The only thing left to do is what a new owner wants to do ! Pic out wheels and tires and a system to make this YOUR BADASS 68' !!! These 67-72 trucks are sought after for an obvious reason they are the coolest designed trucks ever (muscle trucks). And the only thing that makes one better then another is color combo and IMO this truck has the best colors Chevrolet made ! This truck is a REAL black and red 68' that I have spent 2 years restoring as my personal truck but a new business venture makes me sell her, it is finally done I've put about 30 miles on this truck and it is ready for a new owner to show her off. I will describe all the work from the top down.......

The body of this truck was in better then average shape, but being a black one means being diligent with making it strait so a lot of hours went into the body work. It was sprayed with epoxy through the whole process and came out really nice.

The paint we used in our opinion is the best, Diamont R-M D-403 Black for the base coat and Diamont R-M 5335 Clear to make it shine, (THIS IS SHOW QUALITY PAINT)......... The paint was sprayed by one of the best painters around so there's no tiger stripes anywhere and 3 coats of clear that's been color sanded and polished, NO ORANGE PEEL. The paint and body work came out to look Badass. And every piece of trim is new !

The interior is ALL NEW and redone back to original this is the original seat and steering wheel in great shape just recovered the seat. Everything that is red is new, all door rubbers are new with felts, windshield is new and yes it has wipers but I keep them under the seat there very easy to take off and put on, I think it looks better without. I also added a tilt column from a 72' van so it has the shorter shifter and aftermarket linkages that work great. From the drivers seat looking out over that shiny black hood with the wheel in your lap and your arm on the door is something everyone should experience!!!!

The motor is all new, its a 010 4 bolt block that's 30 over making it a 355 it has TBI heads with a 600cfm eddy carb and a cam to match. This motor was built for daily driving with MPG's in mind, but it was also built for torque and will surprise you with how strong it runs rated at 285hp and 340ftlbs it will wag its tail going into 2nd gear. The exhaust is 2 1/2" dumped at the rearend with a very unique sound that's not loud coming from mufflers of a 2003 mustang gt, I was looking for something different then what you always hear from flowmaster or dynomax and all the other cooky cutter mufflers this truck is quite when you want and can get loud when you want, very cool sound.

The transmission is a fresh 400 with a 2000 factory high stall converter with a mild shift kit and 373 gear ratio, this combination works very good.

5 lug conversion has been done so you get power disc brakes all new, the braking power is impressive. You also get power steering that's new and works effortlessly. The truck has been lowered 3" up front and 4" in the rear for a nice low truck stance, if you want it lower its easy with lowering blocks in the back.

The chassis and components were sand blasted, primed and then sprayed with POR-15 chassis paint, so the underneath of this truck looks good. All parts underneath from uppers and lowers to shocks, cab mounts, wheel bearings and everything in between is new. This truck is tight and solid with NO rattles, and will actually handle corners impressively !

The bed floor isn't perfect I planned on using the bed so I sprayed it with POR-15, it didn't bother me but you can put in a mat or rhino line.

We all know what this truck would look like with wheels ! but everybody has different taste and some of us know you can ruin a vehicle by choosing the wrong wheels, happens all the time LOL. So I left the personal touch and easiest part up to the new owner, there's many different wheels that would work with this truck from 20s to wide whites or even a black steel wheel with red line tires, its up to you have fun. I also know some guys think they have 30k trucks that are a joke, especially on ebay. I don't live in a fantasy but I did build a sweet ride and built it right, no telling what some of these other guys would want for this truck but I have it priced to sell so taking in count for the wheels and tires,                       THE RESERVE ON THIS TRUCK IS WELL BELOW 20K!!!!! Good Luck.. It is for sale locally also. Call for any questions 405-204-0058

See the new COPO Camaro's awesomeness from many angles

Sun, Feb 7 2016

Considering that the COPO Camaro exists solely to drag race, the action you'll see in this video comes as little surprise. Still, Chevrolet Performance wants to prove that the 2016 model, which uses on the sixth-gen body, is just as adept launching down the strip as previous COPOs. This example may still be testing, but its 427-cubic-inch V8 performs like a champ. The engine's raw muscle, at least when coupled with suitably wide and sticky tires, is enough to lift the front wheels when the driver puts the hammer down off the line. This video from Chevy Performance shows off all the drag-strip action from several unexpected angles. You can watch the rear axle at work and even see the engine under the hood during the run. Our personal favorite is the shot of the launch from underneath the car – it's a perspective you never usually get to see. And, naturally, there are lots of great angles showcasing the car's massive burnout potential. The 2016 COPO Camaro debuted at SEMA in 2015. Buyers have a choice of three V8s, and all of them come with a three-speed automatic gearbox, solid rear axle, and adjustable suspension. Relish this opportunity to see the 2016 COPO Camaro at work, but remember, it's a rare beast. As in years past, Chevy plans to build just 69 of them. Over 5,500 people applied to get one in 2016, and the first example brought $300,000 for charity. Related Video:

