Vehicle came out of New York. Previous owner has had this car for over 12 years and has maintained and driven it on occasion, keeping it garaged throughout during the fall and winter when not in use. Tons of work was done to it, and it has A LOT OF OPTIONS as you read from the list above. Body was restored sometime in the early-mid 1990s with quality base/clear coat paint that has held up well. I believe the rear quarter panels were replaced at one point, as well as the hood and possibly the front fenders from what I was told, but not sure on those.

Under the hood lies a GM crate "Fast Burn 385" motor, which is basically a 350ci with factory 385hp. Motor itself has ZZ4 guts, along with GM Aluminum performance heads and TONS of other go-fast goodies such as ceramic coated headers, MSD ignition, MSD distributor and plug wires, BeCool aluminum radiator, Aluminum intake, Holley 750cfm double-pumper carburetor and lots more, added on top of the factory 385hp the engine produces right out of the box! It is as nice a street motor as you can buy, and it cost well over $8,000 new. It is mated to a Turbo Hydramatic transmission, with 10 bolt posi-traction rear end with sway bars.

Mechanically it fires right up and sounds great. Transmission is solid and shifts good through all the gears. Brakes have been checked and adjusted and stop well. Car feels great, handles the road nicely, sounds great and is very responsive with little if any play in the steering wheel.

Interior is all stock as you'll see in the pictures. Seats are in fairly good shape with some wear on the driver's seat but no large rips. Dash is very good. Door panels are nice. Carpet is older but still fairly presentable. Convertible top is in fairly good shape with no holes. Steering wheel has normal wear.  Overall a very presentable interior for a good driver.

Chrome is presentable throughout with some light pitting.
Excellent frame rails and trunk, with salt shakers still there. Rear shock towers are also very nice.

The old girl is NOT perfect by any means of course so please keep that in mind when bidding. Paint is overall VERY GOOD with NICE NICE shine but is older so it has some minor chips, touch-ups, couple of tiny dents here and there and other small imperfections from age and use. Transmission has a manual valve body so you can shift it as you drive. Underside has had some patching on floorboards and inner rockers and although looks ok and is solid throughout, it should have been done properly with new panels. Both doors sag a little and could use hinge adjustments or new hinges. Perhaps a light or two not working here and there. Console gauges work but not 100% accurate.

I am sure there are several other things I am forgetting at the moment, so overall she is not perfect and to do it justice should be gently restored to your liking, or you can just drive it as is. Please note, I cannot remember every single issue with the car, nor do I know everything wrong with it, as it is after all over 45 years old so keep that in mind.

If you just want a GOOD LOOKING AND SUPER FUN DRIVER that runs/drives good, then this is the car for you. If you want a concourse correct show car, it will need a considerable amount of restoration to bring it up to that level of course. I ENCOURAGE ANYONE BIDDING OR SERIOUSLY INTERESTED TO COME LOOK AT IT IN PERSON. I WILL BE GLAD TO SHOW IT TO YOU TOP TO BOTTOM SO YOU KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOU'RE GETTING INTO.

GM to restore legendary Corvette damaged in sinkhole accident

Fri, Dec 5 2014

Car lover's hearts' sank when they saw images of bent and destroyed classic Corvettes at the bottom of a sinkhole last February after the floor of the National Corvette Museum gave way. General Motors announced Wednesday it would restore the one millionth Corvette ever produced to its former glory. The 1992 convertible was heavily damaged when a 40-foot deep sinkhole opened beneath a bevy of rare cars at the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Since then, GM has been slowly restoring the classic cars, though five of the eight that caught in the sinkhole were determined to be too damaged to repair. This November, the 2009 Corvette ZR1 Blue Devil was the first car to be returned in mint condition to the Museum, according to Autoblog. It suffered significant damage but was still drivable after being pulled out of the debris. The one millionth Corvette is still in bad shape. The automaker is estimating six months worth of work to restore the car, which sustained paint scratches, rear-suspension damage and a mangled front fender. Chevy shows much-improved 2014 Corvette interior in new video

Mon, 11 Feb 2013

If you want a closer look at what went into designing and building the interior for the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette, we've got just the thing. General Motors has released a new video detailing the cabin's evolution from conception to execution, complete with commentary from Ryan Vaughn, performance car interior design manager with Chevrolet. The quick clip details how manufacturing, engineering and design within General Motors worked together from the first sketches to ensure no compromises had to be made later down the line. How novel.
With plenty of hides traced with contrast stitching and available real carbon fiber trim, the cabin looks to be a few hundred miles ahead of the C6. Given how readily critics derided the previous generation for its cabin, the C7 should make writers work a little harder to find something to complain about. Check out the video below for yourself.

GM CEO to meet with U.S. lawmakers over job cuts

Fri, Nov 30 2018

WASHINGTON — General Motors Co Chief Executive Mary Barra plans to visit Capitol Hill next week to discuss the company's plans to halt production at five plants in North America next year and cut up to 15,000 jobs, two congressional aides said on Friday. GM has come under harsh criticism from lawmakers from both major political parties, and from President Donald Trump, since Monday when it announced the biggest restructuring for the U.S. No. 1 carmaker since its bankruptcy a decade ago. Barra is expected to meet with lawmakers from Michigan and Ohio, where GM plans to shutter three plants, as well as senior leaders in Congress. GM did not immediately comment. Barra has been calling lawmakers this week to explain the decision to end production. Trump has threatened to revoke subsidies for GM. The Detroit automaker plans to halt production next year at three assembly plants: the Lordstown small-car factory near Youngstown, Ohio; the Detroit-Hamtramck complex in Detroit; and the Oshawa, Ontario, assembly complex near Toronto. It will also stop building several models now assembled at those plants, including the Chevrolet Cruze, the Chevrolet Volt hybrid, the Cadillac CT6 and the Buick LaCrosse. Additionally, GM plans to shutter the Warren transmission plant outside Detroit and a plant that makes electric motors and drivetrains outside Baltimore, Maryland. The Cruze compact car will be discontinued in the U.S. market in 2019, although GM may continue building it in Mexico for other markets, Barra said. Reporting by David Shepardson. Related Video:
