1966 Chevrolet Chevy Ii Nova Sedan 4-door 3.2l on 2040-cars

1966 Chevy Nova 4 door 3 Speed 194CI straight 6 engine. Will maybe trade for a nice Cadillac SRX or another SUV/Crossover. :D Video of it driving is available upon request. Clear title in Maryland. This is an excellent restoration project as it runs and drives and has basically everything you need to get going. This is not one of those hacked up shells with everything torn out of it and disorganized. You can drive this as a rat rod and do stuff little by little or wait until you're ready to start a full on resto project. Fun and peppy ride for such an old car. The frame, floors and trunk feel solid as it appears that it was undercoated a very long time ago. Otherwise it has rust in the typical places for a car this age: wheel wells, rocker panels, roof edges, rear tail section (not the bumper). Bumpers are solid. Interior: Original everything but rather worn. Left driver door ripped up. Seats are ripped in various areas. Pictures show seats with covers on. Dash is cracked. Original carpet, typical condition for this age. Missing parts: Hood is a fiberglass model with a scoop. Wheels are not original. Column shift was converted to a Hurst floor shifter. Shifts a bit sticky, needs to be adjusted likely. Complete brakes overhaul was completed this year 2013. Windows Roll up & down, doors/trunk/glove box lock, dome light, new wipers, new horn works. Driver door lock bit sticky. Items present but not working: right headlight, radio, heater, windshield washer. Electrical system will need attention eventually. Mystery battery drain. Odometer appears to be stuck. The actual VIN# appears to match the Cowl tag. From what I can personally tell the engine appears to be a replacement. But you should do your own research to determine what all the numbers and codes mean as well. I was not able to confirm the Transmission as I could not get to the numbers to take a picture. But it felt like the numbers were above the filler plug on the transmission which suggests a Muncie 3 speed. This is not absolute, since I could not confirm the numbers. Traded or Sold AS IS. Have declared as much as I know. |

Bob Lutz says Tesla remains 'fringe' brand
Sun, Sep 28 2014We've said it before, we'll said it again: Bob Lutz gives great quotes. From his toilet-themed opinion of global warming to Toyota's deity status, the man knows how to get your attention. His latest? Saying that Tesla Motors is and will remain a fringe brand. Take that, Tesla fanbois. This, of course, is the same fringe company that prompted Lutz and his former colleagues at General Motors to start working on the Chevy Volt around eight years ago. The same fringe company that has easily outsold the similarly priced (but don't call it a competitor) Cadillac ELR with its Model S. Lutz did clarify that the fringe status will only last until Tesla comes out with a mass-market electric vehicle that has a range of 200 to 300 miles. Lutz was on CNBC talking about the TSLA stock's recent performance, and he pointed out that even Tesla CEO Elon Musk says that the California automaker's stock is overvalued these days. Despite its prevalence around these parts, Tesla is not yet a household brand. But the company is working hard to get a cheaper, long-range EV to market in the not-too-distant future, so this fringe thing may not last much longer than that show Fringe did. Corvette Stingray Convertible images mysteriously appear on web, so we add our own
Tue, 22 Jan 2013It was inevitable that we'd see the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray topless at some point, but that didn't make us any less interested when a pair of supposedly leaked official images showed up on theautoinsiderblog.com last week. We posted them on our Facebook page, but held off reporting on them here until we could get a little more information.
Those images, which feature a dark red car on a sterile black studio background, supposedly first appeared on the website of diecast model maker Maisto. A Chevrolet spokesman has been reported saying that they are "not official images released by Chevrolet PR," which isn't a denial they're the real deal, but neither is it a confirmation.
Close examination of the photos suggest they could be official shots of the Corvette Stingray Convertible, and while some have doubted their authenticity due to a lack of vents (which were seen on the C7s that debuted in Detroit last week), it could be that the images are of a base model car without the Z51 package that doesn't require the extra venting and cooling.
GM will make Chevy Volt production announcement tomorrow
Mon, Apr 7 2014Thing are apparently happening to get the next-generation Chevy Volt ready for public consumption. The most obvious proof is in a preview of an announcement (possibly coming tomorrow) that the two main places where General Motors gets the Volt ready -the Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly Plant and the Brownstown Township battery assembly facility - will be getting big money upgrades and lots of new positions. The Hamtramck plant builds the Volt and its fancier cousin, the Cadillac ELR, as well as the global versions of the Volt. The Detroit News reports that GM will add 1,400 jobs and spend roughly $450 million at the two locations in order to build the redesigned Volt. What's less clear is exactly what the updates will bring us. We've heard that the new volt will be a 2016 model and come on a new chassis. Speculation in The Detroit News about tomorrow's announcement runs the gamut from a new compact PHEV with less electric range and a lower price (which makes sense) to an updated Volt with more electric range (heard it before) to a new all-electric vehicle (the moon shot). If there's any hints to be gleaned in the international Volts, there are also reports coming in that the Opel brand will get an all-electric vehicle that is cheaper than the Ampera. Read into that what you will. We pestered GM's Kevin Kelly on the new Volt (again) and he said (again) that he couldn't give out any more detail other than what's been reported. He just told AutoblogGreen that there will be an announcement tomorrow and that it will be about the Hamtramck and Brownstown facilities and involve the Volt. So, stay tuned.
