This is one of 4,670 Allantes made in the last year, 1993, out of a total 21,430 made between 1987 and 1993. This is one of the first 93s made. This car has only 79K miles. Painted in a striking Champagne finish this has a nice tan interior. The car was hit low in the rear-did not even damage the original decklid-and I had it at the frame shop to be sure everything is straight-and now it is. It does need sheetmetal work in the quarters, trunk floor, etc. The window regulator on the drivers door does not work.  front grill is damaged. The car moves under its own power without a problem, though the accident disconnected the exhaust so it is loud. I was going to fix it but you may want to use it for parts if you dont have the skills. The car has a clean title as it did not go through the insurance company. Please ask any questions and I will give an honest answer. This vehicle was designed by the Italian sports car designer Pininfarina, and was Cadallics first venture into the two seat convertible sports car market. I also have a white 93 hardtop with tan interior I have for the car. (THIS IS A CORRECT 93 HARDTOP AND WAS SPECIAL ORDERED FOR A CAR I ALSO OWNED). It also has the correct 93 chrome finish wheels, but I am missing one hubcap. The dash is excellent with virtually no curling. Top is excellent. I also have a set of NOS upholstery I will sell to the winning bidder for an additional $450, though this car really doesnt need them. In 1993, the price was $62,000. Allante engine, the new Northstar V8. I had hoped to repair this low mileage car for my wife to drive. I drove a 91 and another 93 all summer and had a blast. Now it has to go. I injured my leg right after buying it and havent even been able to enjoy it as much as I wanted. Arthritis is also preventing me from working on any cars this last year so they have to go as I am not getting any better. If you've never driven in an Allante before find one to test drive-you will then want one of your own. Always gets great compliments and second looks. Introduced in early 1992 for the 1993 model year, Allante was scaled down to just one model this year, the soft-top convertible priced at $59,975 (not including a mandatory $1,700 gas guzzler tax for vehicles sold in the United States). The removable 60.5 lb (27.4 kg). aluminum hardtop was now a separate option, as well as the $495 LCD digital instrument cluster in place of the standard analog instruments. Also available, chrome squeeze-cast aluminum wheels. For its final outing, Allante received the 4.6 L Northstar DOHC V8. This engine was initially rated at 290 hp (216 kW), but Cadillac upped the rating to 295 hp (220 kW) at 5600 rpm by the time the first models were sold. Torque output was 290 ft·lb at 4400 rpm. A new unequal-length control arm rear suspension, shared with the Seville and Eldorado, was also introduced that year, improving handling. Also new for the small Cadillacs was Road Sensing Suspension, an active damper management system, and improved disc brakes. Other changes for the Allante included a revised variable-assist power steering rack, deeper front spoiler, and single-piece side windows, which did away with the stationary forward vent window. A 1992 comparison test of the Northstar-powered Allante by Car and Driver placed it above the Jaguar XJS V12 convertible and the Mercedes-Benz 300SL in North America. I will be losing money on this-my loss your gain. Thanks you for everything. Any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. If you would like more pictures, just ask.

I had another 93 only right door in the crate I purchased as it was cheaper than fixing the one on the car. The front bumper shown in the picture is no longer with the car.   I had a front and rear bumper cover for the car (the front is cracked). The shop where I am storing thee car can't find them, but if they do you can have them with the car.

This is a low reserve auction-should be selling as a parts car but it is too rare and could be really nice. Please come and check it out-no guarantees.

Cadillac chief says ATS convertible, wagon on the table

Wed, 15 Jan 2014

What we do know is that the ATS will wear at least one more bodystyle. That comes from Cadillac head Bob Ferguson, who answered "Absolutely" when Automotive News asked him about the possibility of another variant. What we don't know is what that bodystyle or styles will be.
We now have a sedan and coupe ATS, there's supposedly a V sedan coming. After that, a convertible is a likely option given that the man who just became the global product honcho at General Motors, Mark Reuss, admitted to having one already designed in 2012. The decision on it can't get out of the underworld and a wagon is the other option, but the droptop would seem to make the most sense if one considers the competitive set: the BMW 4 Series and Audi A5 convertibles are hot property and Mercedes is bringing a C-Class convertible. Meanwhile wagons are the sentimental utility vehicles that, refusing to die, seem forever destined for life support... CTS Sport Wagon, anyone?
Based on Ferguson's statements, it appears that what Cadillac definitely won't do is play model variant catch-up with the European luxury brands it has spent years hunting down, telling Automotive News, "We want to keep our focus on a limited number of vehicles and do them very well."

