1965 Chevrolet Impala Sport Coupe - Only 17,000 actual documented miles! This time capsule was unearthed in 2013 from a spotless, dry garage and is much better than a corroded barn find! If you have been following the saga of the Lambrecht Chevrolet auction, you will have seen this car’s twin (a 396 non SS) sell for $72,500. The car offered here is in superior condition but with a small block. This is an investment grade vehicle. Mr. Taylor was the original owner – he cherished and pampered this beautiful Artesian Turquoise car since the very first day of his ownership on August 26, 1965. It has been garage kept its entire life and has never been rained on. Mr. Taylor passed away in 1994 and the car was left undisturbed until his wife’s passing in 2013 when I purchased it from the couple’s two adult daughters. The car is completely original – nothing has been altered or changed except for “new” tires in 1973, reproduction battery & cables in 2013, and fresh brakes a few weeks ago. The original paint is exquisite and includes some touched up areas and rock chips. All original paperwork is included – the window sticker, bill of sale, maintenance book, protect-o-plate, and owner’s manual. All receipts from new are included as well as Virginia State inspection slips where the mileage was recorded every six months. The documentation is extensive and the paper trail unbroken. This car has a clear VA title marked “Actual” next to the mileage. This car is equipped with a silky smooth and quiet 283 2-barrel and Powerglide transmission. You will note in the photos a very rare engine cable anchoring system installed by GM under a motor mount recall dated April 1972. The original invoice included dealer undercoating and the black on the engine is overspray. The seat covers were installed when new and have yellowed but the upholstery below is absolutely perfect and as new. The condition of this car is just astonishing from every angle. Everything works as original except the clock – frozen in time somewhere in the sixties… Matt Ferrary (h) 540-254-1698 A note about bidding: There is NO RESERVE once the first bid is placed. Your bids will be respected and protected - I will not sell this vehicle out from under you - I will hold it until the end of the auction. This car IS NOT advertised locally or anywhere else.

The Corvette Museum sinkhole has been filled
Wed, Feb 11 2015After swallowing eight of the most prized pieces of the collection from the National Corvette Museum, the massive sinkhole from a year ago is rapidly becoming nothing but a bad memory. Based on the museum's weekly construction update, you can barely see the remnants of the 25-foot deep hole once in the floor. The Corvette Museum's Skydome was not always going to look like this. The original hope was to keep the sinkhole there as a tourist attraction. That plan eventually fell through, though, and instead it was decided five of the less-damaged Corvettes would remain unrestored. Progress has been moving fast to get the repairs done. Even a month ago, the hole was still very visible, and the construction company used remote-controlled Bobcat loaders to fill it in. Now, the museum has launched a contest to guess how many tons of stone it took to fill in the massive crater. The winner gets a print of the 2009 Corvette ZR1 Blue Devil being lifted out. 2014 Chevrolet Corvette C7 Convertible offers a few more views before reveal
Mon, 04 Mar 2013Over the weekend, Chevrolet released its first images of the new 2014 Corvette Stingray Convertible. Now, ahead of the droptop's official introduction tomorrow at the Geneva Motor Show, the automaker has given us a few more shots of the softop C7 showing off the car's rump albeit from a high, strategically positioned angle.
From this angle, it's hard to get a sense for how long and flat the decklid really is, but we can easily see that, like the rest of the C7's design, the new convertible's decklid and tonneau cover are far more detailed than the current car. We also get a better look at the rear haunches sans brake vents, which have apparently been moved to underneath the car in order to accommodate the top's hard cover.
As for the overall styling of the C7 convertible, with the top erected, we get some idea of what a coupe design (as opposed to the Stingray's fastback shape) would look like on this car. The C5 Corvette most recently had a coupe model that did away with the large glass hatchback, and we recently reported on a low-cost "coupe" model potentially being added to the C7's repertoire.
2019 GMC Sierra revealed with CarbonPro bed and new diesel engine
Thu, Mar 1 2018It's only March, and it's already been one hell of a year for trucks. January's Detroit Auto Show saw the reveals of the 2019 Ram 1500, 2019 Ford Ranger and the 2019 Chevy Silverado. The Chicago Auto Show brought new versions of the Toyota Tacoma and Toyota Tundra TRD Pro. Today, we finally got our first look at the Silverado's twin, the 2019 GMC Sierra. The truck features new styling, a new diesel engine and — on the Sierra Denali — a carbon fiber bed. As with every new full-size truck, the Sierra is larger than the outgoing model in almost every dimension, though exact dimensions haven't been revealed. For reference, though, the Chevy Silverado's bed is 7-inches wider than before. The new Sierra grille is more upright than before and features new C-shaped lighting. The Denali gets LED headlights, tail lights and fog lights. Both SLT and Denali trims get unique 22-inch wheels. As we saw in spy photos, the Sierra's interior is mostly just a copy of the Silverado's with some chrome accents sprinkled throughout. If you like the current truck interiors, you'll be pleased with the new model. Those hoping for a wholesale change will be left wanting. The big improvements inside include a full-color heads-up display, trailer hitch assist apps and cameras, and the rear-camera mirror found in models like the Chevy Traverse and Cadillac CT6. Safety and convenience features include a surround-view camera, blind-spot monitoring, pedestrian detection and low-speed automatic braking. Like the Silverado, there's been a significant effort to cut weight in the new Sierra. The 2019 model loses as much as 360 pounds compared to the current truck. It uses aluminum for the doors, hood and tailgate. Steel is still used for the fenders, roof and standard cargo box. The Denali, however, gets the real surprise here. Available only on the top-tier trim, the bed box will be constructed of carbon fiber rather than steel, saving 62 pounds. Carbon fiber only replaces the steel inner panels and floor. GMC says the carbon fiber will also help scratch and corrosion resistance. SLT and Denali models also get a new MultiPro tailgate. This is unique to the Sierra and separate from the Silverado's power assist unit. A new feature that helps one get into and out of the bed using an assist handle. The tailgate step has a maximum weight capacity of 375 pounds. There multiple positions that allow customers to extend the bed, or drop the center vertically to gain easier access to the back.
