'm gonna let my teenaged son drive this car. I remember my first car and no way, he'll kill himself. That being said, this is a very fun

car to drive as an adult. It blows the one tire off in 1st gear, then gets the car sideways on the shifts and pulls hard to redline. I have not had a chance to take it to the drag strip though, my guess is 13's, 12's with good

traction. Current Tags!!!!

AMC Trans Am Javelin SST, an ultra-rare underdog, is up for auction

Sat, Sep 9 2023

Among the rarest of the American muscle cars that went racing in the early Seventies — cars including the Camaro Z/28 and the Boss 302 Mustang — the 1970 AMC Trans Am Javelin SST may be the most hard to find, and among the most valuable. Only 100 units of this unique Javelin were produced, and one of them is up for auction at the Mecum event in Dallas on September 20. The Trans Am Javelin was fashioned in a patriotic livery of tricolor paint — red, white and blue — and arrived after the American Motors Corporation had decided in 1968 to compete in the Trans Am racing series against Ford and General Motors. The company's chief driver, Mark Donohue, would dominate the 1971 season, taking seven wins in his Javelin AMX and that yearÂ’s SCCA Trans-Am Championship. AMC took the trophy with 82 points, well ahead of Ford's 61, Chevrolet's 17 and Pontiac's paltry 7. The example listed for auction came equipped with a 390-cubic-inch V-8 engine with 325 horsepower at 5,000 rpm and 420 pound-feet of torque, power steering and brakes, dual exhaust, BorgWarner four-speed manual transmission and Hurst competition shifter. Its “ram induction system” sealed a chamber around the air filter so that cool air from the functional hood scoop would be funneled into the intake. This JavÂ’s factory price was $3,995 — a mere $32,000 or so in today's money, though it was expensive by the standards of the time. The 100 Trans Ams were among 19,714 Javelin units built in 1970, so they started out rare, and today the surviving examples are highly collectible, if and when they come up for sale. No bid estimate is available yet. Related Video: Motorsports Chevrolet Ford Pontiac Auctions Automotive History Racing Vehicles Classics

Chevy's low-cost pedestrian avoidance to debut on 2016 Malibu

Tue, Jul 28 2015

The mainstreaming of safety technologies that began on luxury vehicles will get a big boost from General Motors later this year. The General says it plans to offer 22 driver assistance systems across its product portfolio of 2016 models, starting with the redesigned Chevrolet Malibu - the one that we know will keep tabs on teenagers for the benefit of parents. Pedestrian avoidance will be another of its available options. Instead of kitting the sedan out with numerous and expensive radar arrays, the GM system uses the camera mounted next to the rearview mirror that is already used for the lane-keeping function. New software lets it detect pedestrians, and when it detects a potential collision with one, it can alert the driver and brake autonomously if the driver doesn't react. Eventually, engineers want to give it the ability to do the same with cyclists. Because it uses existing hardware updated with new code, GM says the application costs "a few hundred dollars." GM demonstrated the Front Pedestrian Braking preventing a crash with a dummy pedestrian at speeds up to 15 miles per hour. Automotive News reports that it will reduce the severity of impact up to 40 miles per hour, but "may not be of much use in collisions at higher speeds." That feature will also join the options list of the Cadillac CT6. The press release below has more on GM's driver tech soon on the way. Related Video: GM Paving Way to Smarter and Safer Driving at All-New Active Safety Test Area 22 crash-avoidance technologies offered on 2016 Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac models MILFORD, Mich. 2015-07-24 – Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac will offer 22 different active safety technologies across their 2016 model year U.S. lineups, ranging from driver alerts to those that automatically intervene and assist the driver in critical situations. Safety engineers will develop and test these and other safety technologies for products around the world at GM's new, 52-acre Active Safety Test Area at its Milford Proving Ground near Detroit. The $14 million facility officially opened Friday. "Our comprehensive safety strategy of helping customers before, during and after a crash continues," said Jeff Boyer, vice president of GM Global Vehicle Safety.

Old Car or New Car? 1993 Chevy Camaro vs 2015 Honda CR-Z

Wed, Sep 30 2015

My daily life revolves around used cars. As a former fast-talking auto auctioneer, it was once my job to inspect, appraise, and liquidate thousands of cars throughout the United States. Since I put down my microphone and became a full-time car dealer, I have gone from auctioning off 150 vehicles an hour – yes, we really do talk that fast – to buying 150 vehicles every two to three months. I see and bid on everything from $300 Volkswagens that belch more black smoke than a diesel truck rolling coal, to $30,000 DeLoreans that hopefully can go at least 88 miles per hour. The auctions never run out of weirdness when it comes to cars because they sell over 10 million every single year. So with that big number in mind, let me tell you about these two cars that have about as much in common as Mel Gibson and Mel Brooks.Option A: 1993 Chevrolet Camaro Indy 500 Pace Car Edition View 24 Photos This 1993 Chevrolet Camaro Indy Pace Car has all of 4,187 miles on it. Neither of those numbers are a misprint and yes, those are multi-colored stripes on the hood. Every week, I find at least two or three museum pieces that have been stored in the private garage of an auto collector. As you can tell, there are some very broad strokes to the definition and tastes of a collector. It could be a guy who has an extreme case of what I call "Automotive Compulsive Disorder" who chucks 20 or 30 old cars into a field and lets the weather and elements have at them. I once knew a guy, a car dealer at that, who "stored" seven 1990s Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme convertibles in the Georgia sun, and within two years those cars turned into complete junk. The fact that he stored them in an open field he didn't actually own and near a public road didn't help either. A few of the local meth heads and kleptocrats decided to strip-mine his collection, from the radiators to the tops themselves. He had a brief time in prison in between the before and the surprise after and trust me, he looked like he had soiled his britches when he saw what happened to his personally prized Cutlasses. Then you have whoever owned this Camaro. Is it a one-of-a-kind? Nope. Just 1 of 125, and an insignificant number at that (#87). But let's open the door to this Camaro and see what we find. Oof! I don't remember this multi-colored silly string design as a '90s must-have. Wasn't this popular back in the 1980s?