2020 Cadillac CT4 spy shots reveal sedan-heavy approach in age of SUVs

Thu, Aug 16 2018

You're looking at some pictures of the 2020 Cadillac CT4, which will be smaller than the upcoming CT5. And since they're both smothered in similar-looking camouflage, which is specifically intended to confuse, you might think they look pretty similar. In isolated photos, it's sometimes hard to tell which sedan you're looking at. In fact, when we first saw this car recently, we also thought it was a CT5. Here's how we know they're actually two different cars. Some background: The CT5 is slated to replace the CTS, and to try and find the balance that the old car couldn't achieve in the lineup. Cadillac's former CEO previously stated that this car would also fill in for the ATS, which is on its way out. Whatever it ends up being, it'll have to make a clear case for itself against the CT6 — it can't be too close in size and opulence, or they'll hurt each other in sales. And the CT5 can't be too small, or it will struggle against traditional midsize luxury cars. The CT4 could further complicate matters for the exact same reasons, just in a smaller package. How small can Cadillac make it? It seems poised to replace the wonderful-to-drive ATS, which was as allergic to sales as the XTS. This will give Cadillac a three-sedan lineup: CT4, CT5, and CT6. Let's hope there's enough differentiation between them to prevent consumer confusion and sales cannibalization — and that consumers understand the CT6's promotion via attrition to top dog in the sedan lineup. With all that out of the way, let's look more closely at the CT4 (above left) and CT5 (right). The CT4's greenhouse stops closer to the centerline of the rear wheels than the CT5's. That gives the CT5 a visually longer, leaner look, more of a semi-fastback arrangement. The CT5's rear vanity window should resemble the CT6's, with a glass element behind the door opening. The CT4 will have a more conventional vanity window in the door, like the ATS. Perhaps the quickest "tell" is the size of the side-view mirrors, which are rounder in the CT4 and leaner in the CT5. Out back, the CT4 has a lower cutout for the license plate than the CT5. The exhaust outlets are also different, although that may change for production. Remember, the big full-width rear lights are probably misdirection on the part of the GM camo team. The entire rear decklid of the CT4 has more roundedness to it, while the CT5's extra width gives it more room up top to spread the decklid out a little flatter.

GM reworking mandatory OnStar plans for some 2024 models

Tue, Mar 21 2023

For the 2023 model year, GM added its OnStar and Connected Services plan as standard equipment to a large number of Buick, GMC, and Chevrolet vehicles. Folding the $1,500 retail price into the MSRPs of models like the GMC Acadia and Buick Encore plumped up prices beyond the usual year-on-year bumps. Looks like there's a reversal in play for 2024, GM Authority reporting that many of the models fitted with OnStar and Connected Services — now called OnStar Premium — will step down to three years of OnStar Remote Access standard.   OnStar Remote Access comes with these features: Remote key fob, vehicle locate, and remote personalization through mobile and in-vehicle apps. Three additional features can be added to the plan: OnStar Guardian, in-vehicle hotspot, and Super Cruise. Owners can also upgrade to OnStar Premium if they choose.  Higher trims like Buick's Avenir and GMC's Denali, plus the GMC Hummer and the Cadillac Escalade will retain OnStar Premium as standard equipment. That suite starts with Remote Access and adds: Automatic crash response, stolen vehicle assistance and recovery, OnStar Guardian, in-vehicle app access, unlimited streaming, three years of Super Cruise on vehicles with the hardware, and six months of SiriusXM radio. The Escalade puts a cherry on top with three years Sirius XM instead of six months. The Remote Access plan normally charges $14.99 per month. We're not sure yet if GM will subtract the cost of OnStar Premium from the MSRP and add the $540 for OnStar Remote Access, or if the trial period comes free of charge. Even if that's what happens, the change could take nearly $1,000 off the MSRP of a car like the GMC Acadia before any 2024 increases. We'll know more as the 2024MY models roll out and prices are announced. Related Video 2022 Buick Enclave Avenir revealed
