I am currently driving the CADILLAC CTS so the miles will be a little more, NOT A LOT. Who wouldn't IT'S BY FAR THE NICEST DRIVING CAR I HAVE EVER HAD  I am 6' 5" tall and to my amazement fit very comfortably in the car and I find the leather seats with air lumbar very nice as well. By the way the leather seats look like they are new as well as the interior of the car, it even smells new still. I like this car so much I am having a hard time deciding to sell it or keep it. The exterior paint looks like new as well brilliant clear coat. If I were to rate the car I would give it a 9.99 out of 10.

Cadillac CTS Review

The 2013 Cadillac CTS ranks 7 out of 20 Upscale Midsize Cars. This ranking is based on our analysis of 67 published reviews and test drives of the Cadillac CTS, and our analysis of reliability and safety data.

Auto critics say the 2013 Cadillac CTS offers a high-quality cabin that’s packed with features, but other cars in the class are either more nimble or more comfortable.

The 2013 Cadillac CTS comes with a choice of two V6 engines, though most reviewers suggest avoiding the base 3.0-liter engine and opting for the larger 3.6-liter V6, which offers more power and similar fuel economy. A six-speed automatic transmission comes standard, and test drivers say that it’s refined and well-matched to the CTS’ engine. If you need even more power, the high-performance Cadillac CTS-V comes with a powerful, supercharged V8 engine and an upgraded suspension. The CTS is available as a coupe, sedan or the CTS Sport Wagon. All-wheel drive is optional. Fuel economy is an EPA-estimated 18/27 mpg city/highway, which is bit low for the class. While reviewers appreciate the CTS’ precise steering and ample power with the optional 3.6-liter V6, a few say that the CTS is neither as nimble as sport sedans like the BMW 3-Series, nor as comfort-tuned as cars like the Lexus ES 350.

Inside, reviewers say that the 2013 CTS is a mix of highs and lows. While they’re impressed with the CTS’ high-quality interior materials and attractive design, a few test drivers note that the seats are stiff, and that rearward visibility isn’t as good as it could be. They also say that the CTS has a small trunk opening, which can make it difficult to load bulky objects. One reviewer writes that while the navigation screen has a large, attractive display, it can also be difficult to use. Despite these concerns, reviewers say the 2013 CTS has a great-sounding stereo, and that its other controls are intuitive. The CTS also comes with more standard features than many cars in its class. Leather, heated front seats, dual-zone climate control and Bluetooth are all standard equipment on the base 2013 CTS Luxury.

  • "Base prices are reasonable for the class, but they quickly escalate as you move up the roster and/or add costly options and packages. Still, CTS is a top-notch premium-midsize car that should not be overlooked." -- Consumer Guide
  • "In more recent years, though, the CTS has been left relying on those red, white and blue virtues while its many competitors have been updated and overhauled, essentially moving the luxury standard upward." -- Edmunds
  • "Smart styling, lots of high-tech features, a refined driving experience and impressive powertrains give the broad model lineup strong appeal." -- Kelley Blue Book
  • "The CTS checks most of the boxes it needs to in the luxury sport sedan segment with its distinctive design, upscale interior and refined 3.6-liter V-6 drivetrain. That said, discerning handling enthusiasts will get more enjoyment from the more expensive BMW 5 Series." -- Cars.com (2012)

