1997 Chevrolet Express Conversion Van By Explorer 5.7 V8 Leather, Power Inverter on 2040-cars
Port Saint Lucie, Florida, United States
|
Offering for sale our PA titled 1997 Chevrolet High Top Conversion Van by
Explorer. Kindly note that this van is titled in Pennsylvania, but is physically located and will need picked up in Port St. Lucie, Florida. Port St. Lucie is about 40 minutes north of West Palm Beach airport. Fly in and drive home! We'll pick you up at the airport, drive you to the notary to sign off on the title and send you on your way! The van is also loaded with a full tank of gasoline to get you on your way home - our compliments to you! This van has a few cosmetic issues on the front and rear bumpers as seen in the pictures. The top too, is a tad faded. We bought it with these imperfections because in our minds it doesn't impact the value of this van. We just purchased this van in late March 2014 for the purpose of loading it up with personal items and driving it to and from our Florida home on a few occasions.
When we purchased it in March 2014, we had it go through a PA inspection and had the
following work performed: four new Goodyear Wrangler tires installed, a
new Interstate battery, and we decided to go ahead and have the shop
replace the fuel pump as well. It would start, but sometimes you'd have
to turn the key to ignite it quickly or pump the pedal to get the gas
flowing. Apparently this was a common issue with this model and year of
Chevy van, so knowing that we didn't want to get stuck on our initial drive from
PA to FL, we had the fuel pump and assembly replaced. It starts right
up with no issues. Family members who come to visit have used the van in the interim on their "vacations" and just love it!
The interior is in great shape! No carpet stains, no smoke smell (we are
non smokers), the leather is beautiful and looks in new condition. No
wear marks to note. The headliner and wood trim are in great shape too.
Also, there's a power inverter that we had put in this van. It draws
from the main battery, and it's great for the addition of a DVD player
or any other electronic you'd want to run in the van. Also, 3
"cigarette" style plug in's are near the inverter in addition to the one
up front. It's great for charging multiple cell phones. The van comes equipped with manual fabric blinds for extra privacy all around. A television, VHS Player, DVD Player and pre-wired SNES hookups (add your own system) keep the little (and big) ones entertained. All surround interior "mood" lights work perfectly. Power windows, doors, locks and rear bed.
You'll notice on the exterior that the typical wide style pin striping
for this year has been removed. We used the 3m eraser wheel to take them
off as we didn't like the outdated look. Some impressions still remain where the clear coat was applied. Refer to pictures as they do serve as part of the item description. The smaller pin stripes still
remain tastefully around the windows, etc. Overall, this van is in very good condition other than the minor exterior bumps and bruises. We'd drive it anywhere, but a lifestyle change for us necessitates the sale of this van at this time. This is an AS-IS transaction. It is up to you, the buyer, to inspect this vehicle PRIOR to purchase. Once you bid, you are entering into a legally binding contract to purchase this car. Cash / cashier's check purchase only! NOTE: Payment and vehicle pick-up are required within 3 days of auction end. |

Corvette Stingray Convertible images mysteriously appear on web, so we add our own
Tue, 22 Jan 2013It was inevitable that we'd see the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray topless at some point, but that didn't make us any less interested when a pair of supposedly leaked official images showed up on theautoinsiderblog.com last week. We posted them on our Facebook page, but held off reporting on them here until we could get a little more information.
Those images, which feature a dark red car on a sterile black studio background, supposedly first appeared on the website of diecast model maker Maisto. A Chevrolet spokesman has been reported saying that they are "not official images released by Chevrolet PR," which isn't a denial they're the real deal, but neither is it a confirmation.
Close examination of the photos suggest they could be official shots of the Corvette Stingray Convertible, and while some have doubted their authenticity due to a lack of vents (which were seen on the C7s that debuted in Detroit last week), it could be that the images are of a base model car without the Z51 package that doesn't require the extra venting and cooling.
