1979 TWO TONE SOUTHERN K5 BLAZER

HIGHLY ORIGINAL

WELL MAINTAINED

THIS IS A FIRST TIME OFFERING A 1979 TWO TONE SOUTHERN K5 BLAZER. A real beauty! The odometer reads just 59,000 miles. It is a highly original truck and in better condition than most. The 350 engine is strong and it runs, drives, shifts and handles very well. It is top of the line, the Cheyenne model. It has new tires, Monroe shocks and real Flowmasters.

THIS 1979 K5 BLAZER EXTERIOR

In order for you to see how awesome this truck is running naked, I took the time to remove the top. You will find over 100 close up photos, many of them with the top off. Best described as Big. Bad. Bold. Beautiful. Even though its stance is highlighted, it is just as sharp with the top on.

The top itself is in good condition with all of the windows opening and closing properly. The back window operates properly. Also, it sits up nice and tall just like it should. The chrome bumpers are in great condition, as is the grill, headlights and tail lights are bright and shiny. The stainless steel bright work is in very good condition. All the seams are original, so are the rockers and cab corners. There are few scars, top to bottom. This is a quality vehicle. Please note: Not too often are you able to take photos of the underside of a 35-year-old vehicle without apology. There is no repair or rust here, never has been. It is completely solid and dry.

ENGINE

The engine and engine compartment are clean, tidy and detailed. Nothing is missing. The headers and the Flowmaster exhaust leave one in awe. The sound is powerful and sort of wicked, yet not too loud.....just a thunder rumble. There is no smoke, not even on start-up. It starts instantly and takes instant command. The front end, suspension and steering have no issues. It shifts quick and easy as the manufacturer intended.

INTERIOR

The entire interior is original and in very good condition. There is a nice fitting dash pad. This was a southern truck. All of the gauges are crystal clear. This is the Cheyenne model. Cheyennes have custom trim in camel, plus bright trim, color keyed carpeting, a color keyed console, full instrumentation and a custom steering wheel. Very sporty and so easy to look at. This is an air conditioned, tilt wheel truck adding to your comfort.

This is a solid investment. NADA states classic and/or vintage trucks are increasing in value quicker than any other vehicle. The Blazer is well priced. It is as shown. This is a 7 day auction ending on?

REMEMBER TO PLACE YOUR BID. This is a 7 day listing which will end WEDNESDAY, August 13 at 9 P M EDT!

Will Chevy Bolt get Opel badge in Europe?

Sat, Mar 7 2015

General Motors' European plug-in vehicle name may go from A to B. That's because the Chevrolet Bolt could be sold under GM's Opel brand across the Pond, Automotive News Europe says, citing people familiar with the process that it declined to identify. The Ampera, the European version of the Volt extended-range plug-in vehicle, is being phased out due to poor sales. While the Ampera won the European Car of the Year in 2012, its sales have trended well below expectations. That the Bolt would be sold as an Opel hints to us that GM expects to distribute the electric vehicle in far smaller numbers than in the US. The Bolt, which was introduced in January in its concept version at the North American Auto Show in Detroit, will have a single-charge range of about 200 miles. GM representatives didn't immediately respond to a request for comment from AutoblogGeen on Friday afternoon. The car will also have a price tag in the US of about $30,000, factoring in federal-government tax incentives. That's if those tax incentives are still around in 2017, when the Bolt is expected to debut stateside. Helicopter crashes on Top Gear Korea set while chasing Corvette ZR1

Mon, 11 Feb 2013

The formula of Top Gear Korea is seemingly about the same as it is everywhere else in the world, including the flagship British original: involve interesting cars in fantastical situations with charismatic hosts. That prescription has proved to be pretty reliable over the years, and has lead to some truly memorable and exciting pieces of television.
Something like that was undoubtedly what the Korean producers were after when they lined up this segment - a drag race between a Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 and an AH1 Cobra military helicopter. The planners almost certainly did not expect the filming of the segment to go quite as wrong as it actually did, with the helicopter actually crashing into the dirt after the "drag race" had been completed. Thankfully, we're told that no one was seriously injured in the crash, but the footage, in the video below, is pretty damn chilling to watch, nevertheless.

Chevrolet Silverado, GMC Sierra could get independent rear suspension

Fri, Jan 3 2020

The Chevrolet Silverado and the GMC Sierra could reportedly receive a variant of the four-link independent rear suspension found under the new Tahoe and Suburban. While that's not a surprise, a recent report suggests electrification, not comfort, convinced General Motors to make the change. Replacing the time-tested solid rear axle with an independent suspension will improve comfort, handling and off-road prowess, while adding weight, and likely making the trucks a little bit more expensive. It's a fair trade-off, but GM Authority learned the real reason for the swap is that at least one of the pickups will spawn an electric model, and it's more difficult to package a bulky battery pack around a solid rear axle. The independent rear suspension takes up far less space, even if it has more moving parts. General Motors will build its first regular-production electric pickup on an evolution of the Silverado's T1 platform named BT1, according to the same source. The b stands for -- you guessed it -- batteries. The firm reportedly doesn't want to make two suspensions for cost reasons, so the independent setup will come standard regardless of whether the truck runs on gasoline, diesel, or electricity. As a bonus, Chevrolet and GMC could choose to offer their T1-based trucks with Magnetic Ride Control or an air suspension, options available on the 2021 Suburban and Tahoe. The independent rear suspension will also find its way to the next-generation GMC Yukon due to be revealed January 14, and to the 2021 Cadillac Escalade scheduled to make its debut February 4. The long-rumored, born-again Hummer will get it, too, because it will arrive as an electric model built on the BT1 platform. It's worth noting none of this is official, and General Motors has remained quiet about what's next for its new suspension design, and what will be under its electric truck's sheet metal. If the GM Authority report is accurate, the Silverado (pictured) and the Sierra could ditch their solid rear axle for the 2021 model year. The change will likely be accompanied by other tweaks inside and out. Featured Gallery 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 View 16 Photos Chevrolet GMC Truck
