This car recently came from my 93 year old late great uncle's farm in southeast iowa. I hauled it to my shop and put a couple tires on it, got the hubs to turn. It steers and rolls for loading. It has a signed title from 1982 but the vin plate has been removed or fallen off the car<<<----INTERNATIONAL BUYERS LOOK!! The cowl tag is still in place. This car is 99.9% complete. The motor and transmission look original to the car but I havent been able to verify it. Didnt try turning the engine, probably locked up. The only things I noticed missing are the vin tag, radiator and the cheverolet scripts from the front fenders. The right rear tail light area has damage, pictured. The frame looks ok. The car is rigid, but there are a couple soft spots in the frame under the middle body mount on each side. The floor pans are gone, the quarters and front fenders are rotten, the upper half of the car seems pretty solid. The doors, windows, and hood function correctly, the windshield is the only broken glass. FULL interior still in the car, radio delete. Vehicle is sold AS-IS where is. This auction can be cancelled at any time. Buyer is responsible for all shipping concerns. Full payment is due within 5 days of auction end by cash in person or transfer. No returns or refunds. A $200.00 NON-REFUNDABLE deposit is due through paypal within 24 hours of auction end. The car needs picked up within 7 days or it gets resold. Thanks for looking. On Apr-20-14 at 08:30:59 PDT, seller added the following information: For some reason 12 of the 24 pictures I uploaded didnt show up the first day of the auction, but they are there now. |

GM profits threatened by glut of pickups
Wed, 05 Dec 2012Automotive News reports that General Motors may slash production or ramp up discounts in order to deal with an oversupply of pickup trucks. GM currently has more than double the standard supply of pickups, and the vehicles are threatening to dampen the automaker's profits for 2013. Typically, automakers try to sustain a 60- to 75-day supply of vehicles, but GM is currently loaded with a 139-day supply, as of last month. At the end of November, the automaker was sitting on 245,853 units.
The manufacturer says that it will adjust production accordingly before laying any incentives on the profitable pickups. Even so, there's some concern that the inventory swell could hurt the roll-out of the next-generation Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra. GM actually began slowly stepping back production in August, but it's clear the company will take further action as it heads toward the end of the year and into the next. Analysts predict the automaker could reduce pickup manufacturing by nearly half in the first quarter of 2013.
That still may not be enough to keep GM from laying extra cash on the Silverado and GMC Sierra. While the company's incentive spending was down in November compared to the same month in 2011, both the Ram 1500 and Ford F-150 saw double-digit percentage increases in sales last month while the Silverado and Sierra numbers slid compared to a year prior. Incentive spending could help move more trucks and add some balance to the GM inventory surge.
GM slashes prices in China as sales falter
Thu, May 14 2015Buying a vehicle from General Motors' stable of brands might be a lot cheaper in the near future – at least for customers in China. The effort comes as GM hopes to keep sales there growing, and the decision alludes to yet another sign that the Asian country no longer has the booming auto market of past years. GM and its Chinese joint venture partner SAIC are slashing prices by as much as the equivalent to $8,700 on 40 models from Buick, Chevrolet, and Cadillac, according to The Detroit News. Across all of automaker's nameplates, the overall sales dipped in China in April by 0.4 percent to 258,484 vehicles. Among the drops, Buick was down 8.5 percent, and Chevy shrunk 5.6 percent. Caddy's numbers increased 4.6 percent for the month, though. Buick remains a popular brand in the minds of Chinese consumers, but according to The Detroit News domestic automakers there are starting to eat into the dominance of foreign companies in the market. The country remains important for GM, though. Late last year, it outlined a future strategy that included China as a major pillar, including a $14 billion investment to build five new factories and boost sales. Refreshed 2014 Camaro confirmed for New York debut
Thu, 07 Mar 2013We've already seen leaked specs and potential spy shots, but the refreshed 2014 Chevrolet Camaro will make its official debut at the New York Auto Show in a few weeks.
Besides a tweaked exterior and the possibility of a high-output LS7 under the hood, we really don't know much else about the 2014 Camaro, but here's hoping for an improved interior, too.
In addition to the refreshed Camaro, Chevrolet will also be showing off the recently introduced Chevrolet SS, making its debut on the auto show circuit, and we'll also get our first look at the C7 Corvette coupe and convertible side-by-side.
