2008 Chevrolet Corvette Z06

This car is about as nice as you can possibly get.
From the sound that roars from beneath this monster, to the minister look of the Black on Black on Black....
This car screams king of the streets!!

If you do not like attention, please move to the next eBay ad.
To add to the overly generous power of the stock ls7 engine platform, this Z06 has been increased to a whopping 600whp.
With the touch of a button built into the "man knob" shifter, you can open and close the exhaust to disguise or show off the monster roar of this car.

Sitting in the plush black leather interior driver seat of this custom Z06 you can pop in your destination on the in dash touch screen navigation system, depress the clutch shift into first gear and travel 0-60 faster then a Lamborghini Murcielago.

This car has only seen the drag strip twice for a total of 4 passes. In doing so with unfavorable heat conditions and unseasoned driver this car put down a solid 10.6 quarter mile. With proper tires and proper weather, this is easily capable of completing a 10.2 second quarter mile. Thats faster then the new 2013 Lamborghini Aventador priced at $375,000.

Everything about this car was done with drivability in mind.
We wanted to create a car that could be my every day driver to the office, while not fearing a single car that approached on the streets.
That being said this car is VERY comfortable for even the most congested high traffic roads.

Through all that tough talk, sort of like a bodybuilder that doesn't fight, this car never was beat on as a race car.
The open road quick accelerations are hard to resist with a throttle response so tempting, though hardcore racing was non existent to this vehicle.

The car is equipped with the following modifications, but this is as memory serves and not limited to:

Ported Heads
Custom Designed Cam for Max Power while maintaining everyday drivability
Kooks 1 7/8" Headers
Ported Intake Manifold Stage3
Ported Throttle Body
Cold Air Intake
Short Shifter
Tuned by FasterProms
Man Knob
Straight Exhaust w/ Muffler Mod
Lowered
Blacked Out Taillights Marker Lights ETC
Clutch Mod
CNC'd Rotors Eliminating approx 10 lbs of rotational mass
Forgestar Racing Wheels *backorder for 6months*

With the exhaust closed, this machine sounds like a tamed beast quietly panting awaiting to be set loose.
When you depress the button on the shifter and let all the might of this motor sound through the tailpipes of this car you and those in the general area of you know they are in the presence of something unlike your typical performance car.

As I stated in the first lines of this description. If you do not like attention turn away.
This car gets pictures taken of it whether you are parked or sitting at a stop light.
Police roll down there windows and compliment the workmanship.

Mechanically this car is sound.
It was built by FasterProms a well known respected GM performance modification company.
As a family member this car was always treated with top notch quality care.
It gets waxed weekly and stored in doors.
It is not subject to the rough salty roads of the north and drives straight as an arrow.
The previous owner and I are good friends so I knew the history of the car before I purchased.
Only selling the car due to other obligations.
Own the baddest car in your town.
Those with higher price tags will bow before the power that you can unleash with the press of the throttle.

THIS VIDEO DOES THE SOUND OF THIS CAR NOOOO JUSTICE NONE AT ALL.. BUT IT IS SOMETHING ATLEAST.