GM's redesigned full-size 2021 SUVs face delay over coronavirus

Tue, Mar 31 2020

As General Motors works to conserve cash for the coronavirus pandemic, the automaker reportedly told suppliers that it is postponing development of several future vehicles. The situation may cause GM to delay the launch of the 2021 Cadillac Escalade, GMC Yukon, Chevrolet Tahoe and Chevrolet Suburban SUVs, which had been planned to roll out in April. The original launch plan for the redesigned full-size SUVs, which are some of the most profitable vehicles produced by GM, had called for production of the current models to end at its plant in Arlington, Texas, this week. After a retooling process, the redesigned SUVs were slated to begin production late in the month of April. In an email to suppliers viewed by Reuters and confirmed as authentic by GM, the automaker also said it was suspending development work on six future vehicle programs, including updates of the Chevrolet Equinox, GMC Terrain, Cadillac XT4, Bolt EV, Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra. GM said preproduction work on those programs would be pushed back to calendar year 2021, with most of the updated vehicles scheduled to be launched as 2022 models. According to the Detroit News, work has also been paused on the Chevy Camaro and a future version of the Corvette that has yet to be unveiled and wasn't planned for production during the 2020 calendar year. Last week, the automaker told employees and suppliers it was delaying work on some future vehicles while pushing ahead with near-term models such as its redesigned full-size SUVs and the GMC Hummer EV, Cadillac Lyriq, Chevrolet Bolt EUV and Cruise Origin, as well as its new Ultium battery system. A GM spokesman who spoke with Reuters reiterated on Monday what the automaker had said last week — that the situation with its U.S. plants was "fluid" and that the automaker would "continue to evaluate" whether and when to reopen those plants on a week-by-week basis, with "employee safety" guiding that decision. GM said previously that it was closing most of its U.S. plants indefinitely. In its Monday email, GM asked suppliers to stop work on all pre-production tooling and pre-production parts manufacturing, but also not to dispose of any tooling or materials. GM told Reuters it had solicited volunteers from its workforce to finish the build-out of the current SUVs on a single shift in Arlington.

Fullsize GM SUVs have a problem that's making owners sick

Thu, Dec 31 2015

Some fullsize SUV owners are getting sick, thanks to a buffeting and vibration problem in 2015 model year examples of the Chevy Tahoe and Suburban, Cadillac Escalade, and GMC Yukon. According to owners' complaints to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the issue can vary from an annoying vibration inside the cabin to an experience so severe that it leads to dizziness and headaches. General Motors is aware of the complaints, but the fix isn't so simple. According to spokesperson Tom Wilkinson to Autoblog, the company "has been tracking this issue for a while." The problem has a fairly low incidence rate, but when it does occur the issue can be "uncomfortable and annoying for owners." There's no precise cause for the issue, Wilkinson claims, and in some cases, simply balancing the tires or changing the door seals can make it go away. However, not all of the fixes are so simple. AutoGuide dug deep into the problem and discovered a GM preliminary information bulletin that advised dealers to remove the headliner and to check the roof's bonds to the bows that go across the vehicle. However, that document included a note that the solution might not entirely eliminate things. According to AutoGuide, adding Dynamat insulation to the roof sometimes helped the problem. A GM spokesperson also told AutoGuide the company fixed the problem at the end of the 2015 model year, and didn't go into any more detail. This roof issue seems linked to some of the worst droning in these SUVs. According to one complaint from a 2015 Suburban owner to NHTSA: "Roof will not remain attached to the roof bows. This causes the buffeting similar to a window being down when all are up. The results span from annoying to painful." A 2015 Yukon owner claims to have another alleged cause for the problem in a NHTSA complaint from February 2015. This person brought their SUV to the dealer seven times over the course of four weeks for vibrations. The dealer replaced the driveshaft, suspension components, and more, but nothing worked. According to an engineer to the service adviser: "In an effort to prevent roll overs, they designed the frame and body mounts too stiff. There are 40 engineers working on issues, they have no solutions that work across the board." Wilkinson told Autoblog that GM is working with customers on an individual basis to rectify things. Since these are newer vehicles, dealers should also fix the problem under warranty.
