1965 Chevy Impala 2 Door Hardtop, 300 HP 327, 3 Speed Manual Transmission, Milano Maroon, Dealer Installed A/C, 2 Owner, Numbers Matching, All Documentation. HISTORY This car was purchased new on 4/19/1965 by my Uncle. He worked as the Parts Manager at the local Chevy dealership. It was his Wife's car. She babysat me every summer and I always loved riding in that car. She passed away in 1997. I bought the car from my Uncle that year with the intention to restore it. I started the restoration but had to move to a new home where there was no room in the garage to work on it so I put it in a dry barn with a concrete floor where it sat for 16 years. It ran perfectly well when I started removing parts, cleaning them up and repainting some of them as I went. I removed the engine and put it on an engine stand where it still sits. (Engine stand included in sale.) All the small parts and screws are in ziplock bags and are labeled. The large parts are tagged. DETAILS I will give you as much detailed info as I can, if you need more info or pics please let me know. Vin# 164375S209837 Engine # F0407HA 327CI Transmission# S0406 3 speed on column Axel# DD0409G Paint Code NN Milano Maroon Mileage 128,985 I have the Original 1965 Title, Original 1965 Chevrolet Owner Protection Plan Booklet with PROTECT-O-PLATE, Original 1965 Chevrolet Owners Guide and Original 1965 Custom Feature Accessories Booklet, and the Original Keys. CONDITION The body is in good condition. There is rust on the rocker panels and rear fenders. Surface rust on the hood and trunk lid (I sprayed rustoleum on some rust spots so they would not get worse). Body is straight. Never been in an accident. All glass in original and in good shape. Most of the chrome trim is in good shape, including the grill. There are a couple very small dings on a couple pieces and 1 small one on the grill. Window trim is good. Bumpers are ok, a couple little dings. Tail light lenses are ok, a couple cracks. Dealer installed A/C blew cold when started the restoration. I never broke the seal on the A/C lines. All emblems are in good shape. There is significant rust on the frame at the front of the doors on both sides, about 12" in length. Interior seats and headliner are split. Package tray is bad, but I have a replacement one not installed. Door panels, dash, steering wheel, instrument cluster are all in great shape. Door handles and window cranks are in good shape and work well. Floor pans are good. Trunk has a little rust. Weather stripping is brittle and cracked. Tires are bad. Chevy Rally Wheels, trim rings and center caps. EVERYTHING IS HERE! NOTHING WAS DISCARDED! Every screw, every nut, every bolt. All labeled and tagged. A lot of parts are in the trunk. Hot Wheels' Twitter-enabled vending machine coughs up free Camaro diecasts
Wed, 27 Feb 2013There are still plenty of companies that haven't gotten the whole social media thing down pat yet, but Hot Wheels isn't one of them. During the recent Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto, Hot Wheels created a lot of buzz for itself by using a vending machine filled with Chevrolet Camaro models, but instead of money to get the cars, show attendees just had to use Twitter.
To get the free car, people were asked to send a tweet to Hot Wheels Canada saying what they liked about the new Hot Wheels Edition Camaro, and including the #ChevyCIAS hashtag. This seemed to be a popular marketing tool, too, as AdWeek reports that the @HotWheelsCanada account more than tripled in followers during the course of the 10-day show. Looking ahead, this could open up even more innovative marketing possibilities using social media.
Check out the video posted below to watch how it works, and while the auto show has ended and the free-car giveaway has too, we're almost certain that some of the 1,500 freebies will make their way onto eBay.
Next-gen Chevy Cruze caught cruising in the cold
Wed, 13 Feb 2013Spy photographers have caught what looks like the next-generation Chevrolet Cruze out on snow patrol. The camo could be tricking our eyes, but it look like it has an even tidier, more rounded front end and even lower fenders in relation to the top of the hood. And either a chunk of camo has been wedged between the side mirrors and the doors, or the mirrors are up for revision, too.
The door handles have been moved up the side of the car, leading the way to a rear end that grows a bit in length. If the rumors are true, the coming second-generation Cruze sits on the new D2XX platform that will replace the Delta and Theta platforms at General Motors. A global architecture, the Cruze will be the first to get it, but it will underpin everything from next Chevrolet Volt to the Equinox and could be responsible for 2.5 million units by 2018. The next Cruze is expected to begin production in GM's Lordstown, Ohio plant in the third quarter of 2014.
2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray priced from $51,995*
Fri, 26 Apr 2013After months of speculation, Chevrolet has finally revealed the official starting price of the 2014 Corvette Stingray. The base MSRP for the 450-horsepower Stingray Coupe will be $51,995, while the Stingray Convertible will go for $56,995 (*both prices include a $995 destination fee). This means that the price increase from 2013 to 2014 is just $1,400 for the coupe and $2,395 for the convertible - pretty modest increases considering the upgrade in specifications. Of course, neither price accounts for the sort of dealer markup that might grace early C7 window stickers, especially since less than a third of all Chevrolet dealers will be allocated Corvette models to sell at the car's launch.
Now, these prices are for the base car, so if you're wondering how much a fully loaded Stingray will run, Chevy has given us a good indication of that as well. The coupe we saw on display at the Detroit Auto Show (shown above), for example, would run $73,360 including options such as the $2,800 Z51 Performance Package, $2,495 competition sport seats and the $1,795 Magnetic Ride Control option - just to name a few. Stepping up to the 3LT trim level that brings a full leather interior will run an extra $8,005 over the base price.
While $20,000 in options may seem like a lot, this "as-tested" price still has the C7 competitively priced against rival coupes like the Porsche 911 and Nissan GT-R. Speaking of price comparisons, Chevrolet also points out that the C7 Stingray Z51 costs $2,200 less than the C6 Grand Sport while delivering better acceleration (0-60 mph in less than four seconds) and improved track performance (including more than 1 g in cornering).
