1962 Buick Skylark Base Hardtop 2-door 3.5l Very Original on 2040-cars
Denville, New Jersey, United States
|
For sale is a very original 1962 Buick Skylark 2 door coupe, with a 3-speed manual transmission couple to a feisty 215 cc V* aluminum head V8 engine. Color is deep blue with roof being off white. This car is in a very good running condition. I just drove 180 miles without a hitch. We just recently gave it a full tune up, replacing the plugs, the filters engine and trans oils. We also replaced the rear shocks and springs with brand new ones. I have the front springs and shocks which will be included in the sale. We just had the carburetor rebuilt, replacing all worn or defective parts. The car stars right up without any hesitation thanks in part to the new battery and new fuel filter plus the cleaned out gas tank. The car has been stored inside most of its life maintaining a beautiful luster to its original deep blue paint. Not a show car by any means but a solid daily driver ready for the next step to restore it without much effort to its original simple yet elegant glory. This car is 99% complete and 99% rust free. Only very small surface rust at the rear wheel and a small dent on the front fender. the underbody is solid having received undercoating some years back. The rest of the body is straight minus minute scratches and normal scratches. The interior is very presentable too- minus the front seat covers as they will need replacement. It has working front seat belts. The AM radio, the heat, the mirrors and the lights word very well. The tires are very good, the brakes front and back have been serviced recently. The trunk is very clean, sold and the jack parts plus the spare tire are all there. The weather-stripping rubber while old still keeps water off the car. The instrument cluster works very well except for the gas gauge which moves when filled with gas but it does not show the actual gallonage. The speedometer, the odometer, the temp and Gen work properly. The heat/vent levers work as well. The carpet is very solid and has no visible stains or tears. The headliners is intact and not sagging. Overall, this car is a joy to drive, and its aluminum engine is an automotive first, Original owner's manual. Great fuel economy for its age and size! Pre-inspection and further inquiries are cheerfully welcome. Shipping, taxes and vehicle transfer fees are the responsibility of the buyer. A PayPal deposit of $1000.00 is required within 24 hours of the auction end. Balance either in cash or bank certified check only. Car is being offered for sale locally. Good luck! |

2014 Buick LaCrosse updated with new styling, tech
Mon, 25 Mar 2013Buick might have one of the smallest lineups among major automakers, but by the time the 2014 model rolls around, it will definitely have one of the freshest. Debuting at the New York Auto Show this week, the 2014 Buick LaCrosse receives numerous styling changes inside and out, and it benefits from many of the same new features found on closely related models like the Cadillac XTS and the 2014 Chevrolet Impala.
Exterior changes are relatively minor, but they still help give the car a fresh, new look. The new face of the 2014 LaCrosse fits in with recently new or redesigned Buick models with its oversized waterfall grille, LED-trimmed headlights and the signature hood vents being moved to the side of the hood rather than the top. Similar changes have been made to the rear, like the reshaped LED taillights, the full-width chrome trim and a new fascia design; LaCrosse models equipped with the 3.6-liter V6 will still get the integrated exhaust finishers but they're executed in a more stylish manner than the current model. Finishing off the exterior, new wheel designs are also being introduced, which will include bringing 20-inch wheels to the sedan's option list.
Inside, Buick redesigned almost the entire cabin to create a more luxurious and upscale appearance. The instrument panel is essentially carried over, but pretty much everything else has been redesigned and updated with the biggest change being to the driver's area. Dual eight-inch configurable displays make up the center stack and gauge cluster, while the overall number of buttons have been reduced from 17 down to just seven. The 2014 LaCrosse will also be offered with the next-generation IntelliLink, which receives many of the same enhancements as Chevy's latest version of MyLink adding better customization, improved voice commands and more features including Pandora. Additionally, new door panels, seat and center console complete the LaCrosse's interior redesign.
2014 Buick Regal GS
Mon, 09 Sep 2013A few months ago I drove the 2014 Buick LaCrosse and wrote up a First Drive review of it. For all of my quibbles with that sedan (and I had a fair number), I understand that it speaks to the heart of what new Buick loyalists like in a car; it's roomy, has a cushy ride and is as placid as a summer's morning at highway speeds.
Those qualities, while undeniably desirable, don't mean a whole lot to me personally. I prefer sedans that conjure up words like "nimble," "punchy" or even "raucous" on occasion. So, directionally, the high-performance GS version of the 2014 Buick Regal is more my cup of tea than any other car in the company's current range.
In fact, I'd already come to know the Regal GS from its 2012 model year introduction, and grown more than a little fond of the sporting sedan in its original front-wheel-drive, six-speed-manual guise. The fast, sweet-handling car with well-sorted controls may have suffered from a slight identity crisis in terms of pricing (and may still), but it was undeniably fun to drive. So, when I heard that the GS was coming to market for 2014 with optional all-wheel drive (albeit only in combination with a six-speed automatic transmission), I was stoked to have another go and concentrated my driving impressions on the AWD car.
Cadillac Celestiq, Lyriq, Hummer, other future GM electric cars: Here's everything we saw at ‘EV Day’
Wed, Mar 4 2020WARREN, Mich. — Today, General Motors held an “EV Day” event at its Warren, Michigan, campus to present its new “Ultium” battery technology, modular electric vehicle architecture and soon-to-come electric vehicles. Unfortunately, we were forbidden from bringing cameras into the event, so while we canÂ’t show you what we saw, we can tell you more about it. While we saw the previously teased Cadillac EV (which we now know to be called the Lyriq) and the GMC Hummer pickup teased during the Super Bowl, there were a number of other future cars at the event, which GM President Mark Reuss assured us are all real vehicles in the works. The biggest surprise came at the end of the event, though, in the Cadillac Celestiq electric sedan, which Reuss described as a future flagship that would be hand-built “very locally.” It had been hiding under a dark sheet all morning, with the front and rear illuminated Cadillac emblems shining from underneath. When the wraps came off, we saw a long, white, four-seat fastback sedan. The 23-inch wheels were pushed out to the very corners of the car, giving it what appeared to be a very long wheelbase. The model on the stage had no side mirrors or visible door handles. The grille mirrored that of the Lyriq crossover next to it, with integrated lighting in lieu of the usual mesh or slats youÂ’d see in an internal combustion car. The entire roof, all the way until it tapered to the tail of the vehicle, was tinted glass. In back, vertical tail lighting ran down the C-pillar before turning rearward across the top of the trunk. Inside, everything below the beltline of the windows — essentially all but the headrests and top portion of the steering wheel, was hidden from view. Behind the Celestiq, a large digital display showed a rendering of its interior. The dash consists of a pillar-to-pillar curved LED display serving as both instrument panel and infotainment system. Protruding forward between the front seats was another touchscreen that appeared to house some more controls, with open area, probably for storage, below it. The rear seats had the same sort of touchscreen between them. Built into the back of the front seats were a pair of rear-seat entertainment screens, much like we saw in the Lyriq. The door panels blended wood, metal and animated lighting to give character and a sense of opulence. GM interior design manager Tristan Murphy was on hand to tell us a bit more about the Celestiq.
