1978 CHEVY CORVETTE

RARE 4 SPEED MANUAL
Up for auction is the 25th Anniversary of the Chevy Corvette! Rare find with a 4 speed Manual Transmission. Ready for it's new owner to bring it's paint job to its gorgeous state of two tone grey! The 1978 Chevy Corvette is in excellent condition other than needing some new paint. Runs excellent. Only 49,375 miles on the L48 350 V8 with 4 speed manual transmission That shifts great! Just starts right up and is ready cruise! The headers rumble with a growl. This one is begging to be driven.
The current and only the 2nd owner did make some smart choices in the repairs and modifications. First he completely tuned up the motor, added Headers and a Magna-flo dual-exhaust, new clutch on the 4 speed manual transmission, rebuilt the carb all of this had been done in 2009, new radiator and hoses, new brakes, lines, pads and rotors. New windshield. Tinted windows. New carpeting this year. New tires only about 1,500 miles on them (still have some nubs on the tires). Original red leather seats are in good condition, showing a little wear (pictured). A/C needs charging. All components work as they should other than the clock! Kenwood stereo system with Clarion amp. 4 speaker and a subwoofer. T-Tops are in excellent condition.
Car was stored for several years by first owner hence the low miles. Once purchased the current owner started the work mentioned above stopping short of a new paint job when deciding to sell. 2014 Chevrolet Impala [w/video]
Fri, 15 Mar 2013Can A Fleet Queen Become a Fullsize King?
On paper, the Chevrolet Impala is a pretty strong seller, posting annual sales that have hovered right around 170,000 units for the last two years, but it only takes one trip to practically any rental car agency to discover where the majority of those sales have come from. In fact, General Motors told Autoblog that a full 70 percent of Impala sales last year went to fleet companies for things like rental cars and government vehicles. Logic tells us that this is neither good for resale values nor name equity, so Chevrolet is getting ready to roll out an all-new Impala with improved comfort, styling and technology, hoping to turn the tables on its retail-to-fleet ratio.
Chevrolet's sedans have come on quite strong in the last few months with the introduction of the Cruze diesel and the SS sedan, but while these will likely be low-volume sellers, there's more pressure for the new Impala to perform well as GM looks to slash fleet sales and compete with the wide variety of full-size sub-luxury sedans. Riding on a platform shared with the Buick LaCrosse and Cadillac XTS, the 2014 Impala will compete against the Hyundai Azera, Ford Taurus and Toyota Avalon on the more traditional side, while also looking to take a bite out of somewhat sportier models like the Chrysler 300/Dodge Charger twins and the Nissan Maxima. We headed to sunny San Diego to see if this totally new Impala can stand on its own without the assistance of fleet companies and rental agencies. [w/video

Chevy revealed the 2024 Traverse with new looks, a new engine and on off-road(ish) trim. Hyundai gave us a glimpse at the wild styling of the next Santa Fe. Dodge might bring back the Stealth nameplate as an SUV, and that has implications for the Durango as well. Ford, after repeatedly raising prices, has turned around and significantly discounted the F-150 Lightning across all trims. The first Tesla Cybertruck has rolled off the line as a pre-production prototype. Finally, we reach in to the mailbag and help a listener decide what to do with cars for himself and his kids in this week's Spend My Money segment. Looking back at the Citation IV concept that likely shaped the GM EV1
Wed, Aug 20 2014Those who forget history are condemned to repeat it. We're not sure how that applies to the GM EV1, but we'd still like to share something from Autoline Daily, an online automotive new show with our friend John McElroy. He's been covering the business for decades now and recently found something interesting: pictures of the 1984 Chevrolet Citation IV concept, seen above. Displayed half a decade before the first electric concept that would become the EV1 (inset), McElroy says it's now clear that the elegant, aerodynamic EV1 took a lot of styling cues from the Citation IV, which was developed in part thanks to GM's new-at-the-time Aerodynamics Laboratory. We agree with him that the spats over the rear wheels, the flush glass, and the covered headlights all bear a certain kind of similarity between the two cars. That the colors almost match is a nice coincidence. The Impact (the concept version of the EV1) looked "frumpier," McElroy says, because it wasn't as long as the Citation. You can read a lot more about the Citation IV here and check out McElroy's thoughts in the video below. Find the Citation starting at around 3:45. This content is hosted by a third party.
