Audi A3 E-tron guest stars in Muppet video for Emmys

Following on its tiny role in 2015's hilarious Emmys promo, Audi is grabbing a somewhat bigger guest spot by throwing in an A3 Sportback E-tron in this year's video starring the Muppets. Jim Henson's famous creations are returning to television in the coming weeks, and they get this extra bit of marketing for the upcoming 67th Primetime Emmy Awards on September 20. Starring Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy going out for lunch, the spot includes cameos by Julie Bowen from Modern Family and Viola Davis from How to Get Away with Murder. Joel McHale is the one that actually gets behind the wheel of the Audi, though. While the PHEV's appearance feels more forced more than last year, the clip provides a dose of nostalgia to Muppets fans ahead of their new show. This Audi R8 V10 sounds great with a Capristo exhaust

No matter how rainy or grey your Monday morning is, it only takes a video of an Audi R8 V10 Plus with an aftermarket exhaust to brighten it up a little. This black 2016 example has been modified with an exhaust built by the German specialist Capristo, and the results are impressive. The piping makes the R8 crackle and scream in a wonderful way at a recent Gumball event, with cars lining up on the track tarmac to perform a few neat launches despite the drizzly weather. The Capristo exhaust takes advantage of the R8 V10's existing valve system in the stock exhaust setup, and improves upon that with programmable valve control offering different modes. By pressing buttons on the keyfob, the driver can go from "Cruise" mode to "Sports" or "Open", all differing in loudness. Stock the V10 plus produces 610 horsepower, and the Capristo setup is sure to throw in a few extra ones. The Audi RS3 shows up at Paris with five cylinders, 400 hp, and a scowl

Last night at the Volkswagen Group Night, almost lost among all the future mobility hoopla about the Volkswagen I.D. autonomous EV concept, Audi parked an RS3 sedan. We have some preliminary information about it – including that it's packing a 2.5-liter TFSI engine, the same five-cylinder powerplant that makes 400 horsepower in the new Audi TT RS we just drove. In the RS3, it'll have the same rating. It'll also have a wider track, because it's surely packing wider and stickier rubber. We also know that it'll have a special Virtual Cockpit gauge display that puts the tachometer in the center, in the tradition of sporty driver-oriented cars. Before you sigh something about the injustice of it not reaching the Americas, like many RS models of the past, great news: this one is almost assuredly coming to the US, according to our best intel. We'll have more details later today after the official press conference, but for now the bottom line is this is both what we expected and also truly exciting.
