1969 Chevrolet Impala 327ci, 350 Turbo, Candy Brandy Wine Paint, New Chrome Look on 2040-cars
Union City, California, United States
1969 Chevrolet Impala 327ci, 350 turbo, Candy brandy wine paint, Rally rims, and stereo system. This Impala runs perfect. Rebuilt about 10,000 miles ago. It has Edelbrock carb, Edelbrock performer intake, Headers, Bored .30 over, Mild cam, Dual exhaust, and Cherrybomb mufflers. Sounds very nice with a almost unnoticeable hop from the cam. Gets great gas mileage for what it is. 18-20 mpg. Cruises down the freeway as smooth as my Lincoln Towncar. Has A/C but not hooked up. Absolutely no disappointments in the engine compartment. The interior is very nice for a driver. Impala logo stitching in all four headrests. Headliner is perfect. Very clean, and neat. Dash is in great shape. For show, I would get a new dash pad, back speaker grill covers, a little bit of my own elbow gresse to fit and tuck the passenger rear panel (no rips or tears just needs a fixing), and a good detail. All gauges work. Added oil pressure (oil pressure sits pretty at idle), voltage meter, and water temperature. Truck, Floor, and inner fenders sheet metal is perfect with no rust or rot. I personally would change the steering wheel. The exterior paint is in driver condition. Not show, not horrible. Car gets a little more attention than I like. The body is completely straight, I mean laser straight. Except one ding on the passenger door that is unnoticeable without a second look. About the size of a dime. There's a few bubbles in the paint if you stand up close you can see them in the corners. Color matched rally rims with chrome beauty rings. Lowered all around. Sits nice, and low. Chrome was redone shines better than new. Fill the gas tank under the rear licenses plate. I've done my best to describe the car. If I think of anything to add I will. If you have any questions Email, or call me. I will answer all questions. I will send a video of the car running to interested party's. The car is for sale locally. I could end the auction at anytime. A lot of people want the car but, haven't showed me the cash. CHARLES 1-510-938-9001 (8:00am to 10:00pm Pacific time) On Apr-08-14 at 19:30:44 PDT, seller added the following information: I keep getting text messages that go no where. Please do not text me. I will answer all questions by Email, or call. Here's the answer to the questions I keep being asked. The paint is good for a driver car. If you are looking to show & shine the car I would paint it. The body is straight so a paint job should be really cheap. A family friend of ours told me he would paint it a solid color for me for $2200.oo. That's work, and paint included. He does exceptional work. I've added pictures of the headliner, bottom of car, trunk, firewall, and front of engine looking down. This car is an older restoration which is SOLID. Again, the A/C is not connected. The original stereo is there but, not connected. There is a after market deck, tweets, 5.25 rears, and two 12 subs in the trunk. Sounds good in the cab, not going to turn heads a quarter mile down the street. The bottom of the car looks to be redone at some time, very clean. No sun visors, the rest of the interior is complete. The trunk has been carpeted, its huge and the floor is solid (like brand new solid). This car will not disappoint. |

Ram 1500 bests new F-150 in MT pickup shootout
Tue, Nov 25 2014Ford's 2015 Ford F-150 is a technological tour-de-force, what with its aluminum-intensive construction and its powerful and efficient new 2.7-liter EcoBoost engine option. But now that it's hit the market, it's time to get down to brass tacks and find out how just the latest F-150 actually stands up to its rivals in the hyper-competitive fullsize segment. Motor Trend is among the first to round up the Ford (in Lariat 2.7-liter 4X4 guise here) and put it up against the Ram 1500 Outdoorsman EcoDiesel 4x4 and 5.3-liter-equipped Silverado 1500 LTZ Z71 to find out how Dearborn's new-think truck measures up. The test put the trio through over 1,000 miles of tough driving in California and Arizona in a variety of conditions from just cruising around unladen to hauling a trailer. MT found all three trucks to be competent, but the most praise got heaped on the Ram and the Ford, with the Chevrolet falling a step behind its competitors in many tests. Among the Ford's most-liked features was its 