1988 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Ss Coupe 2-door 5.0l on 2040-cars
Fort Lauderdale, Florida, United States
|
This is a White 1988 Monte Carlo SS and it was the last production rear wheel drive car to come out of Detroit.
Car has roughly 146,500 Miles and is in excellent condition. In fact, to quote the late great Lee Lacocca "if you can find another car in better shape than this one...Buy it" Everything that normally doesn't work after 25 years has been fix. Most wear and tear parts has been replaced and I have receipts for work done. This SS has the 305 High Output 4-BBL stock engine. K&N air filter, new belts, AC delco plugs, Shocks/Rear Springs, very recently rear brake/drums. This Monte is unmoslested and is other than the Pioneer CD Stereo and Flowmaster dual exhaust (which sounds great and is not too loud) the car all stock. Fully Loaded for it's time the car comes with the SS option package 2#, Maroon Cloth Buckets Seats, Speed Control with Resume Intermittent Front Wipers, Rear Defroster, Power Windows, Power Locks, and Power Trunk lid opener. TH-200-4R Four Speed Automatic Over Drive Transmission. Air Conditioning, Tinted Windows, New Windshield, Factory Floor Mats Tachometer, Tilt Wheel, Factory Volt and Oil Gauges 12V Power Outlet, Steering Wheel Lock and Engine cut off switch. This SS is well loaded and is in great condition inside and out. I'm the third register owner. The car was purchased from a Chevrolet dealer in Ohio back in 1988. It found it's way to Georgia and then to me in Florida. We Have the Owners Manual and some interesting extras like the oringal window sticker. This is a Great Chance to Own a piece of American 80's muscle car history. I drive this car just about everyday and I always run into somebody who knew someone that had this car back in the day. Long before pot bellies and grey or no hair. Most people are shocked on how clean she is. Happy Bidding. |

2014 Chevrolet SS makes its live debut
Sat, 16 Feb 2013Chevrolet showed off the new 2014 SS in an airport hangar last night, its first rear-wheel-drive performance sedan in the US since the Impala SS from 1997. We'll have more to say about the SS later today, but this is the sedan that Chevrolet sees as the final piece in restoring its performance credentials. For those of you looking for a manual transmission, however, that wish will go unfulfilled - at least for now: the only two options buyers will have are the color and whether or not they want a sunroof.
We'll work on getting some more angles (in better light) today at Daytona International Speedway, but with fans seeing the car for the first time, we don't hold out much luck of getting a clear shot. So for now, enjoy the high-res gallery above.
Leveling kit now available for Chevy Colorado, but not yet for GMC Canyon
Thu, May 14 2020In various bits of news this year concerning the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon pickups, we kept hearing about a front leveling kit. GM Authority found a few details in early order guides in January. In February, the kit came up in relation to the Canyon's AT4 Off-Road Performance Package, and again with AEV's upgraded Colorado Bison. After three months of waiting, GMA has more info. The kit eliminates the trucks' raked stance by raising the front by one inch, using an electro-coated upper spacer and a polyurethane lower spacer in order to maintain the proper suspension geometry. Installation is a bolt-on job with low-profile nuts, but the task will require a spring compressor. Fitted properly, the kit doesn't void GM's new vehicle warranty on the Colorado. Why do we only mention the Colorado? Because for some reason, the kit isn't available for the Canyon yet as a standalone component; the GMC stays raked without one of the aforementioned option packages. For Chevy, the leveling kit is compatible with any trim in four-wheel drive except the ZR2. It cannot be installed on two-wheel-drive trucks, nor any truck wearing wheels that are 20 inches or above. The kit is available now, ordered through any Chevy dealer for $150. There is a treat in store for GMC buyers, though, but it requires spending a lot more money. GM Authority discovered that the 2021 Yukon will offer the brand's first illuminated emblem. Priced at $475 as a dealer-installed option, a backlit glow will show off the GMC logo in the grille. The brand makes the logo in red and black, it's thought the red logo will get the nod, at least at first. Only the front logo earns the spotlight, not the one on the tailgate. GMA says the tchotchke will be available on all four trims when the new full-size crossover goes on sale in a few months.
GM Canada recalls 159,240 GMC and Chevy trucks for faulty defroster circuit
Fri, Jul 12 2019General Motors is recalling more than 159,000 2014-2019 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra pickup trucks in Canada due to a potential fire risk. GM says the rear defroster circuit could overheat on trucks optioned with the power-sliding rear window. Thus far, there is no word on the recall's relation to U.S. vehicles. The recall, found by Automotive News, was posted to Transport Canada on June 28, 2019 with manufacturer recall No. N192220470. Included in the 159,240 vehicles are the 2014-2018 Silverado 1500, the 2015-2019 Silverado HD, the 2014-2018 Silverado LD, the 2014-2018 Sierra 1500, the 2015-2019 Sierra HD, and the 2014-2018 Sierra LD. The notice says the rear defroster circuit, specifically on trucks with the power-sliding rear window, could overheat. Because of its placement, this excess heat could cause melting, smoking, or possibly fire, in the worst case scenario. As of now, there is no official word when GM will initiate the recall and there is no official fix detailed just yet. GM suggests that owners, who will be notified by mail if their vehicles are affected, take their trucks to a dealer to remove the rear window defroster fuse as a stop-gap. Automotive News contacted GM to find out if the problem is also found in trucks sold in the United States, but no definitive statement was made, as the investigation is reportedly ongoing. We will update this space if American vehicles are found to be included in the problem.