GM profit dips on truck changeover, but beats estimates
Thu, Apr 26 2018DETROIT — General Motors on Thursday reported a higher-than-expected quarterly profit despite a drop in production of high-margin pickup trucks, as it gears up for new models that are expected to boost profits next year. Like rivals Ford and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, GM is banking on highly-profitable Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra pickup trucks to lift profits, as consumers shift away from traditional passenger cars in favor of these larger, more comfortable trucks, SUVs and crossovers. During the first quarter, the process of changing over to GM's new pickups resulted in a drop in production of 47,000 units. GM Chief Financial Officer Chuck Stevens said the production drop had resulted in a drop in pre-tax profit of up to $800 million. Earlier this year, GM said its 2018 profits would be flat compared with 2017, but expected its all-new pickup trucks would boost margins starting in 2019. On Thursday, GM reiterated its full-year 2018 forecast for adjusted earnings in a range from $6.30 to $6.60 per share. The automaker said capital expenditures were more than $500 million higher in the quarter because of investments its new pickup trucks and a family of low-cost vehicles under development with Chinese partner SAIC Motor Corp. On Wednesday, rival Ford said it would stop investing in most traditional passenger sedans in North America. CFO Stevens told reporters on Thursday that GM has "already indicated that we will make significantly lower investments on a go-forward basis" in sedans. 2019 GMC Sierra View 21 Photos GM benefited from a lower effective tax rate in the quarter, but adjusted pre-tax margin fell to 7.2 percent from 9.5 percent a year earlier. Stevens said the company's profit margin should hit 10 percent or higher in the second quarter and for the full year. GM said material costs were $700 million higher in the first quarter, and it expects those costs to continue rising. The automaker said it would counter those increases with cost cutting measures. "It is a more difficult environment than it was three or four months ago," Stevens said when asked about rising commodity prices from potential steel and aluminum tariffs announced by the Trump administration. "But we are confident we can continue to offset that." The company reported quarterly net income of $1.05 billion or $1.43 per share, a drop of nearly 60 percent from $2.61 billion or $1.75 per share a year earlier. Analysts had on average expected earnings per share of $1.24.
A conversation with GM's Mark Reuss on MPG, aluminum and Corvettes
Wed, Feb 19 2014There was plenty to talk about when General Motors hosted its annual mid-December holiday media reception a few months ago. GM had just decided to pull its global Chevrolet brand out of major European markets, where Chevys have competed directly with GM Europe Opel and Vauxhall vehicles, and the US government had sold its last remaining shares of GM stock. But most important was the company's just-reshuffled leadership. Post-bankruptcy CEO Dan Akerson had announced that he would step aside and that 52-year-old Mary Barra would replace him on January 15. Not only would she be the first woman to lead a major automaker, she would also be GM's first engineer CEO since Bob Stempel in the early 1990s. "I look at 2013 and 2014, as the retooling of General Motors" - Mark Reuss Replacing her as executive VP for global product development (and purchasing and supply chain) would be 49-year-old Mark Reuss, who had served a stellar four years as North American president, and elevated to corporate president (from executive VP and CFO) would be 42-year-old Dan Amman. All three are relatively young auto enthusiasts who are liked and respected inside and outside the company, and their collective talents and experience are highly complementary. I've interviewed Barra and found her smart, personable and knowledgeable, though she carefully walks the corporate line in speaking and answering questions. I met and chatted with Ammann for the first time at that holiday reception, and he made a good first impression. But I've known Reuss for some time as a genuinely good guy and a highly capable and inspiring leader, and I believe he is exactly the right person for the global product responsibility once famously held by the outspoken, oft-controversial Bob Lutz. So I jumped at an opportunity to join a group interview of Reuss (with mostly business reporters) at the Detroit Auto Show in January. It was an interesting session of mostly good questions, which he answered with refreshing candor and humor. "I look at 2013 and 2014, as the retooling of General Motors," Reuss said. "We've taken down almost every plant in North America, converted and turned it this last year, and to do that with award-winning vehicles and pretty flawless launches is key. We have to keep the train rolling on great product, because the rest won't happen without the best product, period." A reporter asked whether GM was pushing big trucks, SUVs and Corvettes again because gas is cheap. "No," Reuss said.
