Body is straight no dents newer paint job not show quality but looks good. Car has always been stored inside. Car has a newer blue convertible top in great shape. The top motors are weak and wont push the top all the way up. New motors on ebay are $200 or so. I drive it and store it with the top down so its not an issue for me. Inside it is unrestored but looks good for a 41 year old car the seats have no rips or tears, dash pad has two cracks in it. The door panels normal wear and tear but work fine. All the glass is in good condition. Power windows roll up & down the right rear window needs a little help now and then. Air Conditioning is all intact but doesn't work may need a charge? Has a minor exhaust leak @ left manifold, an easy fix at a muffler shop. Belts & hoses are older minor oil leaks as would be expected on a 41 year engine & trans."

Up for NO RESERVE auction is my baby blue Caddy drop top.  If you don't want attention this is not the car for you, people are always waving and giving the thumbs up when I drive this beauty around town. I can't pull in and get gas or park it somewhere with out someone complimenting the old girl. Certainly a crowd pleaser and if there isn't a crowd this gorgeous Cadillac draws one. One fun car, comfortable and smooth. It of course has the legendary Cadillac 500 cubic inch (8.2 Liter) engine rated at 400 horsepower and 550 foot pounds of torque!

It has a new brake master cylinder, brake calipers, brake pads, brake rotors and brake hoses. New front shocks, CV axles, lower ball joints, new front wheel bearing seals and wheel bearings re packed. New Front tires all within  50 miles! Oil and filter just changed. Needs a few little things here and there like any old car that has not been restored, but is a good driver that you can drive & enjoy as it is. Restored these are listed on ebay for $25,000 plus, great investment, its only going up in value the older it gets.

Cadillac ELR update delayed over autonomous drive systems issues

Fri, Nov 28 2014

Rumors had been circulating that the 2016 Cadillac ELR would bow in Los Angeles recently, featuring, in Cadillac's own words, "engineering enhancements." The rumors and that quote are as far as it got – the updated ELR pulled a no-show in LA, and no one outside of the brand appears to know when it will appear. GM Inside News says its sources at Cadillac pinned the ELR's absence on some autonomous driving features not being ready to reveal. According to GMI, Cadillac insiders say the upgraded ELR will be a "highly autonomous vehicle," and the company needs more time to gets its systems polished. The site says "it's not unreasonable to assume that ELR will be [the] vehicle" that gets Cadillac's Super Cruise technology, but that seems a lot more involved than "engineering enhancements," and in September Cadillac said we'd see it sometime in the next two years. It's possible the wait for the 2016 ELR and its secrets might only be a couple of months: the next-generation Chevrolet Volt, which shares a platform with the ELR and whose engineering updates we know quite a bit about, is scheduled to appear at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show in January.

Cadillac abandons plans for six-digit flagship sedan

Mon, 01 Jul 2013

So much for that party. Cadillac has announced that it is walking away from plans to build a high-dollar, rear-wheel-drive ultraluxury sedan. The low-volume model would have been based on the lusty Ciel Concept, and the production iteration would have carried a price tag well over $100,000. Executives with the automaker reportedly claim the model wouldn't have bolstered the brand enough to be worth the investment.
Even so, Automotive News reports Cadillac is still on track to build a range-topping four-door to go head-to-head with the BMW 7 Series and Mercedes-Benz S-Class. That model will likely be constructed on the company's upcoming Omega rear-wheel-drive platform, but we won't see it bow until at least 2016. Right now, the front-wheel-drive XTS sits at the top of the Cadillac lineup, and while that machine and it's twin-turbocharged V6 variant makes a compelling argument against certain luxury entries, it falls short serving as a legitimate competitor for the likes of the 7 Series and S-Class for enthusiast drivers.

Dealers mobilize to protect their margins from automaker subscription services

Fri, Aug 24 2018

Six individual auto brands — Lincoln, Cadillac, Porsche, Mercedes, BMW and Volvo — have established or are trialing a vehicle subscription service in the U.S. Three third-party companies — Flexdrive, Clutch and Carma — run brand-agnostic subscription services. And three automakers — Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and General Motors — have also launched short-term rental services. Dealers, afraid of how these trends might affect their margins, are building political and lawmaking campaigns to protect their revenue streams. So far, three states are investigating automaker subscriptions, and Indiana has banned any such service until next year. It's certain that those three states are the first fronts in a long political and legal battle. Powerful dealer franchise laws mandate the existence of dealers and restrict how automakers are allowed to interact with customers to sell a vehicle. On top of that, Bob Reisner, CEO of Nassau Business Funding & Services, said, "Dealers and their associations are among the strongest political operators in many states. They as a group are difficult for state politicians to vote against." In California earlier this year, the state Assembly debated a bill with wide-ranging provisions to protect against what the California New Car Dealers Association called "inappropriate treatment of dealers by manufacturers." One of those provisions stipulated that subscription services need to go through dealers, but that item got stripped out when dealers and manufacturers agreed to discuss the matter further. In Indiana, Gov. Eric Holcomb signed a moratorium on all subscription programs by dealers or manufacturers until May 1, 2019, to give legislators more time to investigate. Dealers in New Jersey have taken their campaign to the state capitol, asking that the cars in subscription programs get a different classification for registration purposes. Automakers run the current subscription services and own the vehicles. Sign-ups and financial transactions happen online or through apps, leaving dealers to do little more than act as fulfillment centers to various degrees, with little legal recourse as to compensation amounts when they're called on to deliver or service a car. That's a bad base to build on for business owners who've sunk millions of dollars into their operations.
