1959 Cadillac Coupe Deville 2drht. Az Car. Great Body. Very Very Good Project. on 2040-cars
1959 Cadillac Coupe DeVille. Excellent project car. Previous owner had this car sitting in his backyard in the heart of downtown Phoenix for about 30 years. Last registered in Arizona in 1974. I was planning on making it a driver and doing the interior but don't have the time to focus on it. This Caddy has a great body. Very cool sun-burnt patina paint. The floors and trunk are super solid. There is some minor rust above the fender skirts, the very lower right qt in front of the rear bumper and signs of possible older repair on the lower front fenders. Overall there is very very little rust repair to do on this Arizona car. The chrome is very good original. The bumpers are straight and rust free (including the bumper ends). The trim is complete and in good condition. I don't believe it is missing any trim or chrome. The hood is sitting loose on the car, but the hood hinges are there. The tires are brand new. Power windows, power seat, AC, etc. The interior is completely shot from the brutal Arizona sun. The dash is disassembled but is complete. The windshield and windshield gasket are new. All other glass is good except a crack in the passenger side door glass. The trunk is full of parts including; radiator, ac condensor, starter, generator, trim, buckets of hardware, etc. The engine and trans are missing but I have a 390 and tranny available that were removed from a running 1962 DeVille for an extra price. I work for a restoration shop and can have the car worked on before being picked up if desired by the new owner (make running and driving, brakes, interior, paint, etc). We ship containers with cars and parts from our shop in Phoenix headed to Sweden every month so I can arrange shipping to Scandinavia easily. It is rare to find a '59 Cadillac coupe in this condition any more. This is a great car to restore, or if you have a rusted convertible they don't get much better for parts. Please email with questions. A deposit of $1000 is due within 48 hours of the close of auction. The remaining balance is due within 10 days. The car is advertised for sale so the auction may end early (I will not close the auction if the reserve is met). |

Daily Driver: 2016 Cadillac ATS-V Sedan
Tue, Oct 13 2015Daily Driver videos are micro-reviews of vehicles in the Autoblog press fleet, reviewed by the staffers that drive them every day. Today's Daily Driver features the 2016 Cadillac ATS-V sedan, reviewed by David Gluckman. You can watch the video above or read a transcript below. And don't forget to watch more Autoblog videos at /videos. Show full video transcript text [00:00:00] Hey, it's David Gluckman with another Daily Driver. Today I'm driving a 2016 Cadillac ATS-V. This is the sedan model and it has the optional eight-speed automatic transmission. The ATS-V is the small performance car in Cadillac's lineup. It sits below the CTS-V, which is also new for 2016. Ever since the base ATS came out a few years ago, this has always been a wonderful chassis in search of a great engine to compliment it. This car really changes that. [00:00:30] They've dialed up the chassis, the suspension is a little stiffer, the body is even stiffer, and they've put this really nice 3.6-liter twin-turbo V6 engine under the hood. In terms of power and torque, the new V6 outguns it's main bogey, the BMW M3 and M4. The Cadillac engine puts out 464 horsepower and 445 pound feet of torque, which is tons. [00:01:00] The one issue, though, is the way it delivers that power. It's not as smooth as the BMW and there's a bit of turbo lag that you really don't feel in the German engine. Once you get moving, however, this engine really just wakes up. There's no lag once you're at highway speed. You can floor it and there's plenty of power and torque for easy passes and runup to extra-legal speeds. [00:01:30] It's tons of fun there but around town it just kind of lacks a little bit of the smoothness and responsiveness that we're kind of expecting for a car in this class. The engine does sound pretty nice, though. It has this nice little growl when you start it up and when you get on it, it actually sounds more like a supercharged engine than a turbocharged one. It's a little strange, I think that's maybe some active noise cancellation that Cadillac is doing to cancel out the whooshes and whirs that we're used to from a turbocharger. [00:02:00] That's fine with me. Whatever it is, it sounds good. This car gets the same fancy rear limited-slip differential that the Corvette introduced a couple years ago. It does a really good job of keeping everything manageable. You almost can't tell that the car has 464 horsepower. It keeps everything in line.
2015 Cadillac ATS Coupe prepares to fight BMW 4 Series
Tue, 14 Jan 2014Cadillac introduced its new ATS Coupe at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show today, bringing customers an alternative to the growing range of sport luxury coupes typified by the BMW 4 Series, Audi A5 and Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe.
The ATS Coupe, as a slightly more premium offering, ditches the wheezy 2.5-liter engine found in the basic ATS Sedan, but retains the four-door's 2.0-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder and 3.6-liter V6. That four-pot turbo benefits from a fettling that has increased torque from 260 pound-feet to 295, although its peak is only available from 3,000 rpm to 4,600 rpm, unlike in the sedan, where peak twist arrives at just 1,700 rpm and sticks around until 5,500 rpm.
Power can be channeled to either the rear or all four wheels by the owner's choice of a Tremec six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission. According to Cadillac, the new Coupe can get to 60 in 5.6 seconds when fitted with the 2.0-liter turbo.
Cadillac planning more Vsport models
Wed, 28 Aug 2013There's a new intermediate class of luxury performance cars emerging. Audi has been doing it for years with its S-line bridging the gap, in many cases, between the standard fare and the full-on RS performance range. BMW's getting in on it with the M Sport line slotting in below the full M models. And now Cadillac is joining the fun with its Vsport offerings.
Models like the CTS Vsport and XTS Vsport are packing a new 3.6-liter twin-turbo V6 with 410 or more horsepower (along with bigger wheels and brakes) to slot in between the standard model and any impending V variant. Well, it appears Cadillac isn't about to stop there.
Speaking with The Detroit News, Cadillac product chief Hampden Tener revealed that, based on the response to the XTS Vsport, the brand is planning more Vsport models. He did not, however, indicate which would be the next to get the slightly sportier treatment. With the full ATS-V expected to pack a version of the same engine powering the aforementioned XTS and CTS Vsport models, an ATS Vsport would have to pack a smaller engine to fit in below. That only leaves the SRX crossover, Escalade SUV and the upcoming ELR hybrid. Food for thought.
