This is a 2012 Chevy Cruze that is quite amazing to drive. This has the desireable ECO package with the 17" Chrome wheels as is shown on the TV commercials. It has an estimated 42 MPG.  The original owner expressed to me they were getting between 40-42 mpg.  It is in like new condition as you can see.  It has the turbocharged motor with lots of pick up and drives smoothly and quietly.  It starts, runs, shifts, and stops as new and all features and options are working properly. It has 14,416 miles with many upgrades.  The options/features include Power Windows, Power Locks, Power Drivers Seat, Air Conditioning, Cruise Control, Leather Steering Wheel with Radio and other controls on the wheel. Power Side View Mirrors - Keyless Entry - CD Player - Digital Compass - USB and Aux inputs - On Star buttons in rear view mirror -Front, Seat and Side Curtain Air Bags, Rear Bumper Sensors when backing up to close objects and many more extras.

This Cruze comes with a rebuilt title due to an accident by the owner.  The hood and front bumper were replaced.  The accident was minor enough that no airbags were deployed. The car has since been inspected by the Maryland State Police.

With the Eco package and options purchased by the owner this listed for over $22,500 last year. This would be good for someone looking to save on a new car purchase and who is looking to save on fuel costs with the Eco package. The Eco is advertised as one of the highest fuel efficient gas automobiles. This is actually the red Eco with the chrome wheels that is in the TV commercials. This is being sold without a reserve so it will go to the winning bidder. I added the buy it now feature in case you were not able to wait for the auction to end.  Please let me know if you have any questions. If the car is not as described when you pick it up you will not be required to purchase. With the sale I will be donating 5% of the proceeds to a local nonprofit I help found.  ciscocenter(.org)  Payment can be by certified check that has cleared, cash or wired funds. Buyer is responsible for any shipping. I am 15 minutes from BWI airport and I can assist with meeting.

AWD turbodiesel Equinox, Terrain dropped for 2020

Thu, May 2 2019

Citing low demand, General Motors is dropping the AWD diesel options off the Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain roster. Chevrolet spokesman Kevin Kelly confirmed to CarsDirect that for 2020, the diesel versions of these SUVs will only be offered with front-wheel-drive. CarsDirect notes that with the AWD diesel Equinox and Terrain gone, the only AWD diesel option in this class is the Mazda CX-5 Skyactiv diesel, which is significantly more expensive: As the AWD diesel CX-5 is only available in a fully loaded Signature specification, the $42,045 price tag is almost $10k heftier than the cheapest comparable Equinox, the AWD 1.6-liter diesel LT which starts from $32,495. The 2019 GMC Terrain AWD SLE costs $34,795 in comparison, which works out to being around $7,200 cheaper than the Mazda. The higher trim levels for the Equinox and Terrain are Premier and SLT, respectively. Some reasoning behind the AWD diesel GM SUV's low uptake is their own price difference to base FWD gasoline models: you can get a 1.5-liter Equinox for less than §25,000 listed. While the 2.2-liter Mazda has plenty more power at 168 hp and 290 lb-ft, compared to 137hp and 240 lb-ft in the 1.6-liter GM SUVs, the Equinox and Terrain are notably more frugal – they are rated 32mpg combined, while the Mazda can manage 28 mpg. With better fuel economy and a significantly lower list price, the General Motors twins are at least more wallet-friendly when it comes to numbers, and as the vehicles will cease to be built in that configuration there's likely to be some cash on the hood on ones in stock. Chevy's latest Silverado videos assume we're idiots

Mon, Jul 6 2015

UPDATE: This article has been revised to reflect that any mention of materials used in a future Chevrolet Silverado is speculation. Can we have a sound, rational debate about the merits of aluminum versus steel? According to Chevrolet's latest marketing videos pitting the Silverado against the Ford F-150, the answer is no. The tone of all three ads is almost Orwellian: steel good, aluminum bad. Of course, this will all be a hilarious joke when an aluminum-bodied Silverado comes in 2018. That's an if, as a member of the General Motor public relations team has reminded me that any articles regarding future product are pure speculation. Until then Chevy needs to sell the current Silverado, with its body comprised chiefly of steel, against the Ford F-150's lightweight aluminum panels. Instead of touting the merits of the "most-dependable, longest lasting pickup," the strategy seems to center around negative propaganda towards the 13th element. The tone of all three ads is almost Orwellian: steel good, aluminum bad. Of the three videos, the most fair is Silverado vs. F-150 Repair Costs and Time: Howie Long Head to Head. Basically: aluminum costs more than steel, it's more difficult to repair, and requires special equipment for body shops. In terms of Chevy versus Ford, the blue oval truck costs more and takes longer to repair - an average of $1,755 more and 34 more days in the shop, according to the ad. But why stop there when you can have pitchman Howie Long raising an eyebrow at random facts? When Silverado Chief Engineer Eric Stanczak says of the Ford, "It's manufactured in a way that combines aluminum, rivets, and adhesive in a process that's different than Silverado." Long responds, "Huh. Interesting." At the end of the video, Long says "I'd be interested to know what happens to insurance costs." Note he's not saying anything substantive. If Chevy's legal team could sign off on some facts about insurance rates, it would be in this ad. On our Autoblog Cost to Own calculator, there is no significant difference in projected insurance costs between the two trucks. But at least that ad has facts. The other two videos are pure hype. In Cages: High Stength Steel, real people are asked what they think of aluminum and steel in a room with two cages. Then a bear is released into the room, and the subjects scurry to the safety of the steel cage.
