OnStar RemoteLink mobile app coming standard on all new GM vehicles
Thu, 06 Jun 2013As an evolution and improvement of its OnStar technology, General Motors has announced that it will be expanding the RemoteLink Mobile App on most 2014 model year Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac vehicles. The new, aptly named RemoteLink Key Fob Services will allow users to remotely operate all of the same systems as the car's key fob, including locking and unlocking the doors and remote starting (on vehicles equipped with a factory remote starter) using a smartphone.
These Key Fob Services will be free for five years - starting from the vehicle's delivery date - but the full suite of RemoteLink features will continue to be offered only with a subscription (trial or paid). These premium features include contacting a live adviser, getting turn-by-turn directions and remotely monitoring the vehicle's diagnostic systems.

Watch the 2019 Autoblog Technology of the Year presentation to Cadillac
Wed, Jan 16 2019Autoblog presented our 2019 Technology of the Year Award to Cadillac at the Detroit Auto Show. Autoblog conducted rigorous testing last fall on the latest automotive technologies, and Cadillac Super Cruise earned top honors, edging out Infiniti's Variable Compression Turbo and Mercedes' EQ technologies, the other two finalists. Super Cruise is a semi-autonomous system that allows for hands-free driving to reduce the driver's workload. Our editors found it easy to use and noted the system simply works as intended. We happily found Cadillac under-promised and over-delivered with Super Cruise, a clever system that truly helps the driver. Super Cruise launched on the CT6 sedan, and Cadillac plans to roll out the feature to other vehicles. Watch the video above as Cadillac President Steve Carlisle receives the 2019 Autoblog Technology of the Year Award from Editor-in-Chief Greg Migliore, with Autoblog GM Adam Morath and the editorial team on hand at the Detroit show. Cadillac is bringing a new concept to Pebble Beach
Mon, Aug 15 2016Cadillac will debut a new concept Thursday in Monterey. The company also released teaser video, but it only shows us a few glimpses of interior parts and a concept drawing that seems to show a very minimalistic dashboard. The big draw appears to be the large screen filling in for instruments and infotainment. According to Cadillac, the screens are curved OLED panels co-developed with LG, and the technology behind them will appear in a future Cadillac. Bringing a new concept to the famous Monterey Car Week is a return to form for Cadillac. In past years the company brought beautiful concepts like the full-size, four-door Ciel convertible, and the taught, athletic Elmiraj coupe. The latter of these showcased designed cues that trickled into production Cadillacs. No word (or pictures) on the exterior yet. We'll be sure to have complete coverage of the concept later this week.