2018 Cadillac CT6 Drivers' Notes | Super Cruiser

Fri, Dec 1 2017

The 2018 Cadillac CT6 showcases General Motors' impressive Super Cruise feature. It's the next milestone on the way to an autonomous future, though GM is being conservative about promoting Super Cruise's considerable prowess. It helps the driver, GM says. Does it work? Our editors have been testing one this week as the calendar turns and the temperatures drop in Michigan. Also, the CT6 is a really nice car. Here's what we think. Senior Editor, Green, John Beltz Snyder: Super Cruise, man. On Wednesday night, I rode home in a 2018 Cadillac CT6 with Super Cruise. I say "rode," but I was sitting in the driver's seat. I spent more time with my hands off the steering wheel than on it. It was super relaxing. Once I got on the highway, I set the cruise control, waited for the steering wheel icon to show up on the instrument cluster, and hit the button on the steering wheel that looked like a steering wheel (pretty meta, to be honest). The top section of the wheel illuminated in a green arc, and I felt the weight of the steering lift as the car began driving itself. I put my feet flat on the floor, rested my hands on my knees, and just watched the road while listening to a podcast ("The Dollop," if you were wondering). To be honest, I had trouble concentrating on the audio, as my thoughts were captivated by the way the car managed the road and traffic around me. Sure, I had to change lanes on my own and take over steering on interchanges and surface streets, but when the AI took the reins, it had my complete confidence. Perhaps just as surprising, the CT6 was also a blast to drive manually. It felt super smooth, with plenty of power and poise. I enjoyed bending it through 50-mph curves almost as much as I enjoyed being driven. Almost. Editor-in-Chief Greg Migliore: Super Cruise just works. I was blown away how easy it was to use and how well it just did what it was supposed to do. Merging into the teeth of rush hour traffic in metro Detroit, I braced for the worst. I figured I'd be stuck in bumper-to-bumper gridlock and Super Cruise would never get deployed. Frankly, I was cynical Super Cruise would work. But then I was able to hit the 70-mph speed limit and figured, well, let's just see about this thing. Like John, I did the two-steps to set up SC, and boom, it worked. It trailed the cars in front of me at a proper distance. It braked naturally to a stop and then resumed speed. It slowed down when a Jeep Grand Cherokee cut me off.

Want to beat LA traffic? Chargers QB Philip Rivers has found a way

Wed, Sep 6 2017

Slogging through traffic in Southern California is about as pleasurable as being slowly eaten by bears or being the awkward third wheel on a bad first date. It feels like it's never going to end. After the team relocated to Los Angeles from San Diego, Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers decided that three hours wasted each day in a car was too much. As The San Diego Union-Tribune reports, Rivers' rolling office makes his days more productive than ever. After deciding that he wasn't going to relocate his family to Orange County, Rivers was stuck with the prospect of either spending considerably less time with his children or skipping out on much-needed film work at the team's training facility (not really an option given his profession). Instead, he began investigating a number of options to make his lengthened commute slightly more viable and productive. First, he considered carpooling with a teammate. That was still too much of a pain. He looked at flying a helicopter, but unless it could land close to both his home and the practice field, it too was useless. A quick online search eventually led to the rolling footage review room you see here. Becker Automotive Design in Oxnard, Calif., builds these rolling offices for a wide range of customers. It sells modified Mercedes-Benz Sprinters, Ford Transits, and, in Rivers' case, a Cadillac Escalade with a raised roof. His needs were simple: a television and an HDMI input so he can hook up his computer. No fancy armor or recumbent exercise bicycle. His goal was to review game footage on his commute rather than slowly waste away behind the wheel of a car. Photos show a sea of leather and wood and a mini fridge, so it's not totally without niceties. Column | Philip Rivers' new ride allows him to stay home https://t.co/btwCEgIsFq pic.twitter.com/DHud3ho5UF — The Union-Tribune (@sdut) September 5, 2017 The Union-Tribune lists the price of the Escalade at about $200,000. That's not including the driver's salary. In 2015, Rivers signed a four-year deal with the Chargers worth $84 million, so he's not hurting for cash. If it increases productivity and saves the headache of being behind the wheel in traffic, we can imagine more people with means (and not just quarterbacks) will be opting for such daily transport. GM lays off 450 at Lansing Grand River Assembly

Mon, Dec 8 2014

General Motors will lay off 450 employees at its Lansing Grand River factory, The Detroit News reports, which is 100 more than the company said it'd be letting go last month. Lansing Grand River Assembly currently builds the Cadillac ATS and CTS, both of which have suffered sluggish sales, with the smaller sedan down 20 percent through last month and the larger model down 2.3 percent, The Detroit News reports. "We are adjusting plant production capacity to better align with market demand. Beginning in January 2015, the plant will operate on a single shift," a GM statement read, before explaining that not all the laid off Grand River employees will be jobless. Of the employees that have been laid off to make room for the single work shift, around 200 will transfer to the Lansing Delta Township factory, home of the Lambda-platform crossovers, GM's statement confirmed. The News expects this one-shift arrangement to continue until at least late next year, when the Alpha-platform Chevy Camaro transitions from General Motors' Oshawa, Ontario factory to Lansing. Cadillac President Johan de Nysschen said at last month's LA Auto Show, "It may not necessarily be permanent, a time may come when we've gained momentum and we can reinstate it. But for now, the adjustment to production capacity is in alignment with our plans for 2015."
