                                                                BICENTENNIAL YEAR CLASSIC CAR

1976 BUICK LESABRE 4 DOOR CUSTOM

Most everyone that loves old cars has a fantasy of finding that nice little lady or gentleman that has that old car hidden away in  the garage & you are able to get the car & bring it out into the light of day & find that it has been so well taken care of that almost all the power options still work & it runs out very nice. I think we have found an older car in that realm. This is a wonderful 38 year old classic car from the days when cars were Big with Big Motors & could cruise down the highway like you were sitting in your living room. This Buick LeSabre is in unbelievable shape for a Garage Find. Someone bought drove & took care of this car for since new. The car has been driven under 1600 miles in the last 22 years. The last service date & mileage is on the Amco Service slip in the holder on the dashboard. As you try each option on this car it is unbelievable that most everything still works. Things like cold air, am/fm stereo radio w/power antenna, cruise control, power windows, turn signals, head lights, Rear Window Defroster, Windshield Wipers w/mist button, Power Seat, Adjustable Speed Warning Buzzer, power trunk release, & believe it or not, the silly CLOCK STILL WORKS! It was getting downright crazy trying to find something that did not work on this car, finally after checking everything we could think of, including all the lights, one of our neighbors called out when we were backing the car out of the driveway & informed us that one of the back up lights was out. Whew! Finally.

Car condition w/#1 being perfect Show Car, & #6 being good just for parts car,  This car would be a solid 3. Interior would be a 2, paint is a 4, engine & drive train is a solid 3, no Rust noticed. Drives like a number 2 car. Should be pretty easy to get to local car show condition. Wonderful Daily Driver.

I don't want anyone to think this LeSabre is a  perfect show car, because it is not, there are parking dings, some small paint chips, & at least one fender looks to have some paint work done, the paint is old but still looks good, could at least use a good buff & wax. The right front fender has a scratch about the size of a basketball on it. Should be a easy fix for any local body shop. The chrome & trim work is very good for this age car,  maybe could use a good polish. The paint is good but tired. We just washed the car & did not wax or buff the car to get more accurate condition pictures. If the car was buffed & waxed with a few touch ups, it would look absolutely great. We tried to keep the price affordable & also let the new owner have a few things to do to get the best look. Anyone would have a real hard time finding a 1976 model car with all these features that still work & in this kind of condition. The mileage on the odometer reads 34,608, & was stated to us as being original, which might be hard to believe until you see the condition of the interior & drive this car. Then it is not that hard to believe at all. We cannot Guarantee the mileage, but believe most anyone will be happy when they see the condition & drive this car. Our family had a 1971 Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser & Pontiac Parisian back when I was a youngster, this wonderful Buick drives just like them, & both those cars were bought new. Some people might rather have the 455 motor, but we really like the 350 4 barrel motor this one has. It has all the power you will ever need & gets much better gas mileage.

The recent items repaired or replaced on this classic include new 4 Barrel Carb, replaced radiator, new plugs, plug wires, Dist. Cap, & Rotor, new oil & transmission fluid incl/new filters, new tires, & new rear brakes w/Front Brakes in great shape. Turn the key & go cruising tonight. I could keep writing about this car on & on, but I have tried to describe it as it is. We keep shaking our heads & smiling to be able to find a car like this so many years after it was made. The car is an honest 38 year old car from America's Bicentennial Year & easy on the eyes & pocketbook. WOW, what a car.

This LeSabre is being sold AS IS, with an very LOW RESERVE & a very affordable BUY IT NOW PRICE! For those that remember these cars, or if they brings back Fond Memories, this is an easy way to get into the classic/collector car hobby for not much money. The collector car insurance is unbelievably affordable, & antique car tags are available in a lot of states. Collector Car insurance for as low as $139-$169 per year, including liability, collision, & comp, depending on agreed upon value. That is enough reason to buy an old car right there. Thanks for looking & wish we had a Dozen of these to offer. Great Car-Great Price-Great Condition! We have over 50 pictures available if someone wants to see more detail. Email us thru ebay with any questions.

Winning bidder required to pay $500 within 48 hours after auction ends & pay the balance by the 7 th day from auction end.

