You are looking at one of the coolest 1985 Chevy trucks out there.  I bought this truck back in the summer from a friend of mine, he had the 454 placed in it as well as the transmission (not sure which it is) and the A/C.  I took the truck home and parked it in the garage.  After I drove it a few times I decided to make use of an old 2004 Saturn Vue I had laying with a bad trans, so I gutted the interior and took the front buckets from the vue and the console and had them redone in black leather/suede with the blue diamond stitching, I had the headrests embroidered with 454.  I even had the original seat belts switched over and retro-fitted them to the truck.  The interior is truly amazing, I replaced the steering wheel and now the truck is as comfortable to drive as you could ask for.  I put a new exhaust on the truck, not extremely loud, but gives you enough rumble to know that you have some HP at your disposal.  The A/C blows ice cold and the original radio works, this truck does have tilt wheel which is very handy.  The previous owner had put in the headliner you see with speakers and an aftermarket radio, its a very cool idea but I could never get the radio to work correctly so I just use the original.  The tires on this truck are in great shape, as are the wheels.  The truck uses no oil and runs awesome.  I replaced the starter just a month or so ago.  I would jump in this truck and take it anywhere I wanted with no hesitation.  I also replaced the radiator with a much larger radiator.  The truck is a 2wd short wheel base.

I do have the title in hand and it does show a previously rebuilt and true mileage unknown.  The mileage part is pretty standard in KY at least, after 10 years the state recognizes all vehicles of having potentially unknown mileage.  The odometer shows 67K but I have honestly no way of knowing if that is correct or not.  I bought the truck knowing these things, and to me they are irrelevant when you get to these year models and types of vehicles.  I know the previous owner had this truck apart anyway replacing every nut and bolt so I had no concerns.

I don't absolutely have to sell the truck so please don't compare this truck to the one in your neighbor's yard and think I am going to let mine go for what you can buy an old rust bucket for.  This truck really needs to be seen to appreciate the work and detail that has been put in it.  This truck with a little bit more detail on things like interior trims, dash and small things like that would be by far the sharpest one in the country.  It is very classic and tasteful while still having enough comfort to make it a driver.  If you have any questions feel free to call me and I will answer anything I can for you.  If you are close enough to come take a look at it you are more than welcome to come by and drive it.  I am a car dealer but this truck was one out of my personal cars.  I love to hear offers that are within reason and I will consider trading on just about anything.  I do reserve the right to end this listing at anytime due to the truck being for sale locally as well.
Thanks and HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Artist imagines eerie world where cars have no wheels

Thu, 24 Jan 2013

The wheel ranks right up there with the telescope and four-slice toaster in the pantheon of inventions that have moved humankind forward. But what if a circle in three dimensions had never occurred to anyone, and we all had just moved on without it? Perhaps we'd be driving around in Lucas Motors Landspeeders with anti-gravity engines. Or maybe we'd have the same cars we do today, just without wheels.
That's the thought experiment that seems to have led French photographer Renaud Marion to create his six-image series called Air Drive. The shots depict cars throughout many eras of motoring that look normal except for one thing: they have no wheels. The models used include a Jaguar XK120, Cadillac DeVille (shown above), Chevrolet El Camino and Camaro, and Mercedes-Benz SL and 300 roadsters.
Perhaps one day when our future becomes our past, you'll be able to walk the street and see with your own eyes the rust and patina of age on our nation's fleet of floating cars. Until then, Monsieur Marion's photographs will have to do.

Chevrolet Captiva looks mildly refreshed and ready for family duty

Tue, 05 Mar 2013

We showed you Chevrolet's major debut yesterday, the 2014 Corvette Stingray Convertible, but General Motors is making a big push for Bowtie consideration in Europe, so it's also introducing the updated Captiva crossover here at the Geneva Motor Show.
While still based on the same platform as North America's fleet-only Captiva Sport (which is effectively a rebadged Saturn Vue), the Captiva is available in both five- and seven-seat iterations, and it looks far more modern. That's particularly the case with this updated model, which features revamped front- and rear ends that include restyled bumpers, grilles and LED taillamps, among other changes.
As before, the midsize Theta-platform CUV will be available in both front- and all-wheel drive, and is expected to carry a range of four- and six-cylinder gasoline and diesel engines. Important US programming note: Chevrolet sources tell us that America's Captiva Sport will not receive these updates.

2020 Chevy Tahoe High Country spied along with next-gen Escalade

Fri, Jun 7 2019

Have no fear, the big grilles are here. Or, at least we think they're coming. One of our spy shooters caught the next-gen Chevrolet Tahoe and Cadillac Escalade out testing with more of their fronts ends exposed than before. Starting with the Tahoe, we can see what amounts to a blinding amount of chrome under the wrappings. We're guessing this would be a new Tahoe High Country trim level, mirroring the range-topping trim level currently offered on the Silverado and Traverse. The Tahoe's current range topper is the Premier. Although the rather ornate details in the grille are not found on the current High Country trims, they also seem like something that would be available on the priciest Tahoe available. The same could be said of the LED lighting details visible under the camo as the Silverado High Country, shown below, does indeed have unique LED elements. The next-generation Cadillac Escalade only shows up in two of the photos. As we can't see shiny chrome reflecting through the camo, we're guessing the Escalade will adopt a blacked out grille similar those found on the XT6 and other Cadillacs. We can also see horizontal lighting elements similar to those on other recent Cadillacs. As this is an Escalade, however, we'd imagine everything will be supersized. GM will be ushering these trucks out soon, with the independent rear suspension being the big story. Besides the improved ride and handling, it should result in substantially improved cargo space and third-row legroom. Doing so would at least close the gap with the biggest Lincoln and Ford SUVs.