A conversation with GM's Mark Reuss on MPG, aluminum and Corvettes

Wed, Feb 19 2014

There was plenty to talk about when General Motors hosted its annual mid-December holiday media reception a few months ago. GM had just decided to pull its global Chevrolet brand out of major European markets, where Chevys have competed directly with GM Europe Opel and Vauxhall vehicles, and the US government had sold its last remaining shares of GM stock. But most important was the company's just-reshuffled leadership. Post-bankruptcy CEO Dan Akerson had announced that he would step aside and that 52-year-old Mary Barra would replace him on January 15. Not only would she be the first woman to lead a major automaker, she would also be GM's first engineer CEO since Bob Stempel in the early 1990s. "I look at 2013 and 2014, as the retooling of General Motors" - Mark Reuss Replacing her as executive VP for global product development (and purchasing and supply chain) would be 49-year-old Mark Reuss, who had served a stellar four years as North American president, and elevated to corporate president (from executive VP and CFO) would be 42-year-old Dan Amman. All three are relatively young auto enthusiasts who are liked and respected inside and outside the company, and their collective talents and experience are highly complementary. I've interviewed Barra and found her smart, personable and knowledgeable, though she carefully walks the corporate line in speaking and answering questions. I met and chatted with Ammann for the first time at that holiday reception, and he made a good first impression. But I've known Reuss for some time as a genuinely good guy and a highly capable and inspiring leader, and I believe he is exactly the right person for the global product responsibility once famously held by the outspoken, oft-controversial Bob Lutz. So I jumped at an opportunity to join a group interview of Reuss (with mostly business reporters) at the Detroit Auto Show in January. It was an interesting session of mostly good questions, which he answered with refreshing candor and humor. "I look at 2013 and 2014, as the retooling of General Motors," Reuss said. "We've taken down almost every plant in North America, converted and turned it this last year, and to do that with award-winning vehicles and pretty flawless launches is key. We have to keep the train rolling on great product, because the rest won't happen without the best product, period." A reporter asked whether GM was pushing big trucks, SUVs and Corvettes again because gas is cheap. "No," Reuss said.

GM already raising prices on 2014 Silverado and Sierra pickups

Mon, 14 Oct 2013

General Motors must be pretty pleased with sales of its two newest pickups, the GMC Sierra and Chevrolet Silverado, as it's announced price hikes for both models, as part of a planned price tweak.
Prices will be bumped by as much as $1,500, although weirdly, they'll be offset by as much as $1,500 in cash-back offers through the end of October. Fox Business reports that GM spokesman Jim Cain said of the price hike, "With the sell down of the '13 models nearly complete, this price adjustment was planned and is a normal part of business."
The move, as Fox is quick to point out, is an interesting one, as sales of the twin pickups struggled last month relative to the Ford F-Series, while both of GM's crosstown competitors have been aggressively undercutting Silverado and Sierra prices. The F-150 starts at $24,070 and the Ram 1500 comes in at $23,600, not counting any cash on the hood. A base Silverado, meanwhile, retails at $25,575.

What if the mid-engine Corvette is really a Cadillac?

Tue, Jun 28 2016

Call me crazy, but I'm not convinced the mid-engine Corvette is the next Corvette. The rumor is strong, yes. And, contrary to some of the comments on our site, Car and Driver - leader of the mid-engine Corvette speculation brigade - has a pretty good record predicting future models. But it's another comment that got me thinking: or maybe it's a Cadillac. There is clearly something mid-engine going on at GM, and I think it makes sense for the car to be a Cadillac. First off, check out how sweet the 2002 Cadillac Cien concept car still looks in the photo above. Second, there are too many holes in the mid-engine Corvette theory. There are too many holes in the mid-engine Corvette theory. The C7 is relatively young in Corvette years, starting production almost three years ago as a 2014 model. Showing a 2019 model at the 2018 North American International Auto Show would kill sales of a strong-selling car before its time. Not to mention it would only mean a short run for the Grand Sport, which was the best-selling version of the previous generation. More stuff doesn't add up. Mid-engine cars are, in general, more expensive. Moving the Vette upmarket leaves a void that the Camaro does not fill. There's not much overlap between Camaro and Corvette customers. Corvette owners are older and enjoy features like a big trunk that holds golf clubs. Mid-engine means less trunk space and alienating a happy, loyal buyer. Also, more than 60 years of history. The Corvette is an icon along the likes of the Porsche 911 and Ford Mustang. I'm not sure the car-buying public wants a Corvette that abandons all previous conventions. And big changes bring uncertainty - I don't think GM would make such a risky bet. Chevrolet could build a mid-engine ZR1, you might say, and keep the other Corvettes front-engine. Yes they could, and it would cost a ton of money. And they still need to fund development of that front-engine car. I highly doubt the corporate accountants would go for that. But a Cadillac? Totally. Cadillac is in the middle of a brand repositioning. GM is throwing money at this effort. A mid-engine halo car is the just the splash the brand needs to shake off the ghosts of Fleetwoods past. And it's already in Cadillac President Johan De Nysschen's playbook. He was in charge of Audi's North America arm when the R8 came out. A Caddy sports car priced above $100,000 isn't that unreasonable when you can already price a CTS-V in that range.
