Up for auction is my 2006 BMW 525! Overall the car drives and looks excellent.
Exterior
The BMW retains its original charcoal grey metallic paint. No repaints that I am aware of. Shines nicely, detailed regularly and garage kept. A very few minor scuffs near the hood/bumper (common for a car that is driven regularly).
Interior
Black leather interior. Overall appears very nice with minimal wear. No tears, cracks in leather or anything that would indicate abuse. The only thing that shows wear is the steering wheel (hereagain to be expected for a car that is driven).
Engine/Performance
The car drives as good as new. No squeeks or rattles. Picks up nicely on the highway. The car has been serviced regularly by a certified BMW mechanic. I have a good friend that owns a shop. I have never let any maintenance issue get overlooked. The car received a regularly scheduled maintenance in March. All hoses, fluids, brakes etc were taken care of. The tires have less then five thousand miles.
Extra stuff
The car has a nice set of premium, staggered 20 inch BMW wheels. It has a cold weather package which included, heated stearing wheel and seats. Moon roof and power sun roof are included. The car is garage kept and detailed regularly. I feel pretty confident out of state buyers could fly in and drive the car home.
TERMS
This car is being sold "AS IS" where is, with no warranties expressed or implied. I have listed the car honestly and to the best of my ability. This is my local driver used to run errands and pick up/drop off my kids. The mileage may be slightly higher due to light usage. The buyer is responsible for shipping related costs. For California buyers, I will have the car smogged prior to sale. In addition, I will split the cost of the registration renewal fee (CA only). I require a $1000 non-refundable deposite due within 48 hours and final payment due within four business days. I reserve the right to end the listing at any time. You can call (714)234-6095 with questions or inspections. I strongly encourage all bidders to inspect the car for themselves prior to bidding.

5 new EVs that make driving fun
Thu, Jan 25 2024One of the things enthusiasts bellyache about the most is electrification. The noisiest complainers say that EVs will suck the fun out of driving and can’t possibly be as engaging as a roaring gas engine. ItÂ’s undoubtedly true that the noises EVs make are not always as visceral and thrilling, but itÂ’s also true that electrification has ushered in a new era of performance that gas vehicles simply cannot match. WeÂ’ve gathered a list of EVs that donÂ’t suck to drive. We all know by now about Tesla and its Plaid models, which absolutely set the quarter-mile ablaze with their amazing acceleration figures. The vehicles on this list don't come from Tesla. Nor does the list include some highly anticipated performance EVs that will soon hit the market, such as the new 2024 Porsche Macan. This selection may be a bit short on range compared to tamer models, but at the same time, itÂ’s hard to ignore their specs and even harder to ignore the sensation that a full-throttle electric powertrain delivers. LetÂ’s dive in to see five new EVs that make driving fun. Porsche Taycan PorscheÂ’s gas-powered vehicles are among the most exciting on the road, so itÂ’s not surprising to see the automakerÂ’s first electric effort as a home run. The Taycan is available in a staggering number of configurations, ranging from the 375-horsepower base model to the massively powerful Turbo S models with up to 750 horsepower in temporary boost mode. Classic Porsche styling and high-end tech round out the package, making the Taycan one of the most desirable EVs today. That said, the TaycanÂ’s almost $91,000 starting price puts it out of reach for a majority of car buyers, and the prices keep steadily rising along with the performance. It also trades range for performance, as the least powerful variant is the most efficient, returning 242 miles with the extended-range battery. The car can take advantage of fast charging, however, and can recover up to 80 percent of its battery capacity in just over 22 minutes. Â Kia EV6 GT How about a Kia that can out-accelerate many supercars, especially from a few years ago? The EV6 GT comes with two electric motors with a combined 576 horsepower and 545 pound-feet of torque. Its 0-60 mph time lands at just 3.4 seconds, and the EV offers a top speed of 161 mph, making it one serious Korean EV. At the same time, it features the standout styling of the standard model, which gives it a striking curb presence and a futuristic look that is unique among EVs.
BMW 8 Series revival not coming anytime soon
Mon, 19 Aug 2013If you thought the BMW Gran Lusso Coupe concept that was shown at Villa d'Este a few months back was a preview of a new BMW 8 Series, prepare to be disappointed. According to a report from the UK's Autocar, BMW officials have "rejected suggestions" that a production model based on the concept was coming. To be fair, though, would you expect them to just acknowledge it?
The Brits seem to be thinking the same, as the story went on to quote BMW research and development chief, Herbert Diess, who claimed, "We're looking into the possibility of production, but a decision is still a way off." Diess also points out that it's far too early for anything to be confirmed, seeing as how the concept only debuted about 10 weeks ago.
The well-received Gran Lusso was penned by Pininfarina and motivated by a brawny, twelve-cylinder engine. If it were to enter production, it'd likely sit at the top of BMW's gas-powered offerings, and would compete against the Mercedes-Benz CL AMG and Bentley Continental GT.
BMW i8's three-cylinder sounds like it's shaping up quite nicely
Tue, 25 Mar 2014We've run across some rather interesting news... or perhaps we should say interesting sounds. The folks from Bimmerpost have scrounged up a short video showing a preproduction BMW i8 running through a few gears in Sport mode at a quick pace, and if you were concerned that the somewhat eco-friendly nature of the upcoming German sports car would neuter its ability to stir the aural senses, fret not.
Judging by the lovely noise coming from the engine compartment of the i8 in the video, BMW's expertise in tuning high-strung, small-bore engines - remember, BMW Motorrad has quite the penchant for well-conceived motorcycle engines - has come through loud and clear. Now, it's worth mentioning that BMW's controversial Active Sound technology will be included with the i8, so the production car may not sound exactly like this version, which is running with the tech disabled. Owners won't have the ability to disable Active Sound on production i8s.
In related news, Bimmerpost reports that BMW will equip the i8 with an external Active Sound Design system to go along with its Pedestrian Protection System. That means those on the outside will likely hear piped engine recordings from the rear and a sort of "howl" from the front in order to warn pedestrians that the otherwise quiet (when running on electricity, that is) car is approaching. It will also feature technology that can stop the car before contacting a pedestrian.