2.7-liter, twin-turbo V6 that helped make the F-150 easily the quickest of the group, with some editors saying the engine felt about the same whether driving around with cargo in the bed or not. There was some minor turbo lag during acceleration while trailering, but that issue affected the Ram, too. The Ram's powertrain was lauded, as well. The EcoDiesel was torquey around town, and the 1500's combination of an eight-speed automatic and air suspension was judged to be the best of the lot. It was the most difficult to get into the bed, though. The Ram also won the fuel economy award by netting 20-miles-per-gallon city and 28-mpg highway in the test to beat its Environmental Protection Agency ratings of 19/27. The Ford's EcoBoost managed 17/22, one mpg off each from the EPA numbers, and using a lot of throttle really depleted its efficiency. As MT notes, however, it would take time for the diesel's mileage savings to pay off at the pump for these two trucks. In the end, the Ram just barely eked out the win, with the title partially earned because of "the Ford's unknown maintenance and aluminum repair costs," according to MT. GM 6.2L V8 claims most powerful light-duty truck engine title
Thu, 12 Sep 2013General Motors has officially captured the horsepower crown for mainstream pickup trucks with its 6.2-liter V8. The big mill, available in both the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, comes to market with 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, handily outdoing its two cross-town competitors, Ram (5.7-liter V8, 395 ponies and 407 lb-ft) and Ford (6.2-liter V8, 411 hp and 434 lb-ft).
The new GM 6.2 will take a bit of an investment, though. Those that want the extra thrust will need to go with either the LTZ or High Country trims from the Chevy, or the SLT and Denali trims from GMC, which are the two highest trim levels for the respective vehicles. Trim levels aside, if you're in the business of towing, GM has you covered. Optioned with the 6.2-liter V8 and the Max Trailering Package, owners will be able to pull 12,000 pounds, a hugely impressive figure.
We still aren't certain as to what sort of economy the new engine will get, but it'll probably be a bad bet for the fuel conscious. As for availability, expect to see the 6.2-liter trucks in showrooms later in the fall.
UAW rejects GM contract proposal but makes a counter offer
Tue, Oct 1 2019The United Auto Workers union said a new comprehensive offer made by General Motors Co late Monday to end a two-week-old strike was not acceptable and said it had made a new counterproposal. UAW vice president Terry Dittes said in a letter to members "there are many important issues that remain unresolved." The union is awaiting GM's next proposal. He said GM's offer came up short on many issues. Dittes said GM made a "comprehensive proposal" at 9:40 p.m. Monday. "This proposal that the company provided to us on day 15 of the strike did not satisfy your contract demands or needs. There were many areas that came up short like health care, wages, temporary employees, skilled trades and job security to name a few." Dittes is the union's vice president for GM relations and the UAW's lead negotiator in these contract talks. "We have responded today with a counterproposal and are awaiting GM's next proposal to the union," he wrote. "Regardless of what is publicized in print or social media, etc., there are still many important issues that remain unresolved." The strike, in its third week, has cost GM more than $1 billion, according to J.P. Morgan analyst Ryan Brickman. He said the cost per day in potential profit is $82 million. However, another analysis, by East Lansing-based consultant Anderson Economic Group, put the losses at $25 million a day. And the effects of the strike are expanding. GM said Tuesday the strike has created a parts shortage that forced the automaker to halt production at its pickup and transmission plants in Silao, Mexico, temporarily laying off 6,000 workers. Silao is where GM builds its highly profitable four-door crew cab Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra pickups. The strike has also forced GM to idle some Canadian workers, and many suppliers have been forced to halt operations. About 48,000 UAW members went on strike on Sept. 16 seeking higher pay, greater job security, a bigger share of the leading U.S. automaker’s profit and protection of their healthcare.Â
