Cool 1963 Cadillac Fleetwood Convertible Parade Car Up For Auction With NO RESERVE 91k, 390 V8. Options include power windows, power steering, power brakes, power bench seat and "Autotronic Eye". It's the Fleetwood model with extra chrome and body accents, it's a cool Caddy cruiser. Mechanical: Replaced the power steering pump, new muffler and pipes, new radiator (sent out and recored), new valve cover gaskets, installed a new generator, new battery, new belts and hoses and a full tuneup. I will include extra parts, including a new brake booster and an additional set of door panels. The glass was removed from the doors when the roof was done: I will include the complete set of windows; all in good shape with no cracks as well as the brackets and lift arms. The transmission has developed a slight drip recently, I haven't looked into it, I just add fluid when necessary. The linkage for the tranny needs to be adjusted, reverse is all the way to the right, at times the shifter needs to move into reverse a couple of times before it engages. The power seat stopped working last summer, I'm not sure if it's the switch or the seat motor. The engine appears to be rebuilt at some point, no noises from anywhere, even when starting her up after sitting for a month or two and the engine compartment has been repainted. Cosmetic: the Caddy got new paint in 2005, no bodywork was necessary. The roof was removed with the edges upholstered in padded vinyl. People think it's a real convertible. To be clear, the Caddy has NO ROOF. The conversion to a parade car was done with extra steel welded onto the frame. The body has no flexing at all, even with a full car. The doors close easily and line up perfectly, no slamming necessary. The driver's floor had a small square of metal installed, the rest of the floor pans and trunk are original and solid. The previous owner spent close to $4000 on the paint job and customization alone. I had a boat shop quote me $750 to fabricate an aluminum and canvas removable top. They were going to use white heavy duty marine vinyl and a lightweight aluminum frame mounted with bolts at each corner. The seats were reupholstered at the same time the paint was done. The original radio still works through the dash as does the power antenna. A modern radio is mounted under the dash, with 6x9 speakers on the rear deck as seen in the pix, nice for highway cruising. The chrome and brightwork is in pretty good original condition, no pitting, the bumpers shine nicely. The rear bumper has one small dent near the center as seen in the pix. The paint could use a good compounding, it's gotten a bit dull. I had the door panels redone in pink and black, they look great. The dash has no cracks and shines up well. I have the original windshield wiper arms and metal wiper blade holders in the trunk, I took them off for a cleaner look. It's been in a couple of movies. I recommend registering the car with your local Movie Car company; it's hard to find early 60's convertible Caddies whose owners are willing to have cameras strapped to the hood and doors and this one looks really cool on film. All the directional/brake/turn signal/headlights work, even the cool fender indicators. Cruises nicely on the highway, holds the road perfectly, 325 HP 390 V8 moves this big girl easily up the highway with LOTS of power. The Caddy tracks straight and brakes evenly, no pulling or fading. She idles perfectly and the suspension is cushy, it handles well for such a long car. I
reserve the right to end the auction early as the Caddy is for sale
locally and I'm open to reasonable buy it now offers as well. I can
assist with shipping in the USA or internationally if necessary, cost of
shipping to paid by buyer. I can recommend a good door to
door auto shipper if you need it. Nice custom Caddy which is as much fun to drive as to look at! Be prepared for waves and honking. Any questions feel free to email or call 914-224-3230

11 vehicles from Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas worth watching
Fri, 26 Sep 2014This weekend will see the world's collector car crowds descend on Las Vegas, NV for one of the biggest shows on Barrett-Jackson's popular auction circuit. There are hundreds of vehicles up for bidding, ranging from a brand-new Lamborghini Aventador to a spattering of Art Deco classics and a huge swath of classic muscle cars.
While it's virtually impossible to assemble an inarguable list of the best cars coming during the three-day, 700-plus vehicle auction, we've sifted through the listings for this year's show - it was a tough assignment, we promise - and assembled a list of what we think will be some of the most interesting lots. We'll admit, it's a bit heavy on American iron, but if you browse BJ's listings, you'll come to a similar conclusion. Still, scroll down for our list of what we think will be the most interesting vehicles at the upcoming auction.
Book by Cadillac is like a streaming service for cars
Thu, Jan 5 2017Cadillac is launching a subscription-based service that gives users access to most of its models for a flat fee of $1,500 a month. Called Book by Cadillac, the program starts in February in New York City and its surrounding areas. Cadillac's goal: attract users who want flexibility without the costs and commitment of ownership. The monthly fee is steep, but Cadillac argues it's competitive with the cost of leasing a well-equipped luxury car. It also includes maintenance, taxes, and insurance fees. The Book service can also be stopped at any time, which frees users from any payments. There's no restrictions on mileage, though users pay for gas either by filling up the car when they're done with it or through a Caddy concierge who bills their account. Cadillac will deliver and pick up the vehicles from the user's choice of location via a white-gloved driver. Users can change vehicles up to 18 times per year, and they can be reserved with a mobile app. The theoretical goal is a Book user could head to the airport in New York in a Cadillac and reserve another one for their use in Los Angeles. Cadillac ran a test program last year and decided to move forward with Book after receiving a positive response on the price and features. "The overwhelming result is this is something competitive," spokesman Eneuri Acosta said. The program features the Escalade, Escalade ESV, CT6, CTS-V, ATS-V, and XT5 decked-out in Platinum trim. Other vehicles, like the non-V-series ATS or CTS could be added if there's demand. Book by Cadillac starts in New York, but will expand to other unspecified markets. Related Video:
Cadillac picks Publicis as new agency of record, continues cutting ties with Campbell Ewald
Fri, Dec 5 2014Cadillac is setting itself up for major changes in the coming years with its decision to hire Johan de Nysschen as the brand's new boss and moving some of the staff to new digs in the trendy SoHo neighborhood of Manhattan. With those two big shifts in place, there's one more on the way with the company's announcement that Publicis Worldwide is now its global creative agency of record, effective immediately. The firm replaces former, long-time General Motors associate Campbell-Ewald; now a portion of Lowe and Partners. "This appointment is designed to accelerate the global expansion and elevation of Cadillac into a truly global luxury brand," said Cadillac Chief Marketing Officer Uwe Ellinghaus in the company's announcement. "We have spent much of this year refocusing on the core values of our brand." Although, some work may remain at Lowe and Partners for now. According to Cadillac spokesperson David Caldwell via email to Autoblog: "The bulk of work makes this shift. It is possible that maybe a small individual smaller project or two might still be handled by Lowe. Not certain yet." The fruit of this new partnership shouldn't take long to mature, either. "We will have substantially new marketing and brand identity work in early 2015." said Caldwell. According to Ad Age, Cadillac's advertising had been handled by Lowe and Partners, Campbell-Ewald in Detroit (now entirely part of Lowe) and Hill Holiday. Caddy had a relationship with the agency since 2013 but has changed firms several times in 2006. GM had a long collaboration with Campbell-Ewald, though. Chevrolet was its partner for nearly a century until the automaker also jumped to Publicis in 2010. The firm was responsible for campaigns like, "The Heartbeat of America", "Like A Rock" and "An American Revolution." Scroll down to read Cadillac's full announcement of the change. Cadillac Appoints Publicis Worldwide 2014-12-04 DETROIT – Cadillac announced today the appointment of Publicis Worldwide as its global creative agency of record. Publicis Worldwide is the largest creative agency of the Publicis Groupe network and its appointment to Cadillac is effective immediately. A fully dedicated team, comprising key managers from Publicis Worldwide, will lead the account and have access to specialist and premium resources within the larger Publicis Groupe.
