Okay guys and gals here is the one everybody wants. I will fix the pictures as soon as I figure it out. Sorry for the being upside down Up for auction is a 1971 Chevrolet C-10 two wheel drive shortbed fleetside pickup. This truck was sold brand new in North Carolina and has always been right here in the Carolinas. This C-10 has NEVER been used as a truck and the bed sides and bed floor have virtually no dents and never has seen any rust. In fact you will only find some minor surface rust here and there. Infact, if buffed up the paint looks pretty good. The worst spot is under the rear glass on the left side but it is minor! The cab above the windshield is rust free! I challenge you to find a better C-10 that has not been restored. She was originally built with five bolt wheels, power disc brakes and power steering. The suspension is still the way GM built her. She has not been lowered or modified in any way. In fact she has trailering equipment although I have never pulled anything with her but she could no doubt. This C-10 shortbed also has a very nice snap fit cover over the bed which was installed on an aluminum frame with no holes in the bed. This C-10 has a rebuilt 454 residing between the fenders. She has an upgraded camshaft with some work done on the heads. She doesn't leak a drop of oil . She also has a 750 double pumper Holley on an aluminum intake. There is a lot of horsepower and torque available but she is calm enough in traffic you might never notice till you pushed the accelerator down. The transmission was also rebuilt at the same time the engine was installed. A shift kit makes the transmission shift a bit more firmly. It is the original transmission to the truck. Now for all you numbers matching guys I still have the original 350 engine and will include it in this sale as long as the truck meets my reserve. Yes there is a reserve. I know what I have here. If the truck does not meet my reserve I will install air conditioning and keep her and that is fine with me. But if you are looking for a good, rust free, southern truck with all the right options then this might be your ticket. I urge people local to me to come by and check her out but no tire kickers or thrill seekers. She is fast and I want her to stay in one piece so your time with her will be limited. This is one serious, kick butt truck that never fails to put a smile on my face every time I drive her. You could not help but be happy buying this one. I am so confident in that statement that if you do not like the truck after you come to pick her up I will gladly refund everything but the deposit but remember the truck is sold as-is. Once you or your transporter leaves she is yours. I will send plenty more pictures if desire Now as far as the auction goes, I will not reveal my reserve price nor will I end the auction early so don't ask. Also if you have less than a +5 feedback I WILL delete your bid unless you email me first. I know you have to start somewhere and I can work with you but please email me first. I ask for a $500 nonrefundable deposit within 48 hours after the end of the auction. Buyer is responsible for all transportation but I am available most anytime. If you have any questions please call Don at (864) 706-7990. Thanks for viewing my auction!

First privately owned Corvette Stingray blitzes 1/4 mile in 12.23 at 114.88 mph
Tue, 01 Oct 2013Chevrolet's latest road rocket, the Corvette Stingray, is a very quick car. If one needs further proof of that, we recommend they take a look at this video from Hennessey of what is claimed to be the first privately owned C7 Corvette to make a pass down the quarter mile. Not just any quarter mile, mind, this black C7 blitzed its way down the tuner's primary testing dragstrip. The Chevrolet ran the quarter in just 12.23 seconds at 114.88 miles per hour. That is a very quick time for a stock car.
Equipped with the Z51 package and a six-speed automatic transmission, not only does the C7 run a solid time, but it does so with little to no drama. That won't last though, as Hennessey will likely return it to its owner with far more power - we just hope they show a drag run of the completed product. Take a look below to watch the C7's 12.23-second run on video.
First 2015 Chevy Corvette Z06 engine blows up at just 891 miles
Thu, Jan 1 2015You've waited and watched and waited some more for the arrival of your 650-horsepower, $78,000 Chevrolet Corvette Z06. Finally, that joyous day arrives and you eagerly, but gingerly, begin to break-in the 6.2-liter supercharged V8 monster under your hood. Then 900-odd miles after delivery, your excitement grinds, quite literally, to a halt. That's what the owner of one 2015 Z06 claimed happened to him when a simple break-in drive resulted in a lunched engine. The owner, known as Lawdogg149 on Corvette Forum, says he was out breaking-in his car ahead of a January track event when it happened. "While making a pull from 35 miles per hour, I accelerated and shifted short of redline, and boom - the car began knocking. I pulled over and popped the hood. I could hear a loud knock coming from the No. 6 cylinder area along with a serious, grinding, metal-on-metal sound coming from the supercharger area," Lawdogg wrote. A subsequent trip to the dealer confirmed his concerns, with the service facility telling Lawdogg that the No. 6 valvetrain had failed. The dealer couldn't research the issue further, though, as General Motors requested the engine be returned for a more thorough evaluation. The good news for the Z06's unlucky owner, at least, is that GM will be covering the engine replacement under warranty, an expense that Corvette Forum estimates is a nearly $24,000 procedure. At this point, the two leading theories behind the engine's detonation involve a manufacturing defect – which could be why GM is so keen to tear the blown powerplant down – or a mistake on the part of Lawdogg. As Motor Authority points out, such an error could be something as simple as the Z06's owner accidentally shifting to first rather than third during his 35-mph pull. If, however, there's a deeper manufacturing problem with the Z06's engine, this might not be the only case we end up hearing about.
A hybrid and electric Corvette, plus we drive the Ioniq 5 | Autoblog Podcast #728
Fri, May 6 2022In this episode of the Autoblog Podcast, Editor-in-Chief Greg Migliore is joined by Road Test Editor Zac Palmer. Zac drove the electric 2022 Hyundai Ioniq 5, and Greg drove the fire-breathing 2022 Maserati Levante Trofeo. The two dive deep into the relatively heavy news week by starting off with a discussion about the upcoming hybrid Corvette before chatting about what the electric Corvette might be like. They have a chat about the possibility of Porsche and Audi officially joining the Formula 1 field. Then, Greg and Zac get into some quick-hitting news to round out the segment by dissecting the updated Kia Soul (now without a turbo), the 30th Anniversary Edition Land Rover Defender and the new CEO at Aston Martin. Following the news and drive reviews, they rope in Senior Editor, Green John Beltz Snyder to give them a quick download of what went down at the first drive for the 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning. Finally, they reach into the mailbag and answer some questions from someone who is less than pleased about infotainment systems in some new cars. And lastly, the gang hears back from someone they helped out in a prior Spend My Money segment on the podcast. Send us your questions for the Mailbag and Spend My Money at: Podcast@Autoblog.com.
