2006 Chevy Impala Ls Chevrolet Sedan 4 Door Silver on 2040-cars
Reno, Nevada, United States
This 2006 Impala is in excellent mechanical condition and runs like normal. I love this car and have maintained it meticulously but I have to move and I can't take it with me so I am motivated to sell and am open to offers. There are absolutely no issues with the chassis/frame, engine/power train, transmission, steering, brakes, fuel delivery, exhaust, cooling or electrical systems. I've never missed a scheduled service. I've taken care of it so it will take care of you. I traded in my two previous Impalas and they had 210,000 miles (2005 Impala) on one and 260,000 miles (2006 Impala) on the other. They still drove like they were brand new and both had their original engines and transmissions. This Impala was my commuter car while I was in New York state and therefore the mileage is almost entirely all highway driving. You should have no problem getting 250,000 miles plus out of it. It has the spare tire plus two extra tires and an extra steel wheel.
Cosmetic issues: there is a dent in the front passenger quarter-panel (see photos). There is a small dent on the hood (see photos), a small dent in the rear passenger quarter panel (see photos). There is a small (dime-size) cloth tear in one seat (see photos) and a small crack on the rear bumper (see photos). I had the electric passenger mirror replaced with a new one but it has not been color-matched. It has antenna mounts on the trunk which are visible in one of the pictures. I was quoted $180 to fix the dents and $75 for painting the mirror. It's dealer appraised at $5200 for private party sale in its present condition (with the cosmetic issues) but I felt the right thing to do was to take off $1,000 in case the buyer wants to fix the cosmetic issues. Thanks for looking! |

McLaren and Alonso will use Chevy engines at Indy 500
Tue, Dec 4 2018Fernando Alonso will have a Chevrolet engine in his McLaren when the double Formula One champion attempts to win next year's Indianapolis 500 in his second attempt, the British team announced on Tuesday. The 37-year-old Spaniard led 27 laps last year on his debut at The Brickyard in a Honda-powered Andretti Autosport car before retiring with an engine problem with 21 laps to go. The 2018 Indy 500 winner, Australian Will Power, won with Chevrolet-powered Team Penske last May. "Having Chevrolet power behind me means we're putting ourselves in the best possible position to compete at the front," said Alonso in a McLaren statement. The double Monaco Grand Prix winner, who won the Le Mans 24 Hours with Toyota this year, left Formula One at the end of the season last month and is targeting Indianapolis as the final part of the "Triple Crown of Motorsport": winning the Formula One championship (or Monaco), Le Mans and the Indy 500. The late Briton Graham Hill, also a two-times Formula One champion who died in 1975, is the only one to have done it, completing the triple in 1972.Reporting by Alan BaldwinRelated Video: Motorsports Chevrolet McLaren Racing Vehicles IndyCar
Here's why automakers roll out those Texas-themed pickup trucks
Thu, Sep 29 2016Every year, automakers with a full-size truck link make a big show of the Texas State Fair, usually involving a reveal of a new model. Sometimes they show a whole new truck, and other times a special edition centered on the Lone Star state. While some people might write this off as a quirk of the industry, others might be wondering, "What's the big deal with Texas?" As it turns out, part of the big deal with Texas is big truck sales. According to Dave Sullivan, product analysis manager at AutoPacific, Texas buys more trucks than any other state in the country. It's not a small margin either. Edmunds.com, one in five trucks sold in the US are sold in Texas. The state also accounts for 15 percent of the country's large truck sales, which is more than twice that of California, the second largest truck market in America. Even when you break down sales only in Texas, trucks are a huge piece of the pie - Sullivan says that a quarter of new vehicle sales in Texas are trucks. One in five trucks sold in the US are sold in Texas. But it's not just sales that make truck builders give attention to Texas. As Sullivan explained, "Pickups are life in Texas." Both he and Hugh Milne, marketing and advertising manager for the Chevy Silverado line, said that trucks are key fixtures in Texas society, as both work trucks and luxury vehicles (or Texas Cadillacs as Milne called them). Milne said Texas is so important in the truck market that if you want to be successful in the rest of the country, "you've got to be successful in Texas." As for the State Fair, it has become a prime location for reveals in part because of the importance of the Texas market and because of how big the fair is. Milne also revealed that the State Fair also hosts its own auto show, so it's an ideal venue for a vehicle introduction. So there you have it. Why do truck builders obsess over Texas? It's because Texas obsesses over trucks. When you have one market that loves your product that much, you give it the attention it deserves. More Corvette Stingray Factoids: Vanishing panel gaps and 26-mpg LT1
Thu, 28 Feb 2013During January's Detroit Auto Show, we managed a longer than expected wandering tag-team interview with C7 Corvette chief engineering exec Tadge Juechter (pictured above), and LT1 engine boss Jordan Lee (pictured below). They are, quite honestly, two of the very nicest bigshot lads to ever walk the engineering corridors of an American manufacturer. Both are enthralled by what they're doing for a day job. So are we.
We've followed the pre-sale anticipation for the Chevrolet C7 Corvette Stingray like an Oreck vacuum yanking every speck of dirt from a well-trampled carpet. Everything is reportable and contains a grain of further knowledge about this dramatically important and cheered-for car, as it continues to be pressured into representing all that is superior about the American dream. The Corvette wears one heavy cloak.
So, most of what was talked about has been expertly reported already right here on Autoblog. But, looking through our notes again, both Jeuchter and Lee added facts to the buzzing mix.
