1986 BMW 635 / 2 door coupe / Red color / moon roof

Engine: 6 cylinders

Transmission: Manual 5 speed

Mileage:  70,200 original miles

Immaculate condition with absolutely NO RUST.  Always  garaged, never been in the snow or rain. I have owned the car for the last 8 years and have only driven about 3,000 miles.

The car has a stainless steel exhaust which gives a very nice subtle sound.

Tires: Front: 235/45ZR 17  and Rear: 255/40ZR 17  with 95% tread on them.

Wheels:  17 inch.  The original wheels go with the car.

I never thought I would sell the car, but since I am moving I cannot keep it.

At one point I thought to improve the performance of the car with a better cylinder head, valves, large diameter throttle body, performance chip, etc., but never did.  The car is completely in original condition.

Over the last few years I bought many spare parts,  just to mention a few:

  • Cylinder head
  • Set of competition (double springs) valve springs
  • Large diameter throttle body
  • Original replacement throttle body
  • Electronic module
  • ABS unit
  • Radio
  • Water and windshield wiper reservoir and motor
  • Seat back rest electromechanical mechanism
  • A/C fan
  • MAP sensor
  • Performance chip
  • Set of fender chrome moldings
  • Rear spoiler
  • Intake manifold

All the above parts go with the car.

The car needs the A/C charged, speedometer does not work (odometer and the rest of the instrument panel work fine),  3rd brake light bulb needs to be replaced.

If you enjoy a “shark”, this is probably one of the few cars with very low mileage (for a BMW) you will ever find.

The car is also for sale locally, so this listing may be withdrawn at any time.

Thank you for looking at this listing and happy bidding.

Lexus back in luxury sales race after three-year absence

Sun, 08 Jun 2014

Think the only challengers for the title of best-selling luxury brand hail from der Vaterland? Wrong. Lexus outsold the likes of Mercedes-Benz for the second time in 2014 last month. In fact, the Japanese luxury marque's total sales this year are a mere 12,000 units behind BMW.
Lexus was able to move 26,921 vehicles last month, a year-over-year increase of 21.1 percent, respectively. Mercedes, meanwhile, was just barely beaten, moving 26,617 units in April. The difference, though, is that Lexus has made far bigger year-over-year gains than Mercedes, which recorded a YOY increase of just 4.13 percent.
This is particularly troubling for the Germans, as it marks a return to form for Lexus that we haven't seen since before the March 2011 earthquake and tsunami that decimated Japan. Prior to that natural disaster, Lexus enjoyed nearly a dozen years at the top of the luxury heap.

BMW i8 will be first production car to use Gorilla Glass

Wed, 07 Aug 2013

What do smartphones and the BMW i8 have in common? Glass. Scratch-resistant Gorilla Glass, that is. The i8 will be the first production car to use the chemically hardened material, which is more durable, lighter and provides more sound deadening than conventional laminated automotive glass. We thought it would be a natural replacement for windshields, but, according to Autoweek, BMW said it will be used for the rear window for sound deadening purposes. The Gorilla Glass will still be laminated, with two 0.7mm thick layers of it sandwiching an acoustic sheet, reports Autoevolution.
BMW reportedly claims the i8 will weigh less than 3,285 pounds, and to offset the heavy hybrid powertrain to reach that goal the automaker has implemented lightweight materials normally not found in mass-production automobiles. With a carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) monocoque used for both the (relatively) pedestrian i3 and the upscale i8, it's not surprising BMW was also the first to jump onto Gorilla Glass, especially given the timing of a report that a high-end automaker would introduce it within the year.
Be sure to check out our First Drive review of the i8 to see if BMW's newest sports car is living up to the hype.

2013 BMW R1200GS and HP4 duel at Circuito de Almeria

Wed, 05 Jun 2013

The 2013 BMW HP4 is the track-ready version of the manufacturer's already mighty S1000RR, which puts the bike at the very tip top of the two-wheeled BMW food chain. The R1200GS, meanwhile, is intended to be a somewhat more utilitarian machine. Capable of conveying both rider and gear over vast distances and uncertain terrain, the big-boy GS is the Swiss army knife to the HP4's rapier. Or at least that's what we've always been led to believe. BMW recently rolled out some footage during a press launch that showed the R1200GS is actually no slouch when it comes time to sling around a road course.
The company threw both bikes on Spain's Circuito de Almeria for a little sparring match, and miraculously, the HP4 didn't just up and walk away from the R1200GS. From from it. Instead, the two stay tightly matched through most of the course before something surprising happens. We won't spoil the ending for you. Is it possible the rider on the HP4 still had some in reserve? Sure, but from the sound and look of things, neither bike was giving an inch. Check out all the video action below for yourself.