2014 Buick Regal GS AWD

Thu, 27 Feb 2014

"This is just silly," I said as I laughed my way sideways around the icy track at Circuit ICAR, a racecourse, drag strip and kart track at the Montreal-Mirabel International Airport in Quebec. It wasn't the activity that had me cracking up, though. After all, winter driving experiences aren't uncommon in this business.
No, in this particular case, it was the car that had me chuckling. I wasn't in a mad hot hatch or a rally-derived rocket - I was in a Buick. The 2014 Regal GS, to be more precise. Somehow, despite its recent product renaissance (not to mention its distant - yet storied - history of performance models), I was having a hard time believing that this attractive, turbocharged, all-wheel-drive sedan sliding around the Great White North could possibly be wearing a Tri-Shield badge on its nose.
But it was, and slide about it did. While having access to a vehicle in this setting is fairly rare, what's rarer is the fact that I've had so much exposure to it. In Mr. Ewing's recent Volkswagen Golf R drive story, for instance, his ice capades were his first experience with the new model. In my case, though, I was lucky enough to first test the refreshed Regal GS for a week back in December before flying to Quebec to drive it on the snowy, icy, winding roads of Canada's most fiercely independent province and on the track at Mirabel.

Junkyard Gem: 1962 Buick Electra 225 4-Door Sedan

Mon, Jan 15 2024

Buick built its first Electras as 1959 models, with Electra production continuing unabated through 1990 (after which the Park Avenue trim level took over as the model name, much as the Malibu trim level designation had shoved aside the Chevelle model name in 1978). Some of the handsomest Electras were the second-generation models, built for the 1961-1964 model years, and today's Junkyard Gem is one of those cars. I'd always assumed that the Buick Electra took its name from the daughter of Clytemnestra and Agamemnon in Greek mythology, because the people who named cars back then were forced to read Euripides and Sophocles as undergrads. In fact, the car was named after Electra Waggoner Bowman Biggs, a Texas heiress and sculptor who married the brother-in-law of Harlow Curtice, who ran the Buick Division before being promoted to president of General Motors in 1953. How did she feel when the last Electra rolled off the assembly line in 1990? The junkyard is full of history, if you know where to look. The 1959-1960 Electra had enormous tailfins, angled something like the ones seen on the same-year Chevrolet Impalas. This Electra generation ditched the fins but kept much of the general Space Age spirit of its predecessor. The Electra lived on the same platform as the Cadillac DeVille and Oldsmobile 98 from start to finish, and it was the most expensive Buick available in 1962. The MSRP of this one was $4,051, or about $41,462 in 2023 dollars. The engine in this one was present when it arrived at U-Pull-&-Pay, but a junkyard shopper grabbed it within a couple of days of arrival. It would have been a 401-cubic-inch (6.5-liter) "Nailhead" V8, rated at 325 horsepower and a whopping 445 pound-feet of torque (keep in mind that these are gross, not net, power numbers). The Nailhead's small valves meant that it wasn't much good for high-rpm use, but its big torque was perfect for moving two-ton land yachts. The final Nailheads were installed in 1966 Buicks. Every production Electra ever built came with an automatic transmission, and the 1959-1963 models received the extremely smooth and alarmingly inefficient Dynaflow (known as the Dual-Path Turbine Drive for 1962). Originally developed for use in the 1943 M18 Hellcat tank destroyer, the Dynaflow was considered a two-speed automatic but drove more like a CVT with two selectable drive ranges.

Buick Envision crossover to premiere in China

Tue, 01 Jul 2014

Buick currently offers two crossovers: the compact Encore and the extra-large Enclave, leaving plenty of room to slot a mid-size crossover in between. And that's just what Buick is planning on doing. In China, anyway.
Previewed in the teaser above, Buick's upcoming new crossover is cloaked and nestled in between its aforementioned stablemates-to-be. Set to be unveiled in China sometime later this year, the model has been confirmed to wear the name Envision - at least in that market. That's the name which the concept version wore three years ago, but we're still waiting on word over whether that name will carry over to the US version or whether we should expect something different like Anthem. But we have to admit that Envision fits better in the brand's crossover naming scheme.
Shanghai GM isn't saying much about the Envision in the press release below, aside from it having "dynamic and assertive styling" backed by all-wheel drive and stop/start ignition. The last time Buick offered a mid-size crossover in North America was with the Pontiac Aztek-based Rendezvous that was discontinued seven years ago.
