Ok everyone, Welcome!
Here is a super rare find Engine and Vin number matching 2002ti that I am bringing you.
Please read it carefully as it is of great importance to understand why the car is so rare and why its a chance of
a lifetime to own a very rare piece of BMW history.
History of the 2002ti models:
The 2002ti designation became known since the 2002ti won the 24 Hours Nuerburgring race in 1970. Also the 2002ti
was not the only BMW model that carried the "ti" badge. All cars which carried the "ti" badge had a sportier engine
with twin side-draft race carburetors, and it also represented lighter and sportier models, similarly to the "is"
badge in current generation 335iS with the exception that they were usually light-weight cars.
This car was originally ordered by a Persian gentleman residing in France whom was also a champion in Rally racing
from the famous "World Touring of Iranian Rally Federation" in Shah time.
He ordered this very rare Ti Spec. car and took it to ALPINA and had them install their roll cage and tail lights
and race clutch.
He raced this car in Rallies across Europe and the middle east (As his Authentic Badge on the grill shows) and
enjoyed this car for a few years with so very few miles which he put on since he also used Mini coopers also for
rally races.
In 1978 due to Iranian revolution his race license, passport and celebrity status made the car unreachable and
therefore he left at his home in France until 1999 when he had the car brought to the U.S.
The car has since been restored to it's original glory with $9,000 paint job. The car was originally Malaga and he
changed it to Inka during restoration in 2006.
Here is the list of all parts that this car has, some of which can not be found or sourced any longer:
-ALPINA roll cage including rear strut cage attached to the shock towers (Worth $3,500 U.S.D)
-Genuine period correct Dino Steering Wheel (Worth $1,800)
-Gold BBS 13" wheels (Worth $1,800)
-Newer Crack free Dash and Gauges
-Cocoa mats
-original AM/FM radio with One speaker in the center consul
-New set of ALPINA French tail lights with Orange reverse lights (Worth $700 each)
-Ansa Race Exhaust
-40 Side Draft Webber carbs
-Newly replaced windshield and gaskets
-Original set of front grills in like new shape (they are original to the car)
-Recaro Race seats with red stitching and race harness seatbelts
-California Mirrors
-French Euro amber front signals
I have many pictures and can take some more detailed photos if desired. Also the car currently has a 4-Speed
transmission and original ALPINA race clutch.

Bangle urges auto design shakeup, says industry not innovating

Fri, 30 Aug 2013

Controversial designer Chris Bangle, the man behind the notorious E65 BMW 7-Series "Bangle Butt," has some rather sharp criticism for the current crop of automotive designers in an upcoming full-length interview with Automotive News Europe. The preview, posted on Automotive News, details parts of the interview, with the always vocal Bangle lamenting the state of modern automotive design.
"Even concept cars today simply anticipate the next production model coming down the line. Is this innovation? No. And at the end of the day this is what's preventing car design from moving into a new era." Controversial as Bangle's design philosophy may be, we can't help but think he has a point. His so-called "flame surfacing" at BMW and other stylistic elements had a huge influence on modern automotive design, although as the years have passed, there hasn't been much innovation on the same scale.
Interestingly, Bangle also mentions that he's been courted by a few manufacturers that wanted to install the American as the head of their design teams. He's flatly rejected them, telling ANE, "It's not something you can do part time, you have to do it with all your heart and soul or you're going to get it wrong."

BMW M1 really was the Ultimate Driving Machine

Thu, 29 May 2014

Life giving you lemons? Make lemonade. That's the spirit in Munich that lead to BMW producing the only mid-engined sports car in its 98-year history. The project resulted from a collaboration with Lamborghini (now owned, incidentally, by arch-rival Audi) to meet Group 4 homologation requirements. Lamborghini withdrew, the FIA changed its rules, but BMW built it anyway.
Arguably one of Giorgetto Giugiaro's finest designs, the M1 packed a 3.5-liter inline-six, driving 273 horsepower to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual. The Procar racing version turbocharged that output up to 850 hp and attracted the top drivers in a one-make F1 support race series.
Over the course of three years, the Bavarian automaker only built 456 examples of the M1, and for BMW enthusiasts, there's no vehicle more coveted. But don't take our word for it - let Petrolicious tell one noteworthy owner's tale in the video below.
