 2000 BMW M5,

My friend purchased this car USED on 5/20/08 with 78,457 miles,  then on 10/03/2013 I purchased it from him with 93,460 miles. It now has 95,600 miles. I don't have any receipts so you can take it or leave it from here on out;  Vehicle history & info:

Life After 5/20/08: First major job was new clutch somewhere in 2011,  It has had more oil changes then necessary - every 2500 miles, using BMW / Castrol 10W60 TWS Synthetic or same oil but the Liqui Molly brand & Oil/OEM Oil Filter Kit - V8  E39.

94,000 miles:  NGK V Power Resistor BKR6EKUB Spark Plugs, Mann Air Filters, Hengst fuel filter & Bosch windshield wipers.

95,200 miles:  Camshaft position sensor (German) from Rock Auto Parts.

Many items from ECS auto, Turner motor. If you own a German auto - then you need quality parts.

I have an extra head light assembly- goes with the car, The head lights on the car now both been rebuilt with new positioners.

      New seal around the windshield.

All equipment listed works with no issues; Air, Heat, Heated/Power Seats, Power Windows/Locks, Alarm, Cruse, Wipers, Turn Signals, Emergency Flashers, Power Sun Roof, Remote Key, External/Interior lights, back-up sensors.

What doesn't work or wrong: Radio won't play seems to be the amp, also the previous owner told me "don't use the tape deck" it eats tapes. The instrument cluster is pixelated, making it - very difficult to read. I just didn't feel like shipping it out for repair. Cup holders are broke. Rust bubbles around gas filler. Paint fading off top of doors. Door dings all over. Drivers door has it the worst, looks like it got kicked by an angry Girl Friend - not that I would know.

The SES, service engine soon, light comes on and as per the Peak R5/FCX-3 reader table 1b code AA -secondary air system, flow too low. What that means is - The secondary air system is a smog reduction set-up to reduce cold start emissions, the air pump does come on however due to carbon build up, air flow is being restricted all the while the air pump is operational which is approximately 30 seconds or so during a cold start. In other words - forget about it.

Drivers side Vanos chatters but typical.

Tires under 3000 miles - Continental Extreme Contact -

Included: Peake R5-FCX-3-16 BMW Scan Diagnostic Tool 2000-2007

A test drive is the only way to go, however I to have purchased a car on e-bay sight unseen so I am talking from experience and will try and provide all with too much data and as I look at this M5 I feel I'm being over critical.

I made a test drive video so check it out, it may or may not be helpful - we kept it rated "G" for all you kiddies.

I may sell locally, so I will pull this listing unless theirs <24 hrs remaining to the end of auction.

Xcar celebrates 100-year anniversary with Model T tribute

Fri, Jan 9 2015

Never mind the fact that XCar hasn't been making videos for the last 100 years, the British duo have gone all silent-moving-pictures in order to make their centenary case for the Ford Model T, a car that was already seven years old in 1915. It's not a review, but a mostly sepia-tinged look at the car that started the mass-market adventure by taking that biblical advice to be fruitful and multiply and populate the Earth abundantly. Since it looks like Xcar is celebrating some kind of milestone, we've also included another video below of the first Xcar review we could find, covering the BMW M1, from the much more recent past - circa 2012.

BMW Active Tourer to hit US showrooms in 2015

Tue, 26 Nov 2013

It's been over a year since BMW unveiled the Concept Active Tourer at the Paris Motor Show, and another four months since it brought the concept back in Outdoor guise (pictured above). Now word has it that the Bavarian automaker is putting it into production.
Although production specs and dimensions have yet to be revealed, the Concept Active Tourer came in a bit smaller than the existing BMW X1. The production version is expected to be based on the same platform that underpins the new Mini hatchback revealed last week in LA, meaning that it will be predominantly front-drive, but an all-wheel-drive version could follow.
There will also be a longer version with a third row of seats, forming part of a new generation of front-drive BMWs to take on the likes of the Audi A1 and Mercedes-Benz A-Class family, of which the GLA will be the Active Tourer's most direct rival. Expect the Active Tourer to arrive in 2015 with a new front-drive sedan to follow in 2017 aimed particularly at the North American and Chinese markets.

Watch the next BMW M5 slide its way around the Nurburgring

Mon, Mar 28 2016

By now, you've probably seen the spy photos of the next BMW M5 – we posted three sets of camouflaged cars last year. Now comes recently captured video showing three camouflaged examples – including the car shown in our June 2015 photos – lapping Germany's famed Nurburgring. The (obvious) advantage of video when looking at prototypes like this is that we can actually see the vehicle in motion. That allows us to make a couple of educated guesses, particularly when it comes to the rumors about the next M5 moving to an all-wheel-drive setup. In the video, we can clearly see the next super-sedan throw its tail out around a bend. Judging by the way the driver takes the turn and the change in engine note, it looks and sounds like the driver was actively trying to throw the tail out. That could point to a rear-drive layout, or at the very least an AWD setup with a heavy rear-wheel bias. Beyond seeing the M5 sliding about, we also get to hear its thumping, twin-turbo heart at work. It's widely expected BMW's popular 4.4-liter, twin-turbo V8 will carry on under the hood, and this video gives us absolutely zero reason to think otherwise. It sounds a lot like the current car, down to the abrupt upshifts of the seven-speed, dual-clutch transmission. According to the video's caption, that upgraded V8 should get around a 60-horsepower bump, which would put it around 620 hp. That's 20 ponies more than the 30th Anniversary car and would contradict a June 2015 report claiming that M was capping its cars at 600 hp. Related Video:
