2002 Cadillac Escalade Ext 55,000 Original Miles, Clean Ca Title Orig. Owner on 2040-cars
Arcadia, California, United States
2002 Cadillac Escalade EXT. This car belonged to my father, who recently passed away. He was the original owner. It is from California and has a clean title. Registered until April 20, 2015. I will try my best to describe this vehicle in words, however I want you to inspect it before purchasing. I'm not sure if it's RWD or AWD so if you ask me to look for something that will let you know which one it is, I will be happy to do so.
The plusses. It has 55,000 original miles and runs and drives perfectly. Tires are in good shape. The ones in the front seem newer. The minuses. My father was a Ham Radio enthusiast and as a result, had antennas installed all around the vehicle. Some of the installation screws were mounted on the body and tonneau cover (see pics). I am not well versed in what kind of equipment was installed and was not able to get any of it to operate. There was an extra battery mounted inside the vehicle at one point which is no longer there. Cables have been insulated with electrical tape. I recall the air conditioning working when I first obtained the vehicle. Since then, I have not been able to get it to work. It has not been detailed in a while. The carpets are dirty. Seats are in good shape- a little wear on the driver side seat but not torn. Headliner is good. The cloth part that slides to expose the moonroof is a bit loose, but not bad. There is lettering on the back which can be easily removed. Apparently, some minor body work was performed on various places on the vehicle and I believe he painted this himself with a similar color but it was not professionally done. I am trying to describe this vehicle to a fault and would rather paint a bleaker picture of it than what it is. Actually, it looks better than I am describing it, but your opinion is the one that matters. Please ask any and all questions before bidding. The car is currently in Arcadia, CA (15 mi. NE of downtown Los Angeles). BUYER MUST PICK UP VEHICLE within 48 hours of auction end, as this is being stored in my friend's house. Thanks for looking. |

General Motors shaking up its marketing... again
Wed, 13 Mar 2013One of the things that dogs the full comeback of General Motors is the instability of its marketing. That part of the automaker got yet another big shakeup today when GM confirmed what I have been tweeting for a few days - strong rumors that the Chevrolet and Cadillac ad accounts are walking to new ad agencies.
Cadillac, GM's luxury brand, is going into review from Fallon Worldwide, Minneapolis and the indications are that Campbell-Ewald, Chevy's old ad shop, will end up with most or all of it. C-E just announced that it was moving from its long-time home in Warren, MI to a new downtown Detroit office next to Ford Field, just blocks from GM.
The other shoe to drop shortly will be the shift of GM's most important brand, Chevy, from Goodby, Silverstein & Partners of San Francisco to McCann-Erickson of Troy, MI. McCann used to be the agency for Buick and GMC, as well as GM's corporate advertising, and has retained some pieces of business over the last few years. Sources have even told us that it was McCann that did a lot of the creative work on Chevy's new ad platform, Find New Roads. (Not to be confused with a former McCann tagline for Saab, "Find Your Own Road.")
GM plans to sell the Chevy Tahoe and Cadillac Escalade in China
Fri, Nov 6 2020General Motors Co plans to sell full-size sport-utility vehicle (SUV) models in China for the first time, and will import a range of models to beef up its product lineup into the world's biggest car market, its China chief told Reuters. The plan would mark a change of tack for GM, which currently produces all of the vehicles it sells in China within the country, which is set to be the only major economy to grow this year amid the COVID-19 pandemic. GM, China's second-biggest foreign automaker, is aiming to offer four models as it looks to improve its brand image and support a sales recovery: Chevrolet's Tahoe and Suburban, Cadillac's Escalade and the GMC Yukon Denali. The Detroit-based company is showcasing those models at the China International Import Expo, or CIIE, an annual import show in Shanghai which started on Wednesday and runs into next week. "Our intention is to get customer reaction and find a way to sell these cars in China," said GM's China chief Julian Blissett. The automaker sees opportunities for such vehicles, partly because Chinese families are expanding, he added. "We are looking into a variety of market sales plans for these vehicles, including online sales, leasing and others," he said, declining to give a detailed timeframe for the plan. GM's Buick and Cadillac mid-size SUVs helped the group's Chinese sales grow 12% in the third quarter this year, the first quarterly growth in the past two years. But it does not have full-size SUV models, which usually have a third row of seats and has room for six or seven people. BATTLEGROUND China, where over 25 million vehicles were sold last year, is a crucial battleground for global automakers including Volkswagen AG, the biggest foreign player by sales volumes, GM and Toyota, as well as local leaders Geely and Great Wall. The country has seen auto sales pick up in recent months following a COVID-19-induced slump, and authorities say they have largely brought the epidemic under control following its emergence in the central city of Wuhan at the end of last year. The expansion plan would also mark GM's first official sales in China of GMC vehicles, a premium brand in the group. Previously GMC vehicles were only sold in the country via unofficial grey importers. The imports will, however, not change GM's basic production strategy in China. It will still mostly sell vehicles made in China - for now, at least. "Depending on however we go we might make other decisions," Blissett said.
Cadillac Escalade gets $5,000 discount to ward off Lincoln Navigator
Wed, Nov 8 2017General Motors apparently isn't going to let early good reception for the redesigned Lincoln Navigator steal thunder from its own luxury SUV without a fight. It's offering a $5,000 discount on the purchase or lease of the Cadillac Escalade this month to any buyer who trades in a 1999 or newer Lincoln model, Bloomberg reports. GM spokesman Jim Cain told Bloomberg the incentive is being offered to keep prices competitive for the Escalade. The 2018 Navigator starts at $72,055, compared to $73,995 for the Escalade, but the outgoing version of the Navigator is selling for an average of around $53,000, compared with more than $80,000 on average for the Escalade, he said. The Escalade was the top-selling domestic luxury SUV in October and No. 4 in the segment, according to Motor Intelligence. It far outsold the Navigator, which last saw a refresh in 2015 and a full redesign in 2007. But Ford is hoping to gain back some ground with the new Navigator and updated Expedition, which also trails the Chevrolet Tahoe and Chevy Suburban in its segment. Bloomberg notes that one Morgan Stanley analyst estimates that GM owns a $2 billion annual pretax profit edge in the lucrative luxury sport utility segment. Our recent First Drive review called the new Navigator "far superior to its primary competitor, the Cadillac Escalade."Related Video:
